Introducing the Blue Ox BX1750 Tow Bar Bracket - a top-tier accessory designed to fit your specific towing vehicle with precision. Crafted from high-quality steel, this durable and reliable bracket is perfected with a black powder coat for enhanced resilience against wear and tear. The bolt-on mounting type ensures a secure attachment, while the inclusion of necessary mounting hardware simplifies the installation process. With Blue Ox, you can confidently tow your beloved vehicle knowing it's anchored with strength and stability.

Blue Ox is known internationally for recreational and commercial towing products, manufacturing in Pender, Nebraska since 1925. The line covers tow bars and vehicle-specific baseplates for flat towing behind a motorhome, sway control and weight distributing hitches, supplemental braking accessories and towing wiring, backed by patented designs and long-standing customer service.
Blue Ox has manufactured since 1925 and is recognised internationally for towing products and customer service. The company operates from Pender, Nebraska, where it grew out of Automatic Manufacturing Co., a business that started with cattle oilers and developed into agricultural equipment, tractor accessories and trailer towing hardware. That agricultural engineering heritage still shows in how the towing products are built, and the company holds patents across weight distribution, fifth wheel and tow bar designs.
Flat towing is the discipline Blue Ox is best known for. Towing a car with all four wheels on the ground behind a motorhome demands a system that stays rigid under braking, articulates properly over uneven ground, and connects to the towed vehicle at points strong enough to take the load. Blue Ox tow bars handle the first two, with self-aligning arms that latch under tension and release without a struggle when the load is off them. Vehicle-specific baseplates handle the third, engineered per make and model to tie into structural mounting points behind the fascia.
The wider flat towing range covers supplemental braking systems, safety cables and the accessories that make a complete legal setup, along with baseplate wiring and dinghy towing harnesses that pass lighting signals to the towed vehicle without back-feeding its electrical system.
For conventional trailer towing, Blue Ox weight distributing hitches with integrated sway control transfer tongue load onto the tow vehicle's front axle and resist the yaw that crosswinds and passing trucks induce.
The company describes its foundation as customer service, designing around what owners actually ask for, and it runs an RV park adjacent to the factory where customers can stay. Sister operations at the same Nebraska site include Automatic grain roller mills and MAD-RAMPS pivoting ramp systems.

Yes, the BX1750 is designed for 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade Diesel and includes specific provisions for vehicles with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Turbo, and Lower Shutters. The ACC sensor must be removed and repositioned during installation, then reinstalled after the baseplate is mounted. The ACC bracket must be trimmed to allow clearance for the baseplate.
Yes, the BX1750 is compatible with 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade Diesel models regardless of whether they have ACC. Steps 13, 14, and 20 of the installation instructions apply only to models with ACC; if your vehicle does not have ACC, you skip those steps and proceed directly to the remaining installation steps.
The attachment tab height is 16 inches and the width is 20 inches.
Required tools include: large vise grip, flat screwdriver, reciprocating saw, drill, Loctite Red, 1/2" drill bit, 5/16" nut driver, 7MM socket, 10MM socket, 7/16" socket, torque wrench, 7/16" wrench, 9/16" socket, 9/16" wrench, and T15 Torx. A torque wrench is essential for proper bolt tightening.
The kit includes: 10 x 1/2" Whiz Nuts with 10" wire, 1 BX1750 baseplate, 2 attachment tab assemblies with holes, 10 x 1/2"-13 x 1-1/2" hex head bolts (Grade 5, zinc plated), 2 x #10-32 1/2" round slotted head screws, 2 x #12-14 x 1" self-drilling screws, 2 x #10-32 hex nuts, 10 x 1/2" lock washers, 2 x #10 lock washers, 1 electrical bracket, 2 class IV safety cables, 2 x 1/2" quicklinks, 2 x 8" nylon cable ties, and 2 black cap plug receivers.
Blue Ox recommends that the BX1750 be installed by Blue Ox Dealers who are familiar with the product and have the equipment and knowledge necessary to do fit work. Dealers can be found at www.blueox.com or by contacting Blue Ox Technical Service at (402) 385-3051. The installation involves removal and reinstallation of multiple components, drilling, trimming, and precise torque specifications.
