The CURT 45934 is an adjustable dual ball mount designed to connect a trailer to a vehicle's hitch receiver. It features an adjustable shank that allows you to set the proper ball height based on your trailer's coupler height, and includes a dual ball platform for towing.
The CURT 45934 has a gross trailer weight (GTW) rating of 20,000 lbs and a tongue weight (TW) rating of 2,000 lbs. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The ratings of the mount system represent only the capability of the product itself, not the towing system as a whole. Always verify the lowest rated component in your entire towing system and do not exceed that limit.
No tools are required for basic assembly and installation. However, before towing, you must use a torque wrench and 3/8" hex drive socket to torque all hardware to 45–55 lb-ft.
The CURT 45934 includes: one dual ball platform, two pins, and one clip. The adjustable shank is sold separately. You will also need to purchase a hitch pin and clip separately to secure the shank into your vehicle's receiver tube.
Yes. The parts list indicates the adjustable shank (#1) is sold separately. You will need to purchase it in addition to the CURT 45934 kit.
Yes. The manual states that the hitch pin and clip used to secure the shank into the trailer hitch receiver are sold separately. The clip included in the CURT 45934 kit is for securing the tongue pins only.
Level your trailer and measure from the bottom of the trailer tongue to the ground. Find the hole on the adjustable shank that is closest to that measurement. The trailer ball platform will be centered on that hole when properly installed. This ensures the trailer coupler and vehicle receiver are aligned correctly.
1. Insert the adjustable shank into your vehicle's trailer hitch receiver and secure it with a hitch pin and clip. 2. Determine the proper ball height by leveling the trailer and measuring from the tongue bottom to the ground, then find the matching hole on the shank. 3. Slide the dual ball platform onto the shank, aligning it with the proper hole locations. 4. Angle the platform slightly upwards and press toward the shank. 5. Insert the first pin into the top tongue hole. 6. Apply downward force to the platform and slide the second pin into the bottom hole. 7. Secure both pins with the included clip. 8. Before towing, torque all hardware to 45–55 lb-ft using a torque wrench and 3/8" hex drive socket.
For most positions: angle the platform slightly upwards and press toward the shank. Insert the first pin into the top tongue hole. Apply downward force to the platform and slide the second pin into the bottom hole. For the highest mounting position: install the bottom pin first with the platform angled downward, then apply upward force to install the second pin. Secure both pins with the included clip.
All fasteners must be torqued to 45–55 lb-ft using a torque wrench and 3/8" hex drive socket. This must be done before towing.
No. Never hook trailer safety chains to the mount system. Ensure the safety chains operate freely around the mount system and do not become entangled.
Before towing, ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. Use a torque wrench and 3/8" hex drive socket to torque all hardware to 45–55 lb-ft.
Use mild automotive detergent to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products, as these may damage the finish.
The provided pins are specifically engineered for this system. If replacement pins are needed, they must be replaced with original factory mount pins only (CURT# 45931). Do not use aftermarket or generic pins.
