The conventional trailer coupler range is built around the Wedge-Latch mechanism, which uses a wedge to take up wear between coupler and ball rather than relying on a fixed clamp that loosens over time. A tongue jack is a mechanical lifting device mounted to a trailer tongue that raises and lowers the front of the trailer for coupling, uncoupling, and ground clearance. The manual covers multiple types: bolt-on rack jacks, snap ring models, bolt-thru models, A-plate jacks, direct-mount jacks, and pivot tube jacks. Each type uses either a side-wind (hand crank on the side) or top-wind (hand crank on top) handle to raise and lower the load vertically.

It is recommended to attach a bottom support plate to the bottom of the tongue.
1) All welding must be performed by an AWS certified welder. 2) Place the jack at the desired location on the tongue. 3) Weld 1 inch in 2 locations on both sides of the jack using a 3/16 inch fillet weld. The same welding instructions apply to other weld-on mounts.

Secure the load, vehicle, and trailer from rolling by blocking the wheels when operating the jack or coupling the trailer. Do not allow children to play on or around the jack or the load being supported. Before manually moving the trailer, crank the jack to the lowest position. Minimize movement of the implement while the jack is under load. Do not use the jack as a transport device for the implement it is attached to.
When using the drop foot or drop leg, make certain the supplied pin is fully inserted through both sides of the inner tube and the drop tube before using the jack. If using an optional drop foot or caster, always remove the drop foot or caster before towing to maximize ground clearance. Never attempt to adjust the drop foot or drop leg when there is any load on the jack.
