MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ford E150, E150 Econoline, E250, E250 Econoline and E350 Super Duty (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.

Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The Model 570125 MEGA STEPS are designed for 2001 and newer Ford vans. If your vehicle is a Ford van manufactured in 2001 or later, this product is compatible with your vehicle.

The kit includes: 17 hex head cap screws 5/16-18" × 1" (BZP), 24 square head screws 5/16-18" × 1", 3 hex washer head screws 5/16" × 1" (stainless steel), 5 short multi-thread U-nuts 5/16-18", 2 long multi-thread U-nuts 5/16-18", 20 stainless steel serrated flange nuts 5/16-18", 10 black plated serrated flange nuts 5/16-18", 30 flat washers 5/16" (stainless steel and BZP), and 10 lock washers 5/16" (stainless steel). The kit also includes four mounting brackets for the right side and three for the left side.
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. You should contact the manufacturer or an authorized installer to confirm the tools needed before beginning installation.
You will need to access the inside quarter panel on the passenger side to remove tape covering the mounting holes. The driver side installation only requires access to the front two bracket mounting locations. The manual does not indicate whether any other vehicle components need to be removed.
Yes, drilling is required for the rear bracket installation. You must drill Ø11/32" holes through the center of the pinch weld for the rear bracket fasteners, and Ø17/64" holes through the inside body panel for the top bracket fasteners. The front brackets use pre-existing holes in the quarter panel.
For the rear brackets, drill Ø11/32" holes through the center of the pinch weld using the holes in the bracket as a guide. For the top bracket fasteners, drill Ø17/64" holes through the inside body panel using the top holes in the bracket as a guide.
1. Remove tape from five mounting holes on the passenger side inside quarter panel. 2. Install U-nuts in the holes (short U-nuts in holes 1, 3, 4, 5; long U-nut in hole 2). 3. Install front and center mounting brackets using hex bolts, flat washers, and lock washers—finger tighten only. 4. Install bolts through the lower pinch weld—finger tighten only. 5. Tighten the pinch weld bolts on the front brackets. 6. Install square head screws in the step plate front track. 7. Position the step on the brackets, center it front to rear, and finger-tighten the serrated flange nuts. 8. Align the step with the body sheet metal and tighten all bolts to 19 foot pounds. 9. On the driver side, mount only the front two brackets the same way. 10. Mount one rear bracket to the end of the step plate. 11. Set the step on the front brackets and clamp the rear bracket to the pinch weld. 12. Install the remaining two rear brackets and clamp them to the pinch weld. 13. Drill the pinch weld holes and install fasteners—finger tighten. 14. Drill the top body panel holes and install the washer head screws. 15. Tighten all bolts to 19 foot pounds.
The passenger side uses five mounting brackets: one front, one center, and three rear. The driver side uses only two front mounting brackets. The rear brackets are only mounted on the passenger side.
The holes through the flange of the three rear brackets should be located 51-1/2", 73-1/4", and 92-1/8" from the front of the step plate. You should check the passenger side of the vehicle for these locations to ensure proper alignment.
Install the short 5/16-18" multi-thread U-nuts (Item #11) in the rectangular and round holes at the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th holes from the front. Install the long 5/16-18" multi-thread U-nut (Item #12) in the rectangular and round hole at the 2nd set of holes from the front.
Five square head screws 5/16-18" × 1" (Item #9) are installed in the front track of the step plate. Only one screw is used in the center bracket in the back channel, for a total of six screws on the step plate.
Most fasteners are finger-tightened during initial assembly (steps 3, 4, 7, 15). Final tightening to 19 foot pounds occurs in two stages: first, tighten the bolts from the step plate to the frame to 19 foot pounds (step 8), then tighten the body mounting bolts to 19 foot pounds (step 9). After drilling the rear bracket holes, finger-tighten those fasteners (step 15), then tighten all remaining bolts to 19 foot pounds (step 17).
All bolts must be tightened to 19 foot pounds of torque. This applies to the bolts from the step plate to the frame, the body mounting bolts, and all remaining bolts after the rear bracket installation.
The step plate should be aligned so that the bottom edge of the mounting bracket flanges is even with the bottom edge of the pinch weld on the vehicle. The step should also be centered front to rear on the vehicle.
The brackets are fastened to the vehicle using 5/16-18" × 1" hex bolts (Item #8), 5/16" flat washers (Item #15), and either 5/16" lock washers (Item #16) for the upper body panel connections or black plated 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #14) for the pinch weld connections.
The step plate is attached to the mounting brackets using square head screws 5/16-18" × 1" (Item #9) and 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #13). The square head screws are positioned in the slots of the mounting brackets.
