Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Yes, this hitch (part numbers 77255, 24761, 24873, 60289) fits the Fiat 500 Turbo. However, the Turbo model requires fascia trimming: the center fin must be trimmed flush and horizontal to the lower edge of the bumper, removing approximately 1 1/4 inch of material.
Yes, this hitch (part numbers 77255, 24761, 24873, 60289) fits the Fiat 500c convertible without fascia trimming required.
Wrenches: 7/8 inch, M8, and M13. A torque wrench is required to tighten fasteners to specification. Spray lubricant is recommended. Fish wire is included. No drill bits are required.
If your Fiat 500 has a spare tire, you must lower it before raising the vehicle. If a spare tire lift is present, you remove two M8 screws and one M8 nut to lower it, then fish the wiring through the existing hole in the frame. The spare tire lift is then replaced. The spare tire itself does not need to be fully removed.
Yes. The muffler must be lowered by removing two pins from the two rubber mounts at the rear of the muffler. Lubricating the pins and gently pulling the exhaust rearward makes this easier.
All 1/2 inch fasteners must be tightened to 50 Lb.-ft. (68 N·m) using a torque wrench.
All M8 fasteners must be tightened to 20 Lb.-ft. (27 N·m) using a torque wrench.
Maximum gross trailer weight is 2000 LB (908 Kg). Maximum tongue weight is 200 LB (91 Kg). Do not exceed the lower of the hitch rating or your vehicle manufacturer's towing rating.
Yes. The drawbar must be used in the rise position only. The drawbar kit is sold separately (part number 3593).
The hitch kit includes: 4 carriage bolts (1/2–13 x 4.00 gr5), 2 mounting plates (3-1/16 x 6-3/4 x 3/16 inch), 5 conical toothed washers (1/2 inch), 5 nuts (1/2–13), 1 carriage bolt (1/2–13 x 1-3/4 gr5), 1 block (1 x 3 x 1/4 inch), 2 flat washers (1/2 inch), 1 M8 bolt (M8x1.25 x 30mm), 1 conical toothed washer (3/8 inch), and fish wire. The fastener kit (part number 24873F) is available separately if additional fasteners are needed.
Yes. The manual includes instructions for installation on vehicles without a spare tire lift. In this case, the block (item o) is used instead, and the wiring is routed through the forward attachment hole without using the spare tire lift mechanism.
1. Lower spare tire if present and raise vehicle. 2. If spare tire lift exists, lower it and route fish wire through the frame hole. 3. Remove two fascia mounting screws from fascia supports. 4. Lower muffler by removing pins from rubber mounts. 5. Place mounting plates on bumper support and install carriage bolts. 6. Pull fascia down, slide hitch between fascia and support, install washer, and thread fish wire through bracket hole. On Turbo models, trim the center fin flush and horizontal to the lower edge of the bumper. 7. Raise hitch into place, loosely install washers and nuts on bolts, pull fish wire with bolt into position, remove fish wire, install washer and nut, then install M8 bolt and washer through bracket into frame weld nut. 8. Push hitch forward and tighten all fasteners to specification.
The fish wire (included) is used to route wiring through the frame. If a spare tire lift is present, the fish wire is inserted through the existing hole in the frame along with wiring items 5 and 6, then left attached to the bolt. During hitch installation, the fish wire is threaded through the proper hole in the bracket, then pulled to position the bolt. Once the bolt is in position, the fish wire is removed and the washer and nut are installed.
Feeding the mounting plate from the center with the outer bolt already in place makes installation easier. This positioning helps align the plate on the bumper support before fully seating all fasteners.
No. The manual specifies that no drill bits are required. The hitch uses existing holes in the frame and bumper support for attachment.
On Turbo models only, the center fin of the fascia must be trimmed flush and horizontal to the lower edge of the bumper. Approximately 1 1/4 inch of material is removed from the center fin area. This trimming is performed during Step 6 of installation.
No. Fascia trimming is required only for the Fiat 500 Turbo model. The standard 500 and 500c convertible do not require fascia trimming.
No. The manual explicitly states: "Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch." Use appropriate cutting tools for the fascia trimming.
Two types of carriage bolts are used: 4 bolts of 1/2–13 x 4.00 gr5 (grade 5), and 1 bolt of 1/2–13 x 1-3/4 gr5. All 1/2 inch carriage bolts are tightened to 50 Lb.-ft. (68 N·m).
One M8 bolt (M8x1.25 x 30mm) is used to attach the bracket to the frame weld nut. It is tightened to 20 Lb.-ft. (27 N·m) and is installed with a conical toothed washer (3/8 inch).
Two types of washers are used: 5 conical toothed washers (1/2 inch) used with the 1/2 inch fasteners, 2 flat washers (1/2 inch), and 1 conical toothed washer (3/8 inch) used with the M8 bolt. Conical toothed washers provide locking action to prevent fastener loosening.
Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A damaged hitch or ball must be removed and replaced immediately.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual does not specify a particular retorque interval, but recommends regular inspection to maintain safety and prevent loosening during use.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. If the hitch is removed at any time, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. Damaged hitches or balls must be removed and replaced.
The wiring access locations are PC1 and PC2. However, the manual does not provide detailed information about these locations, wiring diagrams, connector types, wire colours, or electrical specifications. Contact the manufacturer or an authorized installer for wiring details.
Yes. The drawbar is sold separately (part number 3593). The drawbar must be used in the rise position only and is required to connect a trailer to the hitch.
