On 2002 and later models, yes—the fascia must be trimmed as shown in Figure 3. The trim is 5.50" tall × 5.25" wide on the inner fascia layer. On earlier models, trimming may not be required. After trimming, you may return the fascia door to the vehicle owner or trim it to fit the hitch. You must consult the vehicle owner before trimming the fascia door.
All 3/8-16 GR5 fasteners must be tightened to 30 Lb.-Ft. (41 N·M) using a torque wrench.
