Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

The Draw-tite Class 2 Trailer Hitch, 1-1/4" Square Receiver, Black for Select Ford EcoSport 36660 (Part #DT36660) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes, part number 36660 is designed for 2018-Current Ford EcoSport models. However, visit www.cequentgroup.com for the most up-to-date information regarding specific application years and trim levels, as compatibility may vary.
The 36660 is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 3500 lb (1589 kg) and maximum tongue weight of 350 lb (159 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
Required tools include: ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, sockets (5.5mm, 10mm, 15mm, 17mm, 3/4"), 6" socket extension, exhaust removal pliers, utility knife, tape measure, and marker. Lubrication is also needed for exhaust isolator removal.
Fastener kit 36660F includes: (4) M10x1.5x35mm CL10.9 hex bolts (item j), (4) 3/8" conical washers part# 01292006 (item k), (2) 1/2"-13 x 1.5" GR5 hex bolts (item l), (2) 1/2" flat washers (item m), (2) 1/2" lock washers (item n), and (2) 1/2"-13 handle nuts part# 1332 (item o).
Yes. You must lower the exhaust by removing the rubber isolators from the hangers using exhaust removal pliers and lubrication. The 1.0L turbo has one hanger on the passenger side; the 2.0L has hangers on each side. Remove the passenger side isolator from the top hanger and the driver side isolator from the bottom hanger. The exhaust is raised and reattached after hitch installation.
If an underbody panel is installed, it must be trimmed to accommodate the hitch. The panel is removed before installation (10 screws with 5.5mm socket and 2 plastic nuts with 10mm socket), then trimmed according to Figure 2 specifications and reinstalled. If the panel is not installed, this step is not required.
Raise the hitch over the passenger side hanger first, then raise the hitch over the driver side hanger, and slide it into place. This sequence prevents interference with both exhaust hangers.
Items j and k (M10x1.5x35mm bolts and conical washers) install onto the existing weld nuts on the frame rail. Item o (handle nut) is formed and inserted into the access hole, then items l, m, and n (1/2" hex bolt, flat washer, and lock washer) are installed through the attachment hole. The conical washer teeth side must face against the hitch.
Torque all 1/2"-13 GR5 fasteners to 50 Lb-Ft (68 N·m) and all 10mm-1.5 CL10.9 fasteners to 38 Lb-Ft (52 N·m). Proper torque is essential to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing weld nuts on the frame rail and an existing access hole. If an underbody panel is installed, it must be trimmed using a utility knife according to Figure 2 specifications, but no drilling of the vehicle frame is necessary.
Using the 10mm fastener holes as reference, measure 4 5/16" from the passenger side attachment hole and mark the center line. Trim a 5 1/2" × 6" section in the center/rear of the panel. Then trim a 2" section 20 5/16" from the center line toward the passenger side, leaving a 1" tab in the rear to reattach to the fascia. Then trim a 2" section 17 1/4" from the center line toward the driver side, leaving a 1" tab in the rear to reattach to the fascia. See Figure 2 for visual reference.
Always wear safety glasses during installation. Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If extra clearance is needed, you may disconnect the electrical wire from the driver side frame rail by pulling down on the attachment housing, but reconnect it after installation. Ensure all fasteners are tight before use.
The authorized drawbar is part number 36071 (sold separately). The drawbar must be used in the RISE position only.
Check that all fasteners are tight and the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. Verify that the ball is properly tightened. Check the hitch frequently during use to ensure fasteners remain tight. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual does not specify an exact retorque interval, but periodic inspection is required to maintain safe towing.
Load the trailer heavier in front. Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or 3500 lb GVWR / 350 lb tongue weight. Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed posted speed limits. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply brakes and do not speed up.
No. Do not cut, weld, or modify this receiver. Doing so may compromise safety and void the warranty.
The 36660 hitch is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty from Horizon Global. The warranty covers material defects in materials and workmanship, excluding ordinary wear and tear. The warranty is valid only if products are installed, maintained, and used according to instructions, and are not damaged by misuse, neglect, improper installation, unsuitable storage, improper repair, alteration, or accident. Product replacement is the sole remedy. To make a claim, contact Horizon Global at 47912 Halyard Drive, Suite 100, Plymouth, MI 48170, 1-800-632-3290, with your model number and purchase receipt.
Yes, the 36660 is designed for 2018-Current Ford EcoSport. Check www.cequentgroup.com for the most current trim-level compatibility.
Maximum 3500 lb gross trailer weight and 350 lb tongue weight. Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's rating.
No. The hitch uses existing frame weld nuts and access holes. If an underbody panel is present, it must be trimmed with a utility knife, not drilled.
Yes. Lower the exhaust by removing rubber isolators from the hangers using exhaust removal pliers and lubrication. Raise it back after installation.
1/2"-13 GR5 bolts: 50 Lb-Ft (68 N·m). 10mm-1.5 CL10.9 bolts: 38 Lb-Ft (52 N·m).
Ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, sockets (5.5mm, 10mm, 15mm, 17mm, 3/4"), 6" socket extension, exhaust removal pliers, utility knife, tape measure, marker, and lubrication.
350 lb (159 kg). Do not exceed this or your vehicle manufacturer's rating, whichever is lower.
If you cannot fit the hitch over the exhaust hangers, disconnect the electrical wire from the driver side frame rail by pulling down on the attachment housing. This provides extra clearance. Reconnect the wire after the hitch is installed and the exhaust is raised back into position.
Check all fasteners frequently to ensure they remain tight. If fasteners have loosened, retorque all 1/2"-13 GR5 fasteners to 50 Lb-Ft (68 N·m) and all 10mm-1.5 CL10.9 fasteners to 38 Lb-Ft (52 N·m). Proper torque is essential to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair or weld a damaged hitch, as this compromises safety.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. This prevents corrosion and contamination of the vehicle interior.
