Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Required tools: 7mm, 13mm, 18mm, and 11/16" sockets; 18mm end wrench; ratchet; torque wrench; safety glasses; tape measure; marker; utility knife or grinder. Socket extensions are also recommended.
Yes. The installation requires trimming or removal of the lower air dam. You must obtain the vehicle owner's permission before trimming. The center 3.5" of the air dam must be cut out up to the reinforcing web, and two 1.5" notches must be made in the reinforcing webs.
No. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. Use a utility knife or grinder instead.
Tighten all M12 fasteners to 68 Lb.-Ft. (92 N·M) and all 7/16-14 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M) using a torque wrench. Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or 9,000 lb. (4086 Kg) maximum winch line pull. Cargo capacity is limited to 500 LB. (227 Kg) or truck front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR), whichever is lower.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Periodically verify that the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fume entry.
Fastener kit 65086F includes: (2) M12×1.75×120 Grade 8.8 bolts; (2) M12×1.75 Class 8 nuts; (2) 7/16-14 heavy hex Grade 2 nuts; (2) 7/16-14×1.50 Grade 5 carriage bolts; (2) 0.188×1.00×2.00 blocks; (4) 7/16 conical washers; (2) 1/2 flat washers; and (2) 7/16-14 pull wires.
The installation procedure involves modifying the factory tow hooks. The passenger side tow hook will rest inside the frame after removal of its bolts. The driver side tow hook will remain bolted in place with the rear bolt. The installation uses both factory tow hook locations as part of the mounting system.
1. Remove and trim the lower air dam (cut center 3.5" and make two 1.5" notches in reinforcing webs). 2. Remove factory nuts and passenger side bolts from tow hooks; remove clip nuts from frame rails. 3. Loosely install the hitch using pull wires to feed carriage bolts and spacers into frame rails; hand-tighten all fasteners. 4. Tighten all M12 fasteners to 68 Lb.-Ft. (92 N·M) and 7/16-14 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M) with a torque wrench.
Use the supplied pull wires to feed the carriage bolts and spacers into the frame rails through the access hole. Kink the pull wire to keep the spacer independent of the bolt. After all fasteners are hand-tightened, remove the pull wires before loosely installing the conical washers, flat washers, and hex nuts to the hitch.
Hand-tighten the supplied M12 bolts and washers (items 1 and 2), the front driver side tow hook flange bolt, the M12 hex nuts (item 2), and the front driver side tow hook flange nut. Also hand-tighten the two passenger side tow hook flange bolts and flange nut. Then loosely install conical washers, flat washers, and hex nuts to the hitch before final torque.
Cut out the center 3.5" of the air dam up to the reinforcing web. Make two 1.5" notches in the reinforcing webs as shown in Figure 1. The air dam is then reinstalled after trimming. Obtain the vehicle owner's permission before trimming.
Use a tape measure, marker, and either a utility knife or grinder to cut the air dam. Do not use a torch. A 7mm socket is needed to remove and reinstall the air dam fasteners.
Using an 18mm socket and 18mm end wrench, remove the two factory M12 flange bolts holding the passenger side tow hook. Using a 13mm socket, remove two bolts from the underbody panel. Remove one clip nut from each frame rail. Remove the flange nut from the driver side tow hook and slide the bolt flush with the frame.
After removing its bolts, the passenger side tow hook will rest inside the frame. Be careful not to let it fall forward. The two passenger side tow hook flange bolts and flange nut are then reinstalled as part of the hitch mounting system, ensuring the flange bolts engage the tow hook.
The driver side tow hook remains bolted in place with the rear bolt. The flange nut is removed and the bolt is slid flush with the frame. The front driver side tow hook flange bolt is then hand-tightened and later torqued as part of the hitch installation.
All M12 fasteners must be tightened to 68 Lb.-Ft. (92 N·M) using a torque wrench. Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
All 7/16-14 fasteners must be tightened to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M) using a torque wrench. Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
Load the trailer heavier in front. This helps maintain proper weight distribution and stability while towing.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
No. Do not cut, weld, or modify this receiver. Doing so may compromise the structural integrity and safety of the hitch.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Periodically verify that the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle. The manual does not specify an exact retorque interval.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not continue to use a damaged hitch, as it may not safely support a trailer.
The installation difficulty level is rated as Novice. However, installation difficulty levels are based on time and effort involved and may vary depending on installer expertise and vehicle condition. Proper tools and equipment are required.