The following components must be removed and reinstalled after baseplate installation: lower plastic cover, upper plastic cover, tail light, fascia cover, fascia, belly pan, skid plate, and wheel well liners. For vehicles with ACC, the ACC sensor and ACC bracket must also be removed and repositioned. All removed components should be placed on a flat, sturdy surface during installation.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill six holes total using a 1/2" drill bit: two holes on the driver side and one hole on the passenger side using the baseplate as a template (step 18), and the bottom two holes on each side of the vehicle (step 19). Note that the top hole on the driver side must be drilled at an angle. Some existing holes may need to be reamed out for hardware to fit.
Yes, trimming is required. Using a reciprocating saw, you must cut and remove a section of the shroud by measuring down from the bottom of the bumper 4-1/2" and 6-3/4" and marking the shroud (step 15), then cutting along the bottom back edge of the shroud and removing the bottom piece (step 16). Additionally, the fascia must be trimmed around the convenience links and attachment tabs (step 22). For vehicles with ACC, the ACC bracket must be trimmed to allow clearance for the baseplate (step 20).
Yes, you should use a good quality paint to spray cut edges of the frame to prevent rusting. This is important for long-term durability and corrosion prevention.
1/2"-13 Grade 5 bolts should be torqued to 78 foot-pounds. All bolts must have Loctite Red applied to the threads before tightening. The BX1750 uses ten 1/2"-13 x 1-1/2" Grade 5 hex head bolts with lock washers and whiz nuts.
Yes, Loctite Red must be applied to all bolt threads before tightening. This is a required step stated multiple times in the instructions to ensure bolt security and prevent loosening during towing.
Two electrical connections must be unplugged on the passenger side of the vehicle (step 9), and one gray electrical connection must be unplugged on the driver side of the vehicle (step 10). Additionally, the washer tube on the driver side must be disconnected (step 11). All electrical connections must be reconnected and verified as functioning before reinstalling the fascia (step 22).
For vehicles with ACC: Remove the three bolts from the ACC sensor on the passenger side (step 13), turn the sensor, and feed it through the hole on the bracket toward the vehicle, letting it hang during installation. Do NOT unplug the ACC sensor as this may trip an error code on the vehicle. After the baseplate is installed, slide the sensor back through the hole in the bracket and reinstall it onto the bracket and vehicle (step 20).
The baseplate is computer tested to your vehicle's GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). Exceeding this weight will void the manufacturer's warranty. You should reference your vehicle owner's manual for manufacturer's towing specifications.
Yes, permanent baseplate safety cables are strongly recommended and are included in the kit (2 class IV safety cables with quicklinks). These cables must be connected from the baseplate to the frame rail or cross member of the vehicle's frame. The cables must not rub against any hoses or moving parts. Safety cables are to be used in conjunction with, and NOT as a replacement for, legally required safety cables attaching the towed vehicle to the towing vehicle.
Attach the permanent baseplate safety cables to the provided convenience link on the baseplate and secure them to a solid piece of the frame. The cables must not rub against any hoses or moving parts. Use a zip tie to hold safety cables together and out of the way. Do not mount the cables against wires, hoses, or brake lines. The manual shows recommended installation routing to the frame of the vehicle.
Before reinstalling the fascia, ensure that ALL electrical connections are plugged in and accessories are functioning properly. Verify that the fascia is trimmed correctly around the convenience links and attachment tabs and reinstalls properly. Confirm that all bolts have been tightened to the correct torque specifications with Loctite Red applied. Check that safety cables are properly routed and secured without rubbing against hoses or moving parts.
It is the owner's responsibility to inspect all towing equipment for cracked welds, missing or worn parts, and loose bolts before each towing trip. Ensure Loctite Red is used on all bolts and tighten them to the recommended specifications. Register your product online at www.blueox.com to be alerted of product offerings, updates, upgrades, maintenance and safety bulletins, and recalls. Blue Ox offers service at rallies and at their factory for a nominal fee to ensure the towing system is in proper working condition.
