Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Our selection of CURT 2-inch receiver hitches includes options for trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and passenger vehicles. Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

Maximum Gross Trailer Weight is 3500 lb (1589 kg) and maximum tongue weight is 525 lb (239 kg) for this weight-carrying hitch. Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
No. The manual explicitly states: Do NOT Use With Spring Bars.
Required tools: ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, 11/16" deep socket, and flat-head screwdriver. Optional tools: 9" socket extension, universal joint socket, lubricant or soapy water, pry bar, and exhaust removal pliers.
No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing holes in the frame rails. Three plastic plugs must be removed from existing holes and returned to the vehicle owner.
The exhaust system must be lowered at the 3 rubber isolators during installation, then raised and reattached after the hitch is secured. It does not need to be fully removed. Spraying lubricant on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator helps with removal and reinstallation.
All 7/16 GR5 carriage bolts must be tightened to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M) using a torque wrench.
If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. DO NOT apply your brakes and DO NOT speed up.
The fastener kit includes: 4 carriage bolts (7/16-14 × 1.75 GR5), 4 spacers (.250 × .875 × 3), 4 conical washers (7/16"), 4 hex nuts (7/16-14 GR2), 2 round-hole spacers (.250 × 1.5 × 2), and 4 pull wires (7/16").
Pull wires are used to guide the carriage bolts and spacers through the frame holes during installation. The coiled end of the pull wire is fed through the rearmost hole in the frame, and the spacer and carriage bolt are attached to it. The pull wire is then used to pull the fastener assembly through the frame and out the access hole. After the hitch is positioned, the pull wires are removed and hex nuts are attached to secure the bolts.
The conical washer should be installed with the teeth side against the hitch. The washer is used to hold the bolt in place before the hex nut is attached.
1. Remove 3 plastic plugs from existing frame rail holes. 2. Lower exhaust system at 3 rubber isolators. 3. Install rear fasteners by feeding pull wire through rearmost hole, attaching spacer and carriage bolt, then pulling through access hole. 4. Install forward fasteners by attaching carriage bolt to pull wire, sliding spacer onto wire, inserting into forward access hole, then pulling back out. 5. Raise hitch into position and feed pull wires through corresponding slots with round-hole spacer between frame and hitch bracket at forward attachment. 6. Install conical washer (teeth against hitch), remove pull wires, and attach hex nuts. 7. Tighten all fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M). 8. Raise and reattach exhaust system.
The round-hole spacer (item 5) should be positioned between the frame and the hitch bracket at the forward attachment point. It is placed on the pull wire before the hitch is raised into position.
The pull wires should be removed after the hitch is raised into position and the conical washer is installed, but before the hex nut is attached. Once the hex nut is attached and all fasteners are tightened to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M), the installation is complete.
The manual does not specify whether battery disconnection is necessary for this installation.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
Check that all fasteners are tight and the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. Verify that the hitch ball is properly tightened. The manual recommends checking the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and ball remain properly tightened.
The manual states: Check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. No specific interval is provided.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not continue using a damaged hitch.
The average installation time for professional installers is 20 minutes. If you do not feel comfortable performing this installation on your own or are in need of assistance, please contact a professional installer.

Spray a lubricant on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator to help with removal and reinstallation. Alternatively, soapy water can be used. The manual lists lubricant or soapy water as optional equipment.
A pry bar or exhaust hanger tool may be helpful when lowering the exhaust system at the 3 rubber isolators. These are listed as optional equipment.
Three (3) plastic plugs must be removed from existing holes in the frame rails. These plugs should be returned to the vehicle owner. A flat-headed screwdriver may be used if necessary.
The exhaust system is supported by 3 rubber isolators. All three must be lowered during 76084 hitch installation to provide clearance for the hitch.
There are 4 fastener attachment points (2 rear and 2 forward, one on each side of the vehicle). Each attachment point uses a carriage bolt, spacer, conical washer, and hex nut.

The conical washers are 7/16" in size. Four washers are included in the fastener kit.
The pull wires are 7/16" in size. Four pull wires are included in the fastener kit.
The hitch is available under three part numbers: 76084, 84084, and CQT76084. All three part numbers refer to the same product with the same installation instructions.
Always wear your seatbelt. Load the trailer heavier in front. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or the hitch's maximum capacity (3500 lb GVWR, 525 lb tongue weight). If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
The 76084 hitch complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
