Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

Yes, part number 76601 is designed for 2015-Current Honda HR-V models. Visit the manufacturer's website at www.horizonglobal.com for the most up-to-date information regarding specific application years and trim levels, as compatibility may vary.
Yes, the 76601 hitch is compatible with front-wheel-drive HR-V models. However, the lower underbody panel may need to be trimmed or completely removed to accommodate the hitch installation, as shown in Figure 5 of the manual.
The 76601 is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 2000 lb (908 kg) and a maximum tongue weight of 300 lb (136 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
You will need a ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, 11/16" and 3/4" sockets, and a 6" socket extension. Safety glasses are mandatory during installation.
The fastener kit 76601F includes: one 7/16-14 x 1.50 GR5 carriage bolt, one 1/4 x 7/8 x 3 spacer, one 7/16" conical washer, one 7/16-14 hex nut, one 7/16 pull wire, one 1/2-13 x 1.50 GR5 hex bolt, one 1/2-13 handle nut, one 1/2" conical washer, one 3/8-16 U-bolt, two 3/8" flat washers, two 3/8" lock washers, and two 3/8-16 hex nuts.
The manual does not specify that the battery must be disconnected for this hitch installation.
Yes. The first installation step is to lower the exhaust by detaching it from the rubber isolators (qty. 2). Spraying lubricant on the rubber isolators eases removal. The exhaust is then reattached after the hitch is secured.
On front-wheel-drive models, the lower underbody panel may need to be trimmed as shown in Figure 5, or it may need to be completely removed to install the hitch. The specific trimming requirements depend on your vehicle's configuration.
1. Lower the exhaust by detaching rubber isolators. 2. Install the 7/16" bolt and spacer into the driver-side frame rail using the pull wire procedure. 3. Raise the hitch into position while feeding the pull wire through the driver-side attachment slot. 4. Hang the U-bolt around the tow hook and through the chain plate holes, install flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts; center the hitch. 5. Feed the 7/16" conical washer over the pull wire, remove the pull wire, and attach the 7/16" hex nut. 6. Insert the handle nut through the passenger-side access hole, align with the attachment slot, and install the 1/2" hex bolt and conical washer. 7. Tighten all fasteners to specification. 8. Bend exhaust hanger spears downward 1/2" and reattach the exhaust.
Insert the 7/16" bolt and spacer into the driver-side frame rail using the pull wire. Kink the pull wire to keep the spacer independent of the bolt (as shown in Figure 2). Leave the pull wire attached. Later, raise the hitch into position while feeding the pull wire through the attachment slot on the driver side of the hitch. Then feed the 7/16" conical washer over the pull wire, use the washer to hold the bolt in place, remove the pull wires, and attach the 7/16" hex nut.
Using pliers, grip the end of the handle nut and bend approximately the last 1/2" of the handle downward with pliers for ease of installation. Insert the handle nut through the access hole in the passenger-side frame rail, align it with the attachment slot in the passenger-side bracket, and install the 1/2" hex bolt and conical washer (with teeth side against the hitch) through the side bracket, frame rail, and into the handle nut.
After hanging the U-bolt around the tow hook and through the chain plate holes behind the receiver and installing the 3/8" flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts, center the hitch on the vehicle before tightening the fasteners.
The manual does not indicate that drilling is required. The hitch uses existing frame rail holes and access holes. However, on front-wheel-drive models, the lower underbody panel may need to be trimmed or removed.
No. The manual explicitly states: "Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch."
Yes. After the hitch is installed and tightened, bend the exhaust hanger spears downward 1/2" for additional muffler clearance (Figure 4) before reattaching the exhaust.
Tighten 7/16-14 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M), 1/2-13 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M), and 3/8-16 fasteners to 30 Lb.-Ft. (41 N·M) using a torque wrench.
Tighten 7/16-14 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M) using a torque wrench.
Tighten 1/2-13 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M) using a torque wrench.
Tighten 3/8-16 fasteners to 30 Lb.-Ft. (41 N·M) using a torque wrench.
The 76601 hitch uses two conical washers: one 7/16" conical washer and one 1/2" conical washer. The 1/2" conical washer must be installed with the teeth side against the hitch.
Always wear safety glasses during installation. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A damaged hitch or ball should be removed and replaced immediately.
If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
Load the trailer heavier in front. This helps maintain proper weight distribution and stability while towing.
Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. Always wear your seatbelt while towing.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing. Periodically verify that all fasteners remain tight and that the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle.
Check all fasteners periodically to ensure they are tight and the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but recommends frequent checking.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
