Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Equip your vehicle for towing and hitch-mounted accessories with a dependable CURT 2" trailer hitch. Designed for a vehicle-specific fit, CURT receiver hitches provide a strong and secure connection point for towing trailers, carrying bikes, transporting cargo and using other compatible 2-inch hitch accessories.
Our selection of CURT 2-inch receiver hitches includes options for trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and passenger vehicles. Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.
Shop CURT 2-inch trailer hitches at TowUniverse for vehicle-specific fitment, trusted towing performance and access to the accessories needed to complete your towing setup.

Yes, the 76143 hitch is designed for 2016-Current Tesla Model X. For the most up-to-date information regarding specific application years and trim levels, visit the Cequent website.
The 76143 is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 5000 lb (2270 kg) and maximum tongue weight of 750 lb (341 kg). However, you must not exceed the lower of your Tesla's towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
Required tools include: 10 mm and 15 mm sockets, ratchet, torque wrench, T25 and T30 Torx bits, flat-head screwdriver, socket extension, tape measure, marker, utility knife, plastic trim tools, and safety glasses.
The average installation time for professional installers is 75 minutes. If you do not feel comfortable performing the installation on your own or need assistance, contact a professional installer.
Yes. Step 4 of the installation requires using a 15 mm socket to remove 8 flange nuts (4 per side) and remove the bumper beam. The bumper beam should be returned to the vehicle owner.
Yes. Two permanent trimming operations are required: (1) Cut a notch in the lower part of the fascia underbody panel approximately 3-1/2" wide × 2-1/2" deep, centered on the vehicle (Step 5). (2) Cut a notch in the hitch access panel approximately 3-1/2" wide × 4-1/2" deep (Step 9). Use a tape measure, marker, and utility knife. Do not use a torch to cut these holes.
All CL10 hex flange nuts must be tightened to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M) using a torque wrench.
Eight (8) CL10 hex flange nuts attach the hitch to the bumper studs—4 per side. These are existing M10 flange nuts on the end panel. The hitch holes align with these studs, and the nuts are loosely installed first (Step 6) then tightened to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M) (Step 7).
1. Remove forward underbody panel (19 screws, do not remove 3 forward-most screws). 2. Remove hitch access panel (2 push pin rivets). 3. Remove fascia (multiple fasteners and wiring). 4. Remove bumper beam (8 flange nuts). 5. Trim fascia notch (3-1/2" × 2-1/2"). 6. Install hitch by aligning holes with studs and loosely install 8 nuts. 7. Tighten all nuts to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M). 8. Reinstall fascia, wiring, and trim using original hardware. 9. Trim hitch access panel notch (3-1/2" × 4-1/2").
Remove 19 screws and flat washers holding the forward underbody panel to the rear underbody panel. Four of these screws are located in the wheel well area horizontally (2 per side). Do not remove the 3 forward-most screws from the panel. Support the panel as needed.
Fascia fasteners include: (2) T30 Torx screws from rear underbody panel, (2) 10 mm flange nuts from wheel well liner per side, (2) push pin rivets from wheel well liner per side, (1) T25 Torx screw vertically in upper fascia area behind wheel well liner per side, and (1) 10 mm screw per side holding fascia near the liftgate bump stop. All original hardware must be reused when reinstalling the fascia in Step 8.
Yes. In Step 3i, disconnect the 2 wiring harnesses from the fascia and set the fascia aside. In Step 8, be sure to reconnect all wiring harnesses when reinstalling the fascia.
The manual requires opening the rear liftgate and removing the 2 plastic liftgate bump stops (Step 3f) to access the fascia fasteners. This allows the molding near the bump stop to be lifted so that the fascia-holding screw can be removed from each side (Step 3g).
Two push pin rivets must be removed: (2) from the hitch access panel in Step 2, and (2) from the wheel well liner in Step 3c. These are removed using a flat-head screwdriver.
The fascia notch must be cut in the lower part of the fascia underbody panel approximately 3-1/2" wide × 2-1/2" deep, centered on the vehicle. Use a tape measure, marker, and utility knife. See Figure 2 for the centered location.
The hitch access panel notch must be approximately 3-1/2" wide × 4-1/2" deep. Use a tape measure, marker, and utility knife. See Figure 3 for the centered location. Alternatively, you may return the hitch access panel and 2 push pin rivets to the vehicle owner instead of trimming.
Yes. Step 9 offers an alternative: you may return the hitch access panel and 2 push pin rivets to the vehicle owner instead of cutting the notch.
Loosely install the 8 hex flange nuts first in Step 6 after aligning the hitch holes with the bumper studs. Then tighten all CL10 hex flange nuts to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M) in Step 7 using a torque wrench.
Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
Load the trailer heavier in front. Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or 5000 lb GVWR / 750 lb tongue weight. Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
No. Do not cut, weld, or modify this receiver.

Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners are properly tightened. If fasteners have loosened, retighten all CL10 hex flange nuts to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M) using a torque wrench. Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
If the hitch has been removed and holes in the trunk pan or body panels were not plugged, water and exhaust fumes may enter. Plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