If the baseplate is involved in an accident, it must be replaced. Do NOT use it again, as an accident can cause unseen damage and using it again could result in more damage or serious injury. Do NOT use the baseplate if it is damaged or missing parts. Replacement baseplates may be ordered through your nearest Blue Ox Dealer or Distributor.
Yes, the BX1750 is covered by Blue Ox's three-year limited warranty from the date of delivery to the original retail purchaser. The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. Warranty coverage requires that the customer warranty card be returned within 30 days of purchase and a copy of the original invoice accompany any warranty claim. The warranty does not cover incorrect or improper installation, improper use, modification, neglect, misuse, accident, normal wear and tear, paint, or rust. Exceeding the vehicle's GVWR voids the warranty.
The latest version of the BX1750 installation instructions is available at www.blueox.com. You should always reference the latest version before beginning installation. The current version is Rev B, dated 12/21/23.
If the front of your vehicle looks different than shown in the manual, please contact Blue Ox Technical Service at (402) 385-3051. Dimensional variations between otherwise identical vehicles can be considerable, and Blue Ox can provide guidance for your specific vehicle.
Yes, the BX1750 is designed for 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade Diesel with or without Adaptive Cruise Control, Turbo, and Lower Shutters.
You need a reciprocating saw, drill with 1/2" bit, torque wrench, sockets (7MM, 10MM, 7/16", 9/16"), wrenches (7/16", 9/16"), T15 Torx, vise grip, screwdriver, nut driver (5/16"), and Loctite Red.
Yes, you must drill six holes using a 1/2" drill bit: two on the driver side, one on the passenger side, and two on the bottom of each side. The top driver-side hole must be drilled at an angle. Trimming with a reciprocating saw is also required.
Torque 1/2"-13 Grade 5 bolts to 78 foot-pounds. Apply Loctite Red to all bolt threads before tightening.
The baseplate is rated to your vehicle's GVWR. Exceeding this weight voids the warranty. Check your vehicle owner's manual for towing specifications.
Yes, two class IV safety cables with quicklinks are included. They must be connected from the baseplate to the vehicle frame and must not rub against hoses or moving parts.
Yes, Blue Ox recommends installation by Blue Ox Dealers familiar with the product and equipped for fit work. Find dealers at www.blueox.com or call (402) 385-3051.
For ACC-equipped vehicles, remove the ACC sensor from its bracket but do NOT unplug it, as this may trip an error code. Feed it through the bracket hole and let it hang during installation, then reinstall it after the baseplate is mounted.
The manual notes that you may need to ream out existing holes for hardware to fit. Use appropriate reaming tools to enlarge the holes as needed to accommodate the 1/2" bolts with lock washers and whiz nuts. Ensure holes are properly sized before final installation and torquing.
The manual specifically notes that the top hole on the driver side of the vehicle will need to be drilled at an angle. Use the baseplate as a template and carefully position your drill to achieve the correct angle. This angled hole is necessary to accommodate the baseplate geometry on the driver side.
The manual specifically warns that unplugging the ACC sensor may trip an error code on the vehicle. To avoid this, do NOT unplug the ACC sensor during removal. Instead, remove the three bolts from the sensor, turn it, and feed it through the hole on the bracket while keeping it plugged in. Let it hang during installation. This should prevent error codes from appearing.
The manual states that you must ensure the safety cables do not rub against any hoses or moving parts. If cables are rubbing, reposition them by securing them to a different solid piece of the frame as described in the General Information sheet. Use zip ties to hold safety cables together and out of the way. Do not mount the cables against wires, hoses, or brake lines. If repositioning is not possible, consult Blue Ox Technical Service at (402) 385-3051.
Before reinstalling the fascia, ensure that ALL electrical connections are plugged in and accessories are functioning properly. If connections are not working: (1) verify all connectors are fully seated and plugged in, (2) check that the gray electrical connection on the driver side is properly reconnected, (3) verify the two electrical connections on the passenger side are properly reconnected, (4) ensure the washer tube on the driver side is reconnected. If problems persist, consult Blue Ox Technical Service at (402) 385-3051.
