The two upper mounting bolts (1/2-13 x 1 1/2 hex bolts with lock washers) are inserted through 1/2" holes drilled in the metal bumper. A 1/2" wire nut (bolt plate) is inserted through the side of the lower section of the metal bumper from inside. The bolt is then hand-tightened only at this stage. Loctite is applied to each bolt. Final tightening occurs after all bolts are started.
The lower braces are positioned in the formed areas of the cross frame (outside the engine support). Four 3/8" holes are drilled through the cross frame and marked from the brace position. Each hole receives a 3/8-16 x 1 1/4 hex bolt with lock washer and nut plate (with wire). Pull bumper fascia and main bumper from frame, removing any plastic push rivets as needed. Separate metal bumper from plastic fascia and bolt metal bumper back to frame.
Mark the center of the metal bumper on the styrofoam and mark the center of the baseplate. Hold the baseplate up to the bottom of the metal bumper, aligning the center marks.
