MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Ford F250 Super Duty and F350 Super Duty (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).

The W2W MEGA STEPS brackets (model 570829) fit 2008 and newer Ford Super Duty Super Cab Pickups and 2008 and newer Ford Super Duty Crew Cab Pickups. The brackets use existing mounting hole patterns on the pinch weld and interior wall of the rocker panel, so fitment is dependent on these factory holes being present and unmodified.

The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. You will need tools to work with 5/16" and 7/16" fasteners (hex head cap screws, serrated flange nuts, and square head screws), but the manual does not list specific socket sizes, wrenches, or other equipment needed.
The manual does not provide instructions on removing factory components. It states that existing mounting hole patterns on the pinch weld and interior wall of the rocker panel must be used, but does not specify whether any trim, panels, or other parts must be removed to access these holes or to install the brackets.
Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts (item #6) in the top rear hole of the first, second, and third mounting patterns, and in the front top hole of the fifth (rear) pattern. The U-nuts must be installed so that the threads face the inside of the rocker panel. Insert the threaded half of the U-nut through the large access holes and slide it toward the round hole until it seats.
The front mounting bracket (item #2) has a 3/16" offset at the top of the bracket. The manual notes this feature but does not explain its purpose. It is mentioned to help you identify the correct bracket orientation during installation.
Position the brackets so that the top hole lines up with the multi-thread U-nut installed in the rocker panel, and the bottom hole lines up with the hole in the pinch weld. The brackets must be leveled before final tightening of the fasteners.
The top of each bracket is attached with a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc plated hex head cap screw (item #7) and a 5/16" zinc plated flat washer (item #8). The bottom of each bracket is attached to the pinch weld with a 5/16" x 1.00" black plated hex head cap screw (item #9), a 5/16" black plated flat washer (item #10), and a 5/16" serrated flange nut (item #5).
Five 5/16" square head screws (item #4) are inserted in the center slot on the underside of the step. The front four sets of fasteners attach the step to the cab mounting brackets, and the extra (fifth) screw is used to attach to the rear mounting bracket.
Position the step so that the rear of the step is about even with the front metallic flange of the rear wheel well. You can adjust the step in and out as desired before final tightening.
Attach the upper rear mounting bracket (item #11) against the top of the vehicle spring hanger so that the flat surfaces meet. Install a 7/16-14 x 1-1/2" hex head cap screw (item #13) down through the top of the upper bracket and the bracket itself. Attach a 7/16-14 serrated flange nut (item #14) and washer (item #15) to secure it.
Install the lower rear mounting bracket (item #12) so that the vertical surfaces meet the upper bracket. Attach it using 5/16-18 hex head cap screws (item #7), washers (item #8), and serrated flange nuts (item #5). The Mega Step is then installed on top of the lower bracket, aligned with the front step, and tightened with 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts.
All 5/16" fasteners must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. This applies to the cab mounting bracket fasteners, the step attachment fasteners, and the lower rear mounting bracket fasteners.
The 7/16" fasteners must be tightened to 40 lb-ft. This applies to the fasteners used to attach the upper rear mounting bracket to the vehicle spring hanger.
