Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Equip your vehicle for towing and hitch-mounted accessories with a dependable CURT 2" trailer hitch. Designed for a vehicle-specific fit, CURT receiver hitches provide a strong and secure connection point for towing trailers, carrying bikes, transporting cargo and using other compatible 2-inch hitch accessories.
Our selection of CURT 2-inch receiver hitches includes options for trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and passenger vehicles. Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.
Shop CURT 2-inch trailer hitches at TowUniverse for vehicle-specific fitment, trusted towing performance and access to the accessories needed to complete your towing setup.

The Draw-tite Class 4 Trailer Hitch, 2" Square Receiver, Black for Select Ford F-150, Lincoln Mark LT 41549 (Part #DT41549) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
No. The manual explicitly states this hitch will not fit F-150 pickups that previously had OEM hitches installed. If your vehicle has an existing factory hitch, this product is not compatible.
Yes. Part numbers 37090, 41549, and 82595 are designed for both Ford F-150 and Lincoln Mark LT vehicles, provided the vehicle has not previously had an OEM hitch installed.
The manual states that lowering the spare tire may ease installation, but does not explicitly require removal. You should lower it to improve access during installation. Raise it back into position once the hitch installation is complete.
You will need a ¾" wrench and a 7/16" drill bit. The manual provides fishwire for routing fasteners through the frame. A torque wrench is also required to tighten fasteners to the specified torque values (75 lb.-ft. for ½-13 GR5 fasteners and 38 lb.-ft. for M10 fasteners).
Yes, if your vehicle has a vibration dampener assembly mounted to the driver-side frame rail, you must remove it and retain all fasteners before installing the hitch. The dampener will be reinstalled after the hitch is in place. However, on Flareside models, the vibration dampener cannot be reinstalled with the hitch and must be permanently removed.
1. Raise the hitch into position, aligning holes in the hitch side brackets with holes in the vehicle frame. 2. Install ¼ X 3 blocks and carriage bolts through the end of the frame into the rearmost slot on each side; fasten with lock washers and nuts but finger-tighten only. 3. Use fishwire to install ¼ X 3 blocks and carriage bolts (2 per side) through the forwardmost square hole in the frame rail into holes aligned with the hitch side bracket; fasten with lock washers and nuts. 4. Raise the spare tire back into position. 5. Tighten all fasteners to final torque specification.
Fishwire is a flexible wire tool used to route fasteners (blocks and carriage bolts) through the interior of the vehicle frame rail. The manual provides the fishwire with the kit. It allows you to thread fasteners through the forwardmost square holes in the frame rail without having to access the interior of the frame directly.
All ½-13 GR5 fasteners must be tightened with a torque wrench to 75 lb.-ft.
M10 fasteners on the vibration dampener must be tightened with a torque wrench to 38 lb.-ft.
Yes, but only if your vehicle has a vibration dampener assembly. You must drill a 7/16" hole through the spring shackle bracket and the adjoining face of the dampener bracket (Figure 3). This hole accommodates an existing M10 fastener. If your vehicle does not have a vibration dampener, no drilling is required.
A 7/16" drill bit is required to drill through the spring shackle bracket and the adjoining face of the dampener bracket.
No. The manual explicitly states: 'Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.' Use appropriate cutting tools and methods instead.
The ¼ X 3 blocks used to attach the hitch must be positioned so they do not overlap each other inside the vehicle frame rail. Before final tightening, verify that the blocks on each side are properly spaced and do not interfere with each other inside the frame. This ensures proper load distribution and prevents binding.
The rearmost fasteners (step 2) are finger-tightened only initially. All fasteners are tightened to final torque (75 lb.-ft. for ½-13 GR5 fasteners) after the vibration dampener is reinstalled (if applicable) and all fasteners are in place. The manual notes that the vibration dampener must be installed before tightening fasteners on vehicles equipped with one.
The kit includes: 6 carriage bolts ½-13, 6 lock washers ½", 6 blocks ¼ X 3", and 6 hex nuts ½-13. The fastener kit is available as F41549 or KA-8002-287. The vibration dampener installation reuses existing M10 fasteners from the vehicle.
Yes. If your vehicle has a vibration dampener assembly, you must retain and reuse the existing M10 fasteners that attach the dampener to the vehicle. These fasteners are reused to attach the dampener bracket to the dampener and to secure the dampener to the hitch attachment point.
The hitch has two rating levels depending on the type of ball mount used: Weight Distributing hitch supports a maximum gross trailer weight of 10,000 lb. and maximum tongue weight of 1,000 lb. Weight Carrying Ball Mount supports a maximum gross trailer weight of 6,000 lb. and maximum tongue weight of 600 lb. Do not exceed the lower of the towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these hitch ratings.
Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball that has been damaged should be removed and replaced immediately.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Verify that the ¼ X 3 blocks do not overlap inside the frame. Ensure all ½-13 GR5 fasteners are tightened to 75 lb.-ft. and all M10 fasteners (if applicable) are tightened to 38 lb.-ft.
The manual states to check the hitch frequently, ensuring all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. It does not specify an exact interval, but regular inspection is recommended to maintain safe operation.
The wiring access location is PU3.
No. The manual explicitly states that on Flareside models, the vibration dampener assembly cannot be reinstalled with the hitch and must be permanently removed for hitch installation.
No. This hitch will not fit F-150 pickups that previously had OEM hitches installed.
You need a ¾" wrench, 7/16" drill bit (if vehicle has vibration dampener), torque wrench, and the provided fishwire. A ½-13 GR5 fastener torque specification is 75 lb.-ft.; M10 fasteners are 38 lb.-ft.
Yes, if your vehicle has one. Remove and retain the dampener and fasteners before hitch installation. It will be reinstalled after the hitch is positioned (except on Flareside models, where it must be permanently removed).
Tighten all ½-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 lb.-ft. Tighten all M10 fasteners (vibration dampener only) to 38 lb.-ft. Use a torque wrench for all final tightening.
Weight Distributing: 10,000 lb. gross trailer weight, 1,000 lb. tongue weight. Weight Carrying Ball Mount: 6,000 lb. gross trailer weight, 600 lb. tongue weight. Do not exceed the lower of the vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
Wear eye protection when working beneath the vehicle. Do not use a torch to cut holes. If removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering. Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
Check that all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Verify blocks do not overlap inside the frame. Ensure ½-13 GR5 fasteners are at 75 lb.-ft. and M10 fasteners (if present) are at 38 lb.-ft. Check frequently during use.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
