Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Do not exceed 500 LB (227 Kg) cargo capacity or the truck front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR), whichever is lower. The maximum winch line pull is 9,000 lb (4086 Kg). Always respect the lower of the towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
Required tools are: 7mm socket, 18mm socket, 18mm end wrench, torque wrench, ratchet, socket extensions, tape measure, marker, utility knife or grinder, and safety glasses. A ratchet and socket extensions are also listed in the equipment required section.
Yes. The installation requires trimming or removal of the lower air dam. You must obtain the vehicle owner's permission before trimming. Using a 7mm socket, remove several fasteners from the lower air dam and remove it from the vehicle. Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife or grinder, cut out the center 3.5 inches of the air dam up to the reinforcing web. Make two 1.5-inch notches in the reinforcing webs as shown in the installation instructions. Then reinstall the lower air dam using a 7mm socket.
No. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. Use a utility knife or grinder instead.
The fastener kit 65085F includes: (2) M12-1.75 x 120mm CL8.8 bolts, (2) M12-1.75 hex nuts, (4) M12 washers, (2) spacer blocks 1/4" x 1-1/2" x 2", and (2) spacer blocks 3/16" x 1-1/2" x 2". All fasteners are supplied and should not require reuse of factory fasteners except for the factory tow hook bolts, which remain in place.
Installation sequence is: (1) Remove and trim lower air dam; (2) Remove factory nuts and passenger side bolts from tow hooks; (3) Loosely install hitch by sliding it into position outside frame rails and hand-tightening fasteners; (4) Install spacer blocks by removing the M12 bolts, sliding in one each of the two spacer block types, then reinstalling bolts; (5) Tighten all fasteners snug using an 18mm socket and wrench; (6) Tighten all M12 CL8.8 fasteners to final torque specification of 68 Lb.-Ft. (92 N·M).
Tighten all M12 CL8.8 fasteners with a torque wrench to 68 Lb.-Ft. (92 N·M). Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Slide the hitch into position outside the frame rails. The hitch is temporarily secured using the supplied M12 bolts, washers, and the front driver side tow hook flange bolt. Washers should be placed between the bolt head and frame rail, and between the nut and frame rail. Hand-tighten all fasteners initially, then proceed to install spacer blocks before final tightening.
Spacer blocks fill the gap between the hitch and frame rails. Two types are supplied: (2) blocks 1/4" x 1-1/2" x 2" and (2) blocks 3/16" x 1-1/2" x 2". One of each type is installed on each side (driver and passenger). The manual notes that some frame variation may mean only one spacer fits; fill as much gap as possible. The spacer blocks are installed by removing the M12 bolts, sliding the blocks into position, then reinstalling the bolts.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. After installation, if the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball that has been damaged should be removed and replaced.
Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. Periodically verify that all fasteners are tight and the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
Load the trailer heavier in front. Do not exceed the lower of the towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or 500 LB (227 Kg) cargo capacity and 9,000 lb (4086 Kg) maximum winch line pull. Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
No. Do not cut, weld, or modify this receiver. Modifications may compromise the structural integrity and safety of the hitch.
