LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality. They have 5" wide treads that extend the full length of the side steps, and they feature a strong, lightweight aluminum core with a stainless steel trim for a bright, clean accent. MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ford Transit-150, Transit-250 and Transit-350 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the kit 571725 is designed for 2015 and newer Ford Transit Van models with Long/Long configuration. The manual does not specify compatibility with other Transit configurations or model years.
The kit includes: 3 Front Mounting Brackets (553204), 4 Middle Mounting Brackets (553206), 2 Rear Mounting Brackets (553208), 1 AC Mounting Bracket (553211), 1 AC Top Mounting Bracket (553212), 3 U-Bolts 3.00" (101795), 4 U-Bolts 3.75" (101796), 8 nylon spacer washers (107182), 16 bolt retainers (101572), 22 5/16" lock washers (100030), 8 5/16" washers (100034), 18 M8 flange nuts (105859), 22 M8 hex bolts (102549), 20 M8 clip nuts (101566), 2 5/16" thread cutting bolts (109177), and 2 T-bolt weldments (553221).
Required tools: ratchet, 1/2" wrench, 1/2" socket, drill, drill bits (3/32", 3/8", 19/64"), putty knife, flat screwdriver, and marker. The manual rates installation as "Easy" difficulty.
No, you do not need to remove the plastic rocker moulding completely. You only need to release the bottom push pins from the underside using a flat-head screwdriver. The manual specifically states: "Do not remove plastic trim all the way only release the bottom push pins."
Yes, drilling is required. You will drill pilot holes using a 3/32" drill bit, followed by larger holes using 3/8" drill bits for the front, middle, and rear brackets. The AC bracket requires drilling with a 19/64" drill bit for the upper holes and a 3/8" drill bit for the bottom holes. A putty knife must be placed between the pinch weld and plastic rocker moulding to avoid damaging the moulding during drilling.
The putty knife is placed between the pinch weld and the plastic rocker moulding to protect the moulding from damage while drilling. The manual states: "Place a Putty knife between the pinch weld and the plastic rocker molding to avoid damaging molding from drilling."
No. The manual explicitly states to leave all brackets loose until the end of installation. Only after the step board is placed on the brackets and levelled should you tighten all brackets. This ensures proper alignment and level installation.
Installation sequence: (1) Start on the passenger side and install the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th brackets using steps 1–6. (2) Move to the driver side and repeat the same steps for those locations using Fig. 2 and Fig. 4. (3) For the 3rd and 4th brackets, use factory studs if available; if not, use pre-drilled holes in the rocker panel with 3.75" U-Bolts. (4) Install the AC bracket last. (5) Leave all brackets loose until the step board is placed and levelled.
Slide the front mounting bracket onto the 3" U-Bolts and secure it with: (2) 5/16" flat washers and (2) 8mm nuts on the studs, plus (2) 5/16" lock washers and (2) 8mm bolts in the clip nuts. Leave the bracket loose until final assembly.
The rear mounting bracket is secured to the T-Bolts using (1) 8mm nut and (2) 8mm bolts. The bracket should be left loose until the step board is placed and levelled.
First, drill 2 upper holes with a 19/64" drill bit and 2 bottom holes with a 3/8" drill bit. Assemble the AC bracket using (2) M8 bolts, (2) 5/16" washers, and (2) M8 nuts. Slide 2 clip nuts onto the pinch weld for the lower holes. Attach the bracket using (2) 8mm bolts and (2) 5/16" lock washers on the bottom clip nuts, and (2) 5/16" thread cutting bolts and (2) 5/16" lock washers on the upper holes. Leave loose until final assembly.
Clip nuts are slid onto the pinch weld to provide mounting points for the brackets at the lower holes. They are used with 8mm bolts to secure the front, middle, and AC mounting brackets to the vehicle's pinch weld.
The 3" U-Bolts (101795, qty 3) are used for the front mounting brackets. The 3.75" U-Bolts (101796, qty 4) are used for the 3rd and 4th mounting brackets on vehicles without factory studs. Vehicles with factory studs use those studs instead of the 3.75" U-Bolts.
The manual states that "models with factory studs will use those as mounting locations. Models without factory studs will have holes pre drilled in the rocker panel and will use the 3.75" U-Bolts with the plastic bolt retainer." Inspect the rocker panel at the 3rd and 4th mounting locations to determine which applies to your vehicle.
The T-bolt weldment (553221, qty 2) is inserted into the rocker panel at the rear mounting locations. It is secured in place with a plastic retainer clip. The rear mounting bracket then slides onto the T-Bolts and is secured with (1) 8mm nut and (2) 8mm bolts.
After all brackets are installed and left loose, place the step board on the brackets and ensure it is level. Only then should you tighten all brackets. The manual states: "Place step board on brackets tighten all brackets so the board is level."
Three drill bit sizes are required: 3/32" (pilot holes), 3/8" (main holes for front/middle/rear brackets and AC bracket bottom), and 19/64" (AC bracket upper holes for self-threading bolts).
Leave all brackets loose during installation. Tighten them only after the step board is placed on the brackets and levelled. This ensures proper alignment.
