Flat towing is the discipline Blue Ox is best known for. Towing a car with all four wheels on the ground behind a motorhome demands a system that stays rigid under braking, articulates properly over uneven ground, and connects to the towed vehicle at points strong enough to take the load. Blue Ox tow bars handle the first two, with self-aligning arms that latch under tension and release without a struggle when the load is off them. Vehicle-specific baseplates handle the third, engineered per make and model to tie into structural mounting points behind the fascia.

The BX3724 baseplate is designed for 1992–1996 Toyota Camry models. If your vehicle is outside this year range, this baseplate will not fit. Consult the fitment database or contact the manufacturer to confirm compatibility for your specific model year.
You must remove the plastic belly pan and the vehicle's tie down brackets from both sides. The belly pan is held by four bolts (removed with screwdrivers, pliers, and 10mm socket). The tie down brackets are secured by eight bolts total (four per side, removed with 17mm and 10mm sockets). Save all removed bolts—they will be reused during installation. Note that only the lower bumper bracket bolt needs to be fully removed; the upper bolt may only need to be loosened to allow the bracket to slide out.
Yes. You must drill two holes in the bumper flange to accommodate the center mount bracket. Use an 11/32" transfer punch to center punch the bumper flange, then pilot and finish drill using an 11/32" drill bit. You must also cut slits in the plastic belly pan on each side, from the tie down bracket opening to the front edge, to clear the baseplate.

Replace the belly pan, cutting slits as needed. 10. Install the tow bar and safety cables per their instructions.
No. Install the eight tie down bracket bolts hand-tight first (step 6), then drill the bumper flange holes (step 9). Only after all hardware is installed hand-tight should you apply Locktite and finish-tighten the bolts, starting with the 17mm socket on the side mounts.
The manual does not provide torque specifications for any of the baseplate bolts. Consult the General Instruction Sheet included with the baseplate, or contact the manufacturer for torque values for the 17mm side mount bolts and the 5/16 center mount bolts.
Locktite Blue is a threadlocker compound that must be applied to the bolts before final tightening. The manual specifies applying Locktite before finish-tightening all bolts. This prevents bolts from loosening due to vibration during towing. Do not skip this step.
Yes. The eight bolts removed from the tie down brackets (four per side) are saved and reused to secure the baseplate. These bolts are hand-tightened in step 6 and finish-tightened in step 11 after Locktite is applied.
The manual notes that dimensional variations between otherwise identical Camrys can be considerable. If a bolt does not clear, you may need to file the hole slightly to allow alignment. This is a normal part of the installation process.
After the baseplate is installed, replace the plastic belly pan pieces. To clear the baseplate, cut a slit on each side of the belly pan from the tie down bracket opening to the front edge of the plastic.
