Yes. Using a 7 mm socket and flat head screwdriver, remove (8) screws and (1) rivet from the bottom appearance panel on the passenger side of the vehicle. Return (2) screws to the vehicle owner. The panel is reinstalled after hitch installation.
Yes. Using a 19 mm socket, remove (2) M12 bolts from the bottom surface of the chassis on both sides of the vehicle before installing the hitch.
The pull wires (part ⑤) are used to feed the carriage bolts and spacers through the frame access holes during installation. Feed one carriage bolt and one spacer through the access hole using the pull wires on both sides of the vehicle, then leave the pull wires attached. After raising the hitch, feed the pull wire through the hitch bracket slot, then remove the pull wires before installing the conical washers and hex nuts.
The conical washer teeth side must be against the hitch. This applies to both the 7/16" conical washers used with the carriage bolts and the 1/2" conical washers used with the M12 bolts.
All fasteners are installed loosely before final tightening. This includes: the 7/16" conical washers and hex nuts on both sides of the hitch, the M12 bolt and 1/2" conical washer on the driver side, and the three M12 bolts and 1/2" conical washers in the remaining holes. Final tightening with a torque wrench occurs in steps 5 and 6.
All M12 fasteners must be tightened to 68 Ft.-Lb (92 N·M) using a torque wrench.

Torque all M12 fasteners to 68 Ft.-Lb (92 N·M). 6. Torque all 7/16" fasteners to 50 Ft.-Lb (68 N·M). 7. Trim appearance panel with die grinder and reinstall. 8. Reinstall exhaust rubber hangers and muffler.
Three spacers (⑧⑧⑨) are inserted between the offset bracket tab and the mounting surface on the driver side. Specifically: (2) spacers .250" x 1.50" x 3.00" and (1) spacer .375" x 1.50" x 3.00" are used with the M12 bolt on the driver side.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Support the exhaust before removing rubber hangers. Do not cut access holes with a torch. Keep the installation instructions for future reference.
Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. Load the trailer heavier in front. Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or 4500 lb GVWR / 675 lb tongue weight. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
Check that all fasteners are tight and the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing. Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened.
