LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards equip your pickup truck for whatever job lies ahead. They offer easier truck bed access, fleet-level safety, a highly rust-free construction and a custom fit for your truck and lifestyle. Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are the ideal solution for better truck bed access. Whether you need to reach a truck tool box, ladder rack or some cargo in the truck bed, the wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long, providing a convenient step up for reaching into the truck bed. Grip Step running boards are also built for hard work, featuring expanded metal treads that offer fleet-approved safety. The open treads ensure maximum traction for your boots -- whether rain or shine -- and they also help keep your truck's interior clean by allowing dirt, snow and debris to pass through the boards. For superior resistance to the elements, Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are made from aluminum alloy. They're strong, lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize this corrosion resistance, the running boards and brackets are both shielded in a durable black powder coat finish. The running boards also feature hardened plastic end caps that eliminate sharp corners and add a professional touch. All LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are designed for vehicle-specific applications. This ensures a custom fit and the easiest possible installation. The running boards mount with vehicle-specific brackets and use pre-existing mounting points to avoid difficult modifications. This particular set of wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The LUVERNE Grip Step 7" x 78" Aluminum W2W Running Boards, Select Silverado, Sierra 1500 415078-401447 (Part #FTNF415078-401447) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The grip step package includes two extrusions (the step boards themselves), eight support braces, four end caps, eight spacer plates, sixteen carriage bolts (5/16-18 x 1"), sixteen flat washers, sixteen serrated flange nuts, and eight self-drilling tek screws (#8 x 1/2"). The 415078 is 77.62" long and the 415088 is 87.75" long. Additional fasteners may be supplied in the bracket package.
Yes, the 401447 Wheel to Wheel Step Brackets are designed for 2014 GM Silverado and Sierra Regular, Double, and Crew Cab Pickups. The brackets attach to the rocker panel and spring hanger mounting points on these vehicles.
The grip steps 415078 and 415088 are universal applications. They are boards only and must be mounted using a specific bracket package appropriate for your vehicle. The 415078 is 77.62" long and the 415088 is 87.75" long.
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. You should have basic hand tools for fastening, but consult the specific bracket package instructions for your vehicle to determine if additional tools such as drills, sockets, or wrenches are needed.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the service parts list are on hand before starting. You will also need to follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package, as the grip steps must be mounted using brackets appropriate for your vehicle.
Before attaching the grip step to brackets, slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of the step (item #1). Then slide the end cap (item #3) over the front and rear of each step and secure it to the bottom of the step using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (item #8).
Set the step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. Attach the flat spacer plate (item #4) to the bottom of the step, between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. Use the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolt, washer, and flange nuts (items #5, #6, #7) to attach the step assembly, spacer plate, and mounting bracket together. Hand tighten first, then set the step in the correct position and tighten all fasteners.
Attach the top of the mounting brackets (item #1) to the vehicle as shown in Figure 1. Insert 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts (item #7) into the upper holes in the rocker panel. Some vehicles have threaded inserts in the rocker panels and will not require U-nuts. Attach the top of the brackets with 5/16-18 x 1.0 screw and flat washer (items #5 and #4), hand tightening only. If your vehicle has threaded inserts, use a black M8 x 30mm screw (item #3) instead. Install the black M8-1.25 screw (item #3) and washer (item #4) at the pinch weld, place the pinch weld support bracket (item #8) above the pinch weld, and install the M8 flange nut (item #6). Tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #14) up behind the flange of the bolt, with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #13) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket. Use the 3/8" zinc-plated bolt (item #11), 3/8" washer (item #12), 1/2" washer (item #9), and 3/8" zinc-plated nylock nut (item #10). Do not tighten these bolts until the bracket is attached to the step assembly. After attaching the step assembly, tighten the spring hanger bolt per the manufacturer's specifications.
Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT. This applies to the carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts that attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets, and to the fasteners that attach the brackets to the vehicle.
Curt Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007–2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
Yes. Some vehicles will have threaded inserts in the rocker panels and will not require the installation of U-nuts (item #7). If your vehicle has threaded inserts, you will use a black M8 x 30mm screw (item #3) in place of the 5/16-18 x 1.0 screw (item #5) at the upper rocker panel attachment point.
