A CURT RV hitch is a trailer hitch designed to mount on a recreational vehicle to tow along a few toys, add extra cargo space or to allow a vehicle to be flat-towed behind the RV. These hitches are manufactured using CURT's quality processes of robotic welding, thorough cleaning and precise finishing. Both our RV trailer hitches and RV bumper hitches are coated with a liquid A-coat and high-gloss black powder coat finish to protect against scratches, rust and UV damage, and both offer a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount or other towing accessories. CURT RV hitches are designed to fit a variety of RV styles. With two types to choose from -- an adjustable 3-piece frame-mounted style or a bumper-mounted style -- these hitches mount easily onto the frame using the included hardware. This class 3 RV hitch features a gross trailer weight capacity of 5,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs. It is able to fit a frame up to 66" wide. It is excellent for towing a cargo carrier behind your RV, increasing your overall cargo space, or an average-size trailer, such as a utility trailer, boat trailer or recreational vehicle hauler for ATVs, personal watercraft or dirt bikes. This RV trailer hitch is also compatible with a tow dolly or tow bar for dinghy towing a small vehicle (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). CURT RV hitches are not just another accessory for your motorhome; they are a dependable extension to help you achieve that ultimate RV experience every time you hit the road.

The hitch is designed for vehicles with frame widths from 22" to 68.5".
Yes. Drilling is required. You will need to drill two 9/16" holes into the frame (one on each side) and four 11/16" holes through the main body tube walls.
Required tools: ratchet, 3/4" socket, 11/16" socket, 11/16" wrench, drill, 9/16" drill bit, 11/16" drill bit, and torque wrench.
Torque 1/2" hardware to 110 lb-ft and 5/8" hardware to 210 lb-ft.
The kit includes: 4 × 1/2"-13 UNC Grade 8 serrated flange nuts (part 20-00062), 1 × 1/2" × 30" fishwire (part 1_2 x 30 FISHWIRE), 4 × 5/8" flat washers (part 30-00131), 4 × 5/8"-11 UNC Grade 8 serrated flange nuts (part 20-00105), 4 × 0.250" × 1.50" × 2.00" square hole spacers (part CM-SP1), 4 × 5/8"-11 UNC 1-1/2" Grade 8 hex cap screws (part 10-10038), and 4 × 1/2"-13 UNC 1-1/2" Grade 8 carriage bolts (part 10-10287).
Not necessarily. The bumper may need to be loosened to allow installation of the 1/2" carriage bolts and spacers through the frame and side brackets, but only if access holes are not already present in the frame. If access holes exist, bumper removal may not be required.
Fishwire is a flexible wire tool (1/2" × 30" is included in the kit) used to route fasteners through the frame when access holes are not present. If the frame does not have existing holes for the 1/2" carriage bolts and spacers, the bolts and spacers may need to be fishwired into the frame to complete the installation.
1. Slide the left and right frame brackets onto the main body tube. 2. Position and clamp the side brackets to the bottom of the frame so the receiver tube with ballmount is centered on the vehicle, ensuring adequate coupler clearance. 3. Center the main body on the vehicle and clamp at both ends to prevent movement while drilling.
Two drill bit sizes are required: a 9/16" drill bit for drilling two holes into the frame (one on each side), and an 11/16" drill bit for drilling four holes through the walls of the main body tube (two holes per side).
Yes. The main body tube may be trimmed flush with the outside of the side plate bracket. However, if trimmed, the bare metal must be coated with paint to prevent corrosion.
1. Install 1/2" carriage bolts and spacers through drilled holes in frame and side brackets, then loosely install 1/2" flange nuts and remove clamps. 2. Drill 11/16" holes through the main body tube walls using the side plate bracket tubes as templates. 3. Install 5/8" hex bolts and flat washers into the holes, place flange nuts onto the bolts from inside the main body tube, and remove clamps. 4. Torque 1/2" hardware to 110 lb-ft and 5/8" hardware to 210 lb-ft.
No. The 1/2" flange nuts should be loosely installed in Step 4, and the 5/8" flange nuts should be installed loosely in Step 5 before clamps are removed. All fasteners are fully torqued only in Step 7, after the hitch is properly positioned and clamped.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The CURT 13704 has a gross load capacity when used as a weight-carrying hitch, but you must verify your specific vehicle's limits with the manufacturer.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify an exact interval, so regular visual inspection before towing is recommended.
