The CURT OEM puck system 5th wheel adapter for Chevy, Ford and GMC pickups combines the functionality of CURT 5th wheel puck system products with the strength and convenience of the truck bed puck system. The adapter provides a set of industry-standard 5th wheel rails to securely mount a CURT 5th wheel hitch or roller into the bed of your truck. It is designed to fit select model years of the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD and Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty (see application info to verify fitment). It features a set of adjustable, quarter-turn anchors to quickly and easily drop into the pucks and provide a moveable platform for the 5th wheel coupling point. This puck system adapter requires a specific puck system for installation (year range specific). It features a capacity of 25,000 lbs. and is compatible with all CURT 5th wheel legs and rollers (weight capacities are limited to the lowest-rated towing component). Like our other OEM puck system 5th wheel products, the key feature of the 5th wheel puck system adapter is its quarter-turn anchors. With the hitch initially bolted onto the adapter, the adapter can easily be dropped into place whenever needed and secured with the quarter-turn anchors. The anchors can also be adjusted to help eliminate chucking noises between the adapter and under-bed platform while towing. When you are finished towing, simply turn the anchors to remove the entire assembly within seconds. The CURT 5th wheel adapter for select Chevrolet, Ford and GMC pickup trucks provides the ultimate in versatility for the CURT 5th wheel line. It tested for safety in accordance with SAE J2638 and is coated in a highly durable carbide black powder coat finish to protect against scratches and rust.

Yes, the CURT 16027 Puck System 5th Wheel Adapter is designed to fit 2020-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD models, so your 2023 will work perfectly. This adapter converts your factory puck system to industry-standard rails and handles up to 25,000 lbs with its quarter-turn anchoring system.
Absolutely! The CURT 16027 covers 2020-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD models, so your 2026 is included in the fitment range. It features adjustable quarter-turn anchors that drop right into your factory pucks and provide a solid 25,000 lb capacity platform for your fifth wheel hitch.
The CURT 16027 fits 2020-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD, 2020-2026 GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD, plus 2011-2026 Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks. All these models need to have the factory puck system already installed for this adapter to work. The adapter provides industry-standard rails that accept most fifth wheel legs and rollers up to 25,000 lbs.
Installation is actually quite straightforward with the CURT 16027's quarter-turn anchor design. Once you have your fifth wheel hitch bolted to the adapter rails, the whole assembly drops into your factory pucks and secures in seconds. The anchors are even adjustable to eliminate any chucking noises during towing.
The CURT 16027 has a gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity of 25,000 lbs. and a vertical load capacity of 6,250 lbs. You must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, as doing so may result in separation, damage to the hitch, vehicle, trailer, and serious injury or death.
Yes, the CURT 16027 is designed for Chevrolet and GMC trucks with bed puck mounts. During installation, the handles must face towards the outside of the bed, and you will use the third and fifth mounting holes from each end of the cross support tubes.
Yes, the CURT 16027 is designed for Ford trucks with bed puck mounts. During installation, the handles must face towards the center of the bed, and you will use the first and third mounting holes from each end of the cross support tubes.
The CURT 16027 requires truck bed puck mounts. You must mount each cross support assembly into the pucks in the bed of the truck. If puck caps are present, they must be removed before installation.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and torque wrench. The torque wrench is essential because all 1/2" hardware must be torqued to 110 ft-lbs. during installation.
The kit includes: 2 cross support tubes, 8 carriage bolts (1/2"-13 x 4"), 8 flange nuts (1/2"-13), 2 cross supports, 4 locking bolts, 4 foot spacers, 2 right handles, 2 left handles, 4 castle nuts, 2 safety pins, 4 cotter pins, and 4 flat washers.
Yes. If puck caps are present on the truck bed, they must be removed before installation. This is done in Step 2 before mounting the cross support assemblies.
Starting on the left side, insert a foot spacer and locking bolt through the bottom of one cross support. Place a left handle over the threads of the locking bolt. Secure the handle with a flat washer, castle nut, and cotter pin. Repeat on the right side using a right handle. The handles should initially be in the open position.
For Chevrolet and GMC models, use the third and fifth mounting holes from each end of the cross support tubes. Align these holes with the holes in the assembled cross support and secure using eight 1/2" carriage bolts and 1/2" flange nuts, torqued to 110 ft-lbs.
For Ford models, use the first and third mounting holes from each end of the cross support tubes. Align these holes with the holes in the assembled cross support and secure using eight 1/2" carriage bolts and 1/2" flange nuts, torqued to 110 ft-lbs.
After the legs are secured and positioned in the truck bed puck mounts, rotate the handles back to the closed position. Secure the handles by inserting the provided safety pin. You should feel slight resistance as the handles rotate closed. If the handles will not close with moderate pressure, you must adjust the locking T-bolt before forcing them closed.
Confirm that both locking bolts are engaged in the truck bed puck mounts and that the castle nuts are secured with the cotter pins. Ensure both handles are securely locked with the safety pin.
All 1/2" hardware on the CURT 16027 must be torqued to 110 ft-lbs. This applies to the carriage bolts and flange nuts securing the cross support tubes to the cross supports.
Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. Do not expose hands, body parts, or clothing anywhere between the truck and trailer. Never position yourself or others under the trailer's kingpin area during coupling and uncoupling, as improperly coupled trailers can separate and drop without notice. Extreme care should be observed to avoid serious injury to yourself, property, and observers.
Forcing the handle closed may damage the locking bolt and handle, possibly resulting in trailer detachment. If the handles will not close with moderate pressure, you must adjust the locking T-bolt instead of forcing them.
Wax the product after installing to protect it. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives that could damage the finish. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or other similar products that may damage the finish.
If one or more locking handles will not close, you must adjust the locking T-bolts. Remove the cotter pin securing the castle nut above the handle. Loosen the castle nut 1/4-turn while pressing down on the T-bolt. Reattempt to close the locking handle. If the handle closes, re-secure the castle nut with the cotter pin. If the handle does not close, repeat the process, loosening the castle nut another 1/4-turn and pressing down on the T-bolt until the handle closes.
The CURT 16027 fits Chevrolet, GMC, and Ford trucks with bed puck mounts. For Chevrolet and GMC, handles face outward; for Ford, handles face inward. Confirm your truck has puck mounts before purchasing.
You need a ratchet, socket set, and torque wrench. A torque wrench is essential because all 1/2" bolts must be torqued to exactly 110 ft-lbs.
Yes, remove any puck caps from the truck bed if present. The hitch mounts directly into the truck's puck mounts.
Torque all 1/2" carriage bolts and flange nuts to 110 ft-lbs. using a torque wrench.
Gross trailer weight capacity is 25,000 lbs. with a vertical load capacity of 6,250 lbs. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's towing capacity.
Wax the hitch after installation and regularly thereafter using non-abrasive wax. Clean with mild automotive detergent only; avoid dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, and wire brushes.
If the handles will not close with moderate pressure, the locking T-bolts need adjustment. Remove the cotter pin from the castle nut above the handle. Loosen the castle nut 1/4-turn while pressing down on the T-bolt. Try closing the handle again. If it still does not close, repeat the process, loosening the castle nut another 1/4-turn. Once the handle closes, re-secure the castle nut with the cotter pin. Do not force the handle closed, as this may damage the locking bolt and handle.
