Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Equip your vehicle for towing and hitch-mounted accessories with a dependable CURT 2" trailer hitch. Designed for a vehicle-specific fit, CURT receiver hitches provide a strong and secure connection point for towing trailers, carrying bikes, transporting cargo and using other compatible 2-inch hitch accessories.
Our selection of CURT 2-inch receiver hitches includes options for trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and passenger vehicles. Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.
Shop CURT 2-inch trailer hitches at TowUniverse for vehicle-specific fitment, trusted towing performance and access to the accessories needed to complete your towing setup.

Yes. Part number 75992 is compatible with 2007-2015 Lincoln MKX models. Your 2015 MKX is within the supported year range.
No. The 75992 hitch is explicitly designed for 2007-2014 Ford Edge models but excludes the sport model. You will need to contact the manufacturer at 800-632-3290 or TechnicalSupport@cequentgroup.com to determine if an alternative part number is available for the sport model.
The maximum gross trailer weight is 4000 lb (1816 kg) and the maximum tongue weight is 400 lb (182 kg) for both weight-carrying and weight-distributing hitch types. However, you must not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
You will need: a ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, sockets (8 mm and 3/4 inch), a flat-head screwdriver, a drill with a 17/32 inch drill bit, and tin snips. You will also need an exhaust support stand to prevent damaging the muffler when lowering the exhaust.
The average installation time is 55 minutes for professional installers. If you do not feel comfortable performing the installation on your own or need assistance, contact a professional installer.
Yes. You must drill 17/32 inch holes through the frame rails using the rearmost hole on each side of the hitch bracket as a template. A drill with a 17/32 inch bit is required equipment.
Yes. You must trim the tab off the heat shield on both sides of the vehicle using tin snips, as shown in Figure 3. This is a required modification to allow proper hitch installation.
The exhaust must be lowered, not fully removed. Lower the exhaust by removing three rubber isolators and use an exhaust support stand to prevent damaging the muffler. After installing the hitch, raise the exhaust back into position.
The fastener kit 75992F includes: six carriage bolts (½-13 x 1.50 GR5), six spacers (.250 x 1 x 3), six conical washers (½ inch), and six hex nuts (½-13 GR2). Pull wires are also provided to assist with installation.
All ½-13 GR5 fasteners must be tightened to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N·M) using a torque wrench. This applies to both the initial fastening and the final tightening after drilling the frame rail holes.
The kink wire method is a technique shown in Figure 4 to feed the carriage bolt and spacer through the notch in the bottom of the frame rails. You kink (bend) the pull wire to keep the spacer independent of the bolt, allowing the fasteners to be inserted through the wide notch on the outside end of both rails.
The heat shield must be sandwiched between the hitch and the frame rail. After trimming the tab off the heat shield on both sides, reinstall the heat shields without the two screws that attach to the frame rails on each side. Return those four screws to the vehicle owner.
Always wear safety glasses during installation. Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. Use an exhaust support stand when lowering the exhaust to prevent damaging the muffler. Proper torque is essential to keep the hitch secure during towing.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. Load the trailer heavier in front. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
No. The manual explicitly states: do not cut, weld, or modify this receiver. Any modifications will void the warranty and may compromise safety.
Check all fasteners periodically to ensure they are tight and the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but recommends frequent checking.
