Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Equip your vehicle for towing and hitch-mounted accessories with a dependable CURT 2" trailer hitch. Designed for a vehicle-specific fit, CURT receiver hitches provide a strong and secure connection point for towing trailers, carrying bikes, transporting cargo and using other compatible 2-inch hitch accessories.
Our selection of CURT 2-inch receiver hitches includes options for trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and passenger vehicles. Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

Yes, part numbers 76638, 84638, and CQT76638 are designed for the Subaru Solterra. However, the manual directs you to visit the Horizon Global website for the most up-to-date information regarding specific application years, sub-models, and trim levels, as coverage may vary.
The maximum Gross Trailer Weight is 2000 lb (908 kg) and the maximum Tongue Weight is 300 lb (136 kg). This is a weight-carrying hitch. Weight-distributing capacity is listed as N/A. Remember that the lowest capacity of any component in your towing system (trailer, hitch, vehicle, or tongue weight) determines your actual safe towing limit.
You will need: a ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, sockets (10 mm and 11/16"), socket extension, flat head screwdriver, and a die grinder. The manual lists these as required equipment. A fishwire tool is provided with the hitch to assist with fastener installation.
Fastener kit 76638F includes: (4) carriage bolts 7/16-14 x 1.75 GR5, (4) spacers 1/4" x 7/8" x 3", (4) conical washers 7/16", (4) nuts 7/16-14, and (4) wireform fasteners 7/16". Blue thread locker must be applied during installation but is not included in the kit.
Yes. You must remove and trim the underbody panels. Using a screwdriver, remove the plastic expanding fasteners from the bottom of the panels. Using a 10 mm socket, remove the nuts on the forward edge of the panels. While turning and pulling downward, remove the remaining plastic fasteners. Trim the panels as shown in Figure 3 of the manual (approximately 3.5" x 6" area). After installation, reverse this process to reinstall the trimmed panels.
No drilling is required. However, you must use a die grinder to enlarge the existing access hole in the frame rail. Remove enough material from the edge of the access hole to allow the carriage bolt to fit through. After enlarging, apply spray paint to the enlarged area to protect against corrosion. Do not use a torch to cut the access hole.
The fishwire is used to route the spacer and carriage bolt into the frame. Insert the coiled end of the fishwire through the attachment hole (furthest from the access hole first), then out through the access hole. Attach the spacer and carriage bolt to the fishwire, then pull the bolt up to the attachment hole. Leave the fishwire attached. Repeat for the other side. See Figure 2 in the manual for the procedure example.
The conical washers must be installed with the teeth side against the hitch. This is shown in Figure 1 of the manual. The washers are part of the fastening sequence: carriage bolt, spacer, conical washer (teeth toward hitch), and hex nut.
All 7/16" fasteners must be tightened to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M) using a torque wrench. Proper torque is essential to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing. For additional security, blue thread locker can be applied to all fasteners before final tightening.
Yes. The manual specifies that blue thread locker must be applied to the fasteners. This is done after pulling the 7/16" fasteners through the attachment holes in the hitch and before installing the conical washers and hex nuts. For additional security, thread locker can be used on all fasteners.
After installation, check that the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle and all fasteners are properly tightened. The manual emphasizes regularly checking that all fasteners remain tight and the hitch is securely mounted during vehicle use. If the hitch is removed at any time, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fume entry.
The manual states you should regularly check that all fasteners are tight and the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. In order to ensure hitch towing capacity and longevity of the product, ensure that all fasteners are torqued to the prescribed torque (50 Lb.-Ft. / 68 N·M) as specified in the installation instructions.
No. The manual explicitly states: DO NOT cut, weld, or modify this trailer hitch. Additionally, do not use a torch to cut access or attachment holes. Any cutting must be done with a die grinder on the frame rail access hole only, not on the hitch itself.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. The manual emphasizes these requirements because you will be working under the vehicle and using a die grinder, which can produce debris.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair a damaged hitch. If you remove the hitch for any reason, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
The product carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty to the original consumer purchaser only. The warranty covers material defects in both material and workmanship, ordinary wear and tear excepted.
