The manual requires loosening 6 bumper bracket nuts (3 each side) and removing 4 rearmost bolts (2 each side), plus the remaining flange nut. However, the manual does not explicitly state whether the bumper must be fully removed or if partial loosening is sufficient. You should loosen these fasteners to access the frame rails where the hitch attaches.
You remove 4 rearmost bolts and the flange nut from the bumper bracket. These original bolts and flange nuts must be returned to the vehicle owner.
