Towing your vehicle behind your RV is a great way to experience more of the adventure on your cross-country excursions. Whether you're towing a compact car or a full-size truck, CURT has the perfect solution to help you Bring It! CURT towed-vehicle RV harnesses are a vehicle-specific, plug-and-play solution to wiring your vehicle for dinghy towing. They use original-equipment-compatible connectors to plug into your vehicle's wiring system without any cutting, splicing or soldering required. They provide a standard 4-way flat connector to plug into the RV socket and synchronize the vehicle's tail lights, turn signals and brake lights with the RV's. Because each towed-vehicle RV harness has a vehicle-specific design, installation is fast and easy. This particular RV dinghy towing wiring harness is designed for specific years of the Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL (see application info to verify fitment). CURT RV harnesses are also built to provide long-lasting operation. They feature integrated block diodes that protect the vehicle's circuits from the RV signals. They isolate the sensitive vehicle electronics, keeping them from overheating and short circuiting. Every CURT towed-vehicle RV harness comes ready to install with all necessary hardware included. They also come with a 4-way flat extension to provide plenty of length to plug into the RV socket, as well as a connector mounting bracket to mount the connector on the vehicle.

The CURT Custom Towed-Vehicle RV Wiring Harness, Select Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, XL Trailer Connector Kit (Part #BKDK58965) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The CURT 58965 is designed for SUVs and Vans (S). The manual does not list specific vehicle makes, models, or years. Contact CURT or consult a fitment database to confirm compatibility with your exact vehicle before purchasing.
The CURT 58965 is a custom wiring harness that connects your vehicle's taillights to a 4-flat trailer connector. Once installed and tested with a trailer, the taillights on both the tow vehicle and trailer will function together.
You will need: a drill, a 3/32" drill bit, a panel trim removal tool, and a cutting tool. The manual rates the installation difficulty as Easy.
Yes. Step 1 requires you to locate the vehicle battery using your owner's manual, then disconnect the negative battery terminal. Fasten this wire down and away from the battery during installation. Reconnect it after all installation steps are complete.
The harness has two main connectors. The yellow wire connector installs at the rear corner under the vehicle on the driver side, separated from the factory harness. The green wire connector installs at the rear corner on the passenger side. Both connectors must be separated carefully to avoid damaging the locking tabs.
After installing the yellow wire connector at the driver side rear corner, route the custom RV harness along the rear bumper to the passenger side. Use the provided cable ties to loosely secure the wiring as needed. Then install the green wire connector at the passenger side rear corner and tighten the cable ties so the harness is firmly in place.
You may need to drill. First, locate an existing screw or bolt in the vehicle frame near the box to use as a grounding point. If no suitable existing fastener is available, drill a 3/32" pilot hole. The area must be free from rust, dirt, and paint; use an abrasive pad or paper to clean it. Before drilling, check for miscellaneous items hidden behind or under surfaces to avoid damage or personal injury.
The white ground wire has a ring terminal. Secure it either on an existing fastener in the vehicle frame or with the provided ground screw. The grounding point must be clean, free from rust, dirt, and paint.
The 4-flat connector is routed in stages: (1) along the fuel fill tube and above the frame rail to the rear of the fuel tank on the driver side; (2) above and along the frame rail to just behind the driver-side front wheel, secured loosely with cable ties; (3) to the rear of the driver-side wheel well; (4) up through the wheel well lining into the engine compartment below the brake master cylinder and left of the main fuse block; (5) along the secondary battery box up to the radiator support.
Use the provided cable ties to secure the wire, but do not tighten them so much that they cause unnecessary strain, which could lead to breakage over time. After removing slack, tighten the zip ties and add additional ones as needed. Secure any excess wire to a solid spot along the driver-side inner fender so it is not drooping or dangling.
Reinstall all items removed during installation. Reconnect the negative battery terminal if it was disconnected. Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion. Test the harness for proper function by attaching the 4-flat to any vehicle with functioning trailer lights; the taillights on both the tow vehicle and trailer should function together.
Attach the 4-flat connector to any vehicle with functioning trailer lights. The taillights on the tow vehicle should function along with the taillights on the trailer. Alternatively, use a test light to verify proper function.
Periodic inspection of all wires and connections should be performed to ensure there is no visible damage or loose connections. No specific inspection interval is provided in the manual.
Do not exceed the product rating or the tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower. The manual does not specify the product's rating; consult the product documentation or CURT for the exact capacity.
Before drilling, check for miscellaneous items that may be hidden behind or under any surface to avoid damage and personal injury. This is especially important when drilling the 3/32" pilot hole for the ground wire.
The CURT 58965 is designed for SUVs and Vans (S). Confirm your specific vehicle model and year with CURT or a fitment database before purchasing.
