Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. The Hide-A-Goose 9467 is designed for Ram 2500 pickup trucks. Before purchasing, confirm your truck model matches the manual application. The manual does not specify year range or bed length compatibility, so contact the manufacturer or an authorized dealer to verify fitment for your specific truck.
The manual requires a pre-installation inspection to confirm the hitch does not interfere with brake lines, electrical wiring, cables, fuel lines, or vents. The rear axle vent hose will need to be relocated. Do not drill any holes until this inspection is complete. If you are unsure about these components on your truck, have a qualified technician perform the inspection.
Yes. The rear axle breather hose must be relocated before installing the hitch and drilling for safety chain U-bolts. Relocate the hose by pulling the clip off the cross-member and positioning it in another location.

The manual requires another person after installation to check clearances. You must have someone observe the trailer being slowly backed to a jackknifed position in both directions to verify adequate clearance between the gooseneck trailer and the rear of the truck, and between the forward corners of the trailer and the rear of the truck cab. A second person may also be helpful during the lifting and positioning of the hitch head.
Yes. You must drill a 3-1/4" hole through the truck bed using the factory cross-member hole as a guide, and drill two 5/8" holes through the frame and bed for the safety chain U-bolts. A 3/16" pilot hole is drilled first for the U-bolt holes. All drilled edges must be filed and touched up with paint or sealer to prevent rust.
From underneath the truck, locate the large hole in the truck cross-member above the rear axle. Using this hole as a guide, insert the 3-1/4" hole-saw and drill so that only the 1/4" pilot bit drills through the truck bed. Then from above the truck bed, drill back down with the 3-1/4" hole-saw to enlarge the hole. File the edges and touch up with paint or sealer to prevent rust.
Using the safety chain U-bolt holes in the hitch as a guide, use an 11/16" drill or transfer punch to locate the center of the holes. Drill a 3/16" pilot hole straight up through the frame cross-member and bed. From inside the bed, drill down with a 5/8" drill bit. File all drilled holes and touch up with paint or sealer. Drop the U-bolts down through these holes from above.
No. The manual explicitly states: "Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch." Use a drill with the specified hole-saws instead.
1. Drop three rear exhaust hangers and spare tire. 2. Locate the large hole in the truck cross-member and drill the 3-1/4" hole through the bed. 3. Remove retaining screws from rear wheel-wells and insert nut plate assemblies above the cross-member below the bed (nut plate on driver's side goes over the electrical harness). 4. From underneath, lift the hitch head into position and attach with M16 bolts, washers, and blocks; torque to 230 lb.-ft. 5. Drill 3/16" pilot holes and 5/8" holes for U-bolts using the hitch holes as guides. 6. Install flat washers, springs, and jam nuts; test U-bolt movement before final tightening. 7. Replace wheel-well screws, bend wire handle if needed, and reinstall exhaust hangers.
Remove the retaining screws from the rear wheel-wells to insert the nut plate assembly above the truck cross-member below the truck bed, typical both sides. On the driver's side, the nut plate must be installed over the electrical harness. Two screws may be removed to ease installation, but this is optional.
Before tightening the jam nuts, lift the U-bolts up and down from inside the bed to assure smooth operation. If the U-bolts do not move smoothly, enlarge the holes as necessary before proceeding with final tightening.
Tighten all M16 × 1.5 Class 10.9 fasteners with a torque wrench to 230 lb.-ft. (312 N·m).
Tighten the 5/8" jam nuts so that a minimum of 3 threads are showing beyond the nuts. Do not over-tighten; the goal is to secure the U-bolts while allowing them to move smoothly.

The coupler must be adjusted to provide about 6" of clearance between the bottom of the trailer nose and the top of the pickup bed sides. Check bolt torque monthly. The manual also recommends checking the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners are properly tightened.
Do not leave the hitch ball in the hitch when not towing. Before you tow, check that the hitch ball is locking properly in the hitch sleeve every time. Lubricate the ball sleeve with oil when the ball is installed or removed. Use the cover to keep the hitch free of dirt and debris.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced immediately. Do not attempt to repair or continue using damaged components.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the truck bed or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
The maximum Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) is 20,000 lb. (9,080 kg), but you must not exceed the lower of this rating or your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating. Gross Trailer Weight is the weight of the trailer plus cargo; measure it by putting the fully loaded trailer on a vehicle scale.
The maximum tongue weight (TW) is 5,000 lb. (2,270 kg). Vertical load is the downward force exerted on the ball by the trailer coupler. Measure vertical load with the fully loaded trailer on a level surface and the coupler at normal towing height using a vehicle scale.

Place heavy objects on the floor ahead of the axle and balance the load side-to-side. Secure the load to prevent shifting. Never load the trailer rear-heavy. Load the trailer heavier in the front, but not greater than the tongue weight rating of 5,000 lb.
Stop and make a thorough inspection immediately. Correct any problems before resuming travel. Severe bumps can damage your towing vehicle, hitch, and trailer, so drive slowly on rough roads.
Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. Ensure the truck is properly supported and stable before beginning work.
Connect safety chains properly every time you tow. Attach them securely through the U-bolts provided so they cannot bounce loose. Leave only enough slack to permit full turning. Too much slack may prevent chains from maintaining control if other connections separate.
Make trailer lights, turn signals, electric and breakaway switch connections every time you tow, no matter how short the trip. Check operation, including electric brake manual control, before getting on the road.
The coupler should be smooth, clean, and lightly lubricated. Adjust per coupler manufacturer's instructions. The coupler must be adjusted to provide about 6" of clearance between the bottom of the trailer nose and the top of the pickup bed sides.
If the U-bolts do not move smoothly when lifted up and down from inside the bed, enlarge the 5/8" holes as necessary before tightening the jam nuts. This must be done before final assembly.
