Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Equip your vehicle for towing and hitch-mounted accessories with a dependable CURT 2" trailer hitch. Our selection of CURT 2-inch receiver hitches includes options for trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and passenger vehicles. Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

This weight-carrying hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight of 4500 lb. (2041 kg) and maximum tongue weight of 675 lb. (306 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
Required tools: ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, 3/4" and 7 mm sockets, 6" socket extension, exhaust hanger removal tool, die grinder, tape measure, utility knife, marker, tin snips, and pliers. Installation time is approximately 60 minutes for professional installers.
Yes. You must lower the vehicle exhaust by removing the rearmost driver-side and rearmost passenger-side rubber hangers using an exhaust hanger removal tool. Ensure the exhaust is supported before removing the hangers. Spray lubricant or soapy water on the rubber hangers to make removal easier.
Yes. You must enlarge the existing access holes using a die grinder to fit a 1/2" carriage bolt on both sides of the vehicle. Additionally, the heat shield must be trimmed (4 screws removed), and for Ford Escape only, the lower fascia must be trimmed using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife as shown in the manual.
All 1/2"-13 Grade 5 fasteners must be tightened to 75 Ft.Lb. (102 N·M) using a torque wrench. Proper torque is essential to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fume entry.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Periodically verify that all fasteners remain tight and the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle.
The fastener kit 76449F includes: (4) carriage bolts 1/2"-13 x 1 3/4" Grade 5; (4) spacers 1/4" x 1" x 3"; (2) flat washers 1/2"; (4) conical washers 1/2"; (4) hex nuts 1/2" Grade 5; and (4) pull wires 1/2"-13.
Yes, part numbers 76449, 84449, and CQT76449 are designed for 2020-Current Lincoln Corsair. The heat shield trimming procedure differs slightly from the Ford Escape; follow Figure 3 (Lincoln Corsair trim line) instead of Figure 2. For specific trim level compatibility, visit www.horizonglobal.com.
No. The heat shield can be trimmed without full removal. Remove the (4) screws securing the heat shield, trim it as shown in Figure 2 (Ford Escape) or Figure 3 (Lincoln Corsair), and return the screws and trimmed area to the vehicle owner.
No. Lower fascia trimming is required for Ford Escape only. For Lincoln Corsair, this step is not necessary. Use a tape measure, marker, and utility knife to measure, mark, and trim the lower fascia on the Escape as shown in Figure 4.
Pull wires (1/2"-13) are used to feed the carriage bolts and spacers into the vehicle frame rails through the access holes. The pull wires are left attached initially, then used to feed the previously installed pull wire through the hitch bracket slot. After the hitch is raised into position, the pull wires are removed before the conical washer and hex nut are installed.
The conical washer must be installed with the teeth side against the hitch. This is shown in Figure 5 of the manual.
No. When installing the hitch, the conical washer and hex nut should be loosely installed initially. All 1/2"-13 Grade 5 fasteners are then tightened together to 75 Ft.Lb. (102 N·M) using a torque wrench in Step 6.
The access holes must be enlarged using a die grinder to be big enough to fit a 1/2" carriage bolt on both sides of the vehicle. The manual does not specify the original hole size, only that it must accommodate the 1/2" carriage bolt after enlargement.
The spacers are 1/4" x 1" x 3" (quantity 4). They are fed into the vehicle frame rails along with the carriage bolts through the access holes.
The carriage bolts are 1/2"-13 x 1 3/4" Grade 5 (quantity 4). They are fed through the access holes in the frame rails and secured with conical washers and hex nuts.
If excess sway occurs while towing, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
Load the trailer heavier in front. This helps maintain proper weight distribution and stability while towing.
Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. Always wear your seatbelt while towing.
The average installation time is 60 minutes for professional installers. If you do not feel comfortable performing this installation on your own or are in need of assistance, please contact a professional installer.
No. Do not cut, weld, or modify this receiver. Doing so may compromise the structural integrity and safety of the hitch.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not continue to use a damaged hitch.
Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Periodically verify that all fasteners remain tight and the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle.
Fasteners that are not tightened to the proper torque specification of 75 Ft.Lb. (102 N·M) may loosen over time. Additionally, fasteners that are not periodically checked and retightened may work loose during towing. Always use a torque wrench to achieve proper torque and check fasteners frequently to ensure they remain tight.
If the rubber exhaust hangers are difficult to remove, spray a lubricant or soapy water on the rubber hangers. This makes them slide off the metal pins more easily. Ensure the exhaust is properly supported before attempting removal.
Use a die grinder to enlarge the access holes on both sides of the vehicle until they are big enough to fit the 1/2" carriage bolt. The manual specifies that the holes must be enlarged to accommodate the 1/2" carriage bolt.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
