Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Part number 65064 is designed for GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, Yukon XL and Chevy Silverado 1500, Tahoe, and Suburban. The manual does not specify model year ranges or variations within these model lines, so you should verify fitment with the manufacturer or retailer before purchase if your vehicle has a different generation or body style.
No. The manual states that it is necessary to either remove the lower air dam or trim the plastic air dam to install this hitch. You must consult the vehicle owner before trimming to ensure you are modifying the correct component and understand the implications.
You will need 3/4" and 7/8" wrenches, a torque wrench, tape, marking chalk, and a tool to cut the plastic air dam if trimming is required. The manual specifies that no drill bits are needed. A torque wrench is essential because all 1/2" GR5 fasteners must be tightened to exactly 75 Lb.-Ft (102 N·M).
The fastener kit 65064F includes: (3) 1/2"-13 X 2-1/4" carriage bolts, (3) 1/2" flat washers (as needed for gap), (3) 1/4" X 1" X 3" blocks with square holes, (3) 1/2" hex nuts, (5) 1/2" conical toothed washers, (3) 1/2" bolt leaders, and (6) 9/16" hardened flat washers. Additional 1/2" flat washers may be needed between the hitch and cross member to fill gaps created by the splash shield.
The manual does not specify whether the battery must be disconnected. Contact the manufacturer or a qualified installer for guidance on this step.
You may need to lower or loosen the splash shield to install the carriage bolt and block to the cross member. After the fasteners are installed, you must reinstall the splash shield. Additional 1/2" flat washers should be used as needed between the hitch and bottom of the cross member to fill any gap created by the splash shield.
The bolt leader is a tool used to pull 1/2" carriage bolts and blocks into the frame access hole openings. Use a 1/2" bolt leader to pull the fasteners into place. For frame shoe installation, use the reverse bolt leader method. The manual includes a magnified diagram showing how the bolt leader is used. Eye protection is required when using bolt leaders.
The teeth on the 1/2" conical toothed washers must face upward. These washers are used with 9/16" hardened flat washers to fill the space in the large 1-1/4" diameter holes in the bottom of the frame inside the frame shoes. Use tape to hold the washers in place before lifting the hitch into position.
The manual references the reverse bolt leader method for frame shoe installation but does not provide detailed written instructions. The diagram on page 1 shows the reverse bolt leader method in use. Consult the visual diagram or contact the manufacturer if you need clarification on this technique.
No drilling is required. The manual lists "Drill Bits: None" under Equipment Required. The receiver uses existing frame access holes and the air dam must be either removed or trimmed, not drilled.
No. The manual explicitly states: "Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch." You must use a tool designed for cutting plastic air dams. Consult the vehicle owner before trimming the air dam.
Yes. Trimming the plastic air dam is a permanent modification. The manual requires you to consult the vehicle owner before trimming to ensure they understand and approve this change.
All 1/2" GR5 fasteners must be tightened with a torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft (102 N·M). This specification applies to the carriage bolts and hex nuts. Use a torque wrench to achieve the correct tension; do not estimate by feel.
Do not exceed 500 Lb. or the truck front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR), whichever is lower. The maximum winch line pull is 9,000 Lb.
Wear eye protection at all times, especially when using bolt leaders. Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A damaged hitch or ball must be removed and replaced immediately.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual emphasizes regular inspection as part of ongoing maintenance. If you notice any loose fasteners or damage, tighten or replace them immediately.
The manual states to check the hitch frequently, ensuring all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. It does not specify an exact interval. Establish a regular inspection routine, particularly before towing, and after any heavy use or impact.
If the hitch is removed, you must plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. This prevents corrosion and contamination of the vehicle interior.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair a damaged receiver or ball. Contact the manufacturer or retailer for replacement parts.
