Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Equip your vehicle for towing and hitch-mounted accessories with a dependable CURT 2" trailer hitch. Designed for a vehicle-specific fit, CURT receiver hitches provide a strong and secure connection point for towing trailers, carrying bikes, transporting cargo and using other compatible 2-inch hitch accessories.
Our selection of CURT 2-inch receiver hitches includes options for trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and passenger vehicles. Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

Yes. Part numbers 76590, 84590, and CQT76590 are designed for 2021-current Mercedes GLE350. Visit the manufacturer's website for the most up-to-date information regarding application years and trim levels.
Maximum Gross Trailer Weight is 8000 lb (3628 kg) and maximum tongue weight is 800 lb (362.8 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your vehicle manufacturer's towing rating or these limits.
Required tools: ratchet, torque wrench, sockets (8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 18 mm), 6-inch socket extension, T30 Torx bit, flat head screwdriver, die grinder, plastic trim tools, tape measure, marker, and masking tape. Safety glasses are mandatory.
Professional installation is recommended. Average installation time for professional installers is 1 hour 30 minutes. If you do not feel comfortable performing this installation on your own or need assistance, contact a professional installer.
No drilling is required. The hitch uses factory M12 studs on the end panel. However, the fascia bottom cover must be trimmed using a die grinder, measuring 5¼ inches and 6½ inches as shown in Figure 2.
All M12x1.5 fasteners must be tightened to 68 ft-lb (92 N·m) using a torque wrench.
If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. DO NOT apply your brakes and DO NOT speed up.
Check all fasteners are tight and your hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle periodically. Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened.
No. The tow eye will be inoperative after bumper beam removal, which is required for hitch installation. Use the chain ring on the hitch as an alternative for towing.
Eight (8) factory M12 flange nuts are used to attach the hitch to the studs on the end panel. These fasteners are installed loosely first, then tightened to 68 ft-lb (92 N·m) using a torque wrench.
1. Remove fascia (8 bolts from bottom, 3 rivets outside wheel well, 1 rivet inside wheel well, 1 bolt inside wheel well per side, tailgate trim, plastic covers, cargo tie hook bolts, and taillights). 2. Remove bumper beam (4 M12 flange nuts per side). 3. Raise hitch into position aligning holes to studs on end panel. 4. Loosely install 8 factory M12 flange nuts. 5. Tighten all M12x1.5 fasteners to 68 ft-lb (92 N·m). 6. Trim fascia bottom cover using die grinder (5¼ inches and 6½ inches per Figure 2). 7. Reinstall fascia, taillights, plastic covers, trim, and all fasteners.
The following must be removed: (1) rear fascia with all associated bolts and rivets, (2) wheel well liners (3 rivets outside, 1 rivet inside, 1 bolt inside per side), (3) rear trim panel and plastic trim, (4) plastic covers from driver and passenger side panels, (5) cargo tie hook bolt covers and bolts (1 per side), (6) taillights (3 hex nuts per side), and (7) bumper beam (4 M12 flange nuts per side).
The bottom cover of the fascia must be trimmed. Using a tape measure, marker, and die grinder, measure and mark the trim line at 5¼ inches and 6½ inches from the vehicle centerline as shown in Figure 2, then grind away the excess material.
The 8 factory M12 flange nuts should be installed loosely first to align the hitch to the studs on the end panel. Only after the hitch is properly positioned should all M12x1.5 fasteners be tightened to 68 ft-lb (92 N·m) using a torque wrench.
Four socket sizes are required: 8 mm (for taillights), 10 mm (for fascia bolts and wheel well liner bolts), 12 mm (for cargo tie hook bolts), and 18 mm (for bumper beam flange nuts). A 6-inch socket extension is also needed for the 8 mm socket.
To remove: Remove the cover from the passenger side panel. Using an 8 mm socket with extension, remove the 3 hex nuts that hold the taillight from behind the panel (per side). Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the taillights. To reinstall: Reconnect the wiring harness and reinstall the taillights with the 3 hex nuts, then replace the panel cover.
Using an 18 mm socket, remove the 4 M12 flange nuts from the bolts of the bumper beam on the end panel (2 per side). Carefully remove the bumper beam and return it to the vehicle owner.
Using a flat head screwdriver, remove 3 rivets from the outside of the wheel well liner and 1 rivet from the inside of the wheel well liner per side. Using a 10 mm socket, remove 1 bolt from inside the wheel well liner per side.
Remove the plastic cover from both driver and passenger side panels. Using a plastic trim tool, remove the bolt cover from the cargo tie hook. Using a 12 mm socket, remove 1 bolt from that hook per side.
1. Using a 10 mm socket, remove 8 bolts from the bottom of the fascia. 2. Remove wheel well liners (3 rivets outside, 1 rivet inside, 1 bolt inside per side). 3. Open tailgate and remove rear trim panel (1 T30 Torx screw at center). 4. Remove plastic covers and cargo tie hook bolts. 5. Remove taillights (3 hex nuts per side). 6. Use plastic trim tools to remove the fascia starting at the outer edges near the wheel wells and gently pull. Disconnect the wiring harness while removing the fascia.
The maximum tongue weight is 800 lb (362.8 kg). Do not exceed this limit or the lower of your vehicle manufacturer's towing rating.
Load the trailer heavier in front. This helps maintain proper weight distribution and stability while towing.
Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. Always read and follow all warnings and instructions for your vehicle and other accessories used with the hitch before use.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced immediately. Do not continue towing with a damaged hitch or ball.
No. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. Use appropriate tools such as a die grinder for trimming the fascia.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection.
The manual lists weight distributing hitch specifications as N/A for this application. Only the weight carrying version (8000 lb GVWR, 800 lb tongue weight) is available for the 2021-current Mercedes GLE350.
The manual instructs to disconnect the wiring harness while removing the fascia and reconnect it during reinstallation. Specific connector details are not provided in the manual. Refer to the vehicle's electrical documentation or contact technical support at 800-632-3290 for detailed wiring information.
Check that all fasteners are tight. Using a torque wrench, verify that all M12x1.5 fasteners are tightened to exactly 68 ft-lb (92 N·m). If any fasteners are loose, retighten them to the specified torque. Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and ball remain properly tightened.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
