Towing your vehicle behind your RV is a great way to experience more of the adventure on your cross-country excursions. Whether you're towing a compact car or a full-size truck, CURT has the perfect solution to help you Bring It! CURT towed-vehicle RV harnesses are a vehicle-specific, plug-and-play solution to wiring your vehicle for dinghy towing. They use original-equipment-compatible connectors to plug into your vehicle's wiring system without any cutting, splicing or soldering required. They provide a standard 4-way flat connector to plug into the RV socket and synchronize the vehicle's tail lights, turn signals and brake lights with the RV's. Because each towed-vehicle RV harness has a vehicle-specific design, installation is fast and easy. This RV harness add-on connector is designed to install together with a CURT RV harness and provide a standard 4-way flat connection for towing with your vehicle. When your vehicle is not being dinghy towed, this add-on allows you to plug in, hitch up and tow like any standard vehicle-trailer combination. It supplies your vehicle with a 4-way flat connector at the rear and feature a plug-and-play design for no cutting or splicing during the installation process. This particular add-on can be used with certain RV harnesses with 3-wire systems.

The kit is designed for RV vehicles with a factory RV harness that includes a breakout labeled 'FOR TRAILER TOW USE ONLY: CONVERTER 85340 REQUIRED'. The breakout is typically located behind the driver's side taillight or behind the driver's side interior panel, depending on your vehicle. You must also have Converter 85340 available, as it is required for this kit to function. Check your vehicle's RV harness for this specific breakout before purchasing.
The kit includes: (1) Wiring Harness with 4-Flat Connector, (2) 6" Cable Tie, (1) 15" Cable Tie, and (1) #10 Self-Tapping Ground Screw.
The manual does not specify whether battery disconnection is required. Contact the manufacturer or consult a qualified installer before beginning work.
You will need a drill with a 3/32" drill bit to create the ground hole. A test light or trailer is required to confirm correct operation after installation. The manual does not specify other tools, but you may need a screwdriver to remove and re-attach taillights and interior panels.
Yes. You must drill a 3/32" hole in a clean metal surface near the RV harness ends to mount the ground screw. If possible, the manual recommends reusing an existing hole drilled for the RV harness ground. You must remove any debris or undercoating to expose clean metal before drilling. Take care not to drill through the vehicle body or any exposed surface.
The breakout labeled 'FOR TRAILER TOW USE ONLY: CONVERTER 85340 REQUIRED' is located behind the driver's side taillight or behind the driver's side interior panel, depending on your vehicle. Locate this breakout before beginning installation.
Press down on the Female 4-Way connector and pull in the direction shown in Figure 2 to separate it from the RV harness. After disconnection, inspect the connector for dirt and debris and clean if necessary before proceeding.
The manual identifies the protective dust cover in Figure 1 but does not provide specific instructions for its removal or storage. Refer to Figure 1 in the manual for identification.
Attach the ring terminal on the white wire using the #10 self-tapping ground screw provided. The screw must be installed in a clean metal surface (3/32" hole drilled as described in Step 6). Remove any debris or undercoating to expose clean metal before installation.
Route the car-side 4-flat connector from the add-on harness to the center of the vehicle and secure it to the hitch using the 6" cable tie provided. Avoid routing the harness through areas that could cut, pinch, or burn the wires.
Locate a suitable location to mount the converter box. The box is mounted using double-sided tape: remove the paper from the back of the tape and press the box against the surface. Clean the surface prior to mounting if necessary to ensure proper adhesion.
Secure loose wires behind the taillights using the 15" cable tie provided. After securing the wires, re-attach the taillight to the vehicle. If necessary, re-install any rear interior panels and other hardware that was removed during installation.
Confirm correct operation using a test light or by using a trailer. The manual does not provide specific test procedures beyond this confirmation step.
The 4-way female connector includes the following wire colors: Yellow (Left Turn), Green (Right Turn), Brown (Taillights), and Red (Brakes).
Make sure to avoid areas that could cut, pinch, or burn the wires when routing the harness across the vehicle. Additionally, take care not to drill through the vehicle body or any exposed surface when installing the ground screw.
