LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality. They have 5" wide treads that extend the full length of the side steps, and they feature a strong, lightweight aluminum core with a stainless steel trim for a bright, clean accent. MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram ProMaster 1500, 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

These steps are designed for 2014-newer RAM ProMaster vans. The manual does not specify compatibility with different roof heights, body lengths, or cargo configurations, so contact the manufacturer or your installer to confirm fitment for your specific ProMaster model.
The kit includes two front mounting brackets (one per side), two middle brackets (one per side), six rear brackets, spacer brackets, retainer plates, washers, U-nuts, self-tapping screws, hex cap screws, and hex flange nuts. The complete parts list with part numbers and quantities is provided in the service parts list.
You will need an 11/32" drill bit and a 3/16" drill bit. The 11/32" bit is used for most mounting holes on the pinch weld and angled surfaces. The 3/16" bit is used for specific holes on the angled surface and top holes of the rear brackets.
Yes. Undercoating must be scraped off at multiple locations so brackets sit flat against the pinch weld and angled surfaces. Undercoating must also be removed to allow U-nuts to slide into place properly. The manual specifies this is required at the second bracket location and when installing U-nuts.
You will need a drill with 11/32" and 3/16" drill bits, a straight edge (for aligning the front bracket), a clamp (to hold the second bracket in position), and a scraper or similar tool to remove undercoating. A marker is needed to mark hole locations.
Yes. Drilling is required at multiple locations. You must drill holes in the pinch weld, angled body surfaces, and inner rocker panel. Drill bit sizes are 11/32" and 3/16" depending on the location and fastener type. Holes are drilled after brackets are positioned and marked.
Yes. Body plugs must be removed at two locations: one on the angled surface toward the rear of the vehicle (near the second bracket), and one just next to the top hole of the front bracket. These plugs are removed to allow U-nuts to be installed from inside the vehicle body.
1. Preassemble front brackets with spacer brackets using 5/16-18 bolts, washers, and flange nuts (finger-tight only). 2. Mark and drill the front bracket holes on the pinch weld. 3. Fasten the front bracket to the pinch weld. 4. Locate, mark, and drill holes for the second bracket (middle bracket) on the pinch weld and angled surfaces. 5. Install the second bracket with U-nuts and self-tapping screws, then fully tighten all fasteners. 6. Align and drill the top hole of the front bracket using a straight edge, install the U-nut, and fully tighten all front bracket fasteners.
1. Preassemble rear brackets with spacer brackets using 5/16-18 bolts, washers, and flange nuts (finger-tight only). 2. Measure the distance between the pinch weld and the horizontal surface of the second (middle) bracket. 3. Using measurements from Figure 3, position the three rear bracket assemblies and mark their locations on the pinch weld. 4. Drill the marked holes with an 11/32" drill bit. 5. Fasten the brackets to the pinch weld with 5/16-18 bolts, washers, and nuts. 6. Verify the vertical bracket is 90 degrees to the body and the measurement between pinch weld and horizontal surface matches your earlier measurement. 7. Tighten the 5/16-18 bolts and flange nuts. 8. Mark, drill (3/16" bit), and fasten the top holes using self-tapping screws. 9. Repeat for the remaining two rear brackets.
The passenger side installation follows the same procedure as the driver's side (steps 2 through 4), except the second bracket is Item #3 (middle right bracket) instead of Item #2 (middle left bracket). The rear brackets attach the same way as the driver's side.
Fasteners are finger-tightened initially to allow for bracket positioning and alignment adjustments before final tightening. The front bracket must be aligned using a straight edge before its top hole is drilled and fully tightened. The rear brackets must be verified as 90 degrees to the body and measured for correct spacing before final tightening.
A U-nut (Item #10) is a threaded fastener that slides into place from inside the vehicle body to secure brackets from the rear. After drilling an 11/32" hole, the body plug is removed and the U-nut is slid into position over the hole from inside. Undercoating may need to be removed to allow the U-nut to slide properly. The U-nut is then fastened using a 1/4-20 bolt and washer.
The straight edge is used to align the front bracket horizontally with the second (middle) bracket before drilling the top hole of the front bracket. The straight edge is placed on the flat surface of the second bracket and positioned level with the vehicle. The front bracket is then moved up or down until its flat surface is level with the straight edge, ensuring proper alignment before the top hole is marked and drilled.
Fasteners include: 5/16-18 hex cap screws (1.00" long, stainless steel, bronze plated) for pinch weld mounting; 5/16-18 hex flange nuts for securing bolts; 5/16" washers (zinc plated and bronze plated); 1/4-20 hex head screws (0.75" long, zinc plated) for U-nut fastening; 1/4" washers (zinc plated) for U-nut bolts; and 5/16" x 0.75" self-tapping screws (stainless steel) for inner rocker panel fastening. Specific quantities and part numbers are listed in the service parts list.
5/16-18 bolts are used with 5/16" washers and flange nuts to preassemble the front and rear brackets with their spacer brackets. These fasteners are finger-tightened initially and fully tightened after bracket positioning and alignment are verified.
These steps fit 2014-newer RAM ProMaster vans. Confirm your specific model year and body configuration with the manufacturer or installer, as the manual does not detail compatibility with different roof heights or cargo configurations.
Driver's side: front bracket first, then middle bracket, then align and secure front bracket top hole. Passenger side: same sequence with right-side middle bracket. Rear brackets: install three rear brackets using measurements from the middle bracket. All fasteners are finger-tightened initially, then fully tightened after alignment verification.
Primary fasteners are 5/16-18 bolts, washers, and flange nuts for bracket assembly and pinch weld mounting. 1/4-20 bolts and washers secure U-nuts. 5/16" x 0.75" self-tapping screws fasten the inner rocker panel. See the service parts list for complete specifications and quantities.
