This replacement dual ball for the Rebellion XD ball mount is designed to mount onto the vertical shank. It has a 2" ball rated for 10,000 lbs. and a 2-5/16" ball rated for 15,000 lbs. The Rebellion XD adjustable ball mount is a leap forward in cushion hitch technology. It provides more control, confidence and a more comfortable ride, all while protecting your towing system from jerking, jarring and rattling. The Rebellion XD is not included in this package and must be purchased separately.

The CURT 45952 is a dual ball hitch mount that attaches to a trailer hitch receiver. It allows you to switch between a 2" ball (10,000 lbs capacity) and a 2-5/16" ball (15,000 lbs capacity) by adjusting the height on the shank. Gross trailer weight capacity is 15,000 lbs with 1,500 lbs tongue weight.
The CURT 45952 Rebellion™ XD dual ball mount supports both 2" balls (10,000 lbs capacity) and 2-5/16" balls (15,000 lbs capacity). You select which ball to use based on your trailer coupler size.
Gross trailer weight (GTW) is 15,000 lbs and tongue weight (TW) is 1,500 lbs. The 2" ball supports 10,000 lbs and the 2-5/16" ball supports 15,000 lbs. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
No tools are required for assembly. However, before towing, you must use a torque wrench with a 3/8" hex drive socket to torque hardware to 45-55 lb-ft.
Included: adjustable shank, dual ball, 2 pins, and 2 clips. Sold separately: the adjustable shank, pins, and clips. You must purchase these separately to complete the installation.
The manual rates installation difficulty as "Easy" and requires no tools for assembly. However, you must use a torque wrench with a 3/8" hex drive socket to torque hardware to 45-55 lb-ft before towing. The manual does not specify whether professional installation is recommended.
Level your trailer and measure from the bottom of the trailer tongue to the ground. Find the hole on the adjustable shank closest to that measurement. The dual ball will be centered on that hole when installed. This ensures proper hitch geometry for safe towing.
1. Insert the shank into the trailer hitch receiver and secure with a hitch pin and clip (sold separately). 2. Determine the correct ball height by measuring your trailer tongue. 3. Slide the dual ball onto the shank and align with the proper hole locations. 4. Angle the mount slightly upwards and press toward the shank. 5. Insert a pin into the top mount hole first. 6. Apply downward force to the mount and slide the second pin into place. 7. Secure all pins with the included clips. For the highest mounting position, install the bottom pin first with the mount angled downward, then apply upward force to install the second pin.
Slide the dual ball mount onto the shank and align with the proper hole locations based on your determined ball height. Angle the mount slightly upwards and press in toward the shank. Insert a pin into the top mount hole first. To pin the bottom mount hole, apply downward force to the mount and slide the second pin into place. Secure all pins with the included clips. Note: For the highest mounting position, install the bottom pin first with the mount angled downward, then apply upward force to install the second pin.
Using a torque wrench and 3/8" hex drive socket, torque hardware to 45-55 lb-ft. This must be done prior to towing to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound.
No. Never hook up trailer safety chains to the mount system. Ensure the safety chains operate freely around the mount system and do not become entangled. This is a critical safety requirement.
Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The CURT 45952 ratings (15,000 lbs GTW, 1,500 lbs tongue weight) represent the product's capability only. You must also respect the limits of your vehicle, trailer, and all other towing system components. Never exceed the limits of the lowest-rated component being used.
Use mild automotive detergent to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or other similar products that may damage the finish. Before each towing trip, ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound.
If replacement pins are needed, they must be replaced with original factory mount pins (CURT# 45959). The pins included with the Rebellion™ XD shank are specifically engineered for this system and other pins may not be safe or compatible.
