LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality. They have 5" wide treads that extend the full length of the side steps, and they feature a strong, lightweight aluminum core with a stainless steel trim for a bright, clean accent. MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The Curt 571032/401032 SES/GRIP Step Brackets fit 2009–2016 RAM Crew Cab, Quad Cab, and Mega Cab pickups. Confirm your model year and cab style before purchasing. The manual does not list Single Cab or other configurations.
Yes, the step brackets fit heavy duty RAM pickups with diesel engines. However, heavy duty diesel pickups will not use the center load reaction stud (item 15). The front bracket uses a 4" stud (item 16) and the rear brackets use 3" studs (item 15), but the center position is omitted for diesel models.
Yes. The orientation of the rear mounting bracket differs between Quad/Crew Cab pickups and Mega Cab pickups. Refer to Figure 2 for Quad/Crew Cab installation and Figure 3 for Mega Cab installation to ensure correct orientation.
The kit includes: 6 M12–110mm bolts (item 9), 2 M12–160mm bolts (item 10, heavy duty only), 4 2.0" washers (item 11), 6 rubber cushion washers (item 12), 12 3/8" flat washers (item 13), 24 3/8-16 serrated flange nuts (item 14), 4 3" studs (item 15), 2 4" studs (item 16), 6 3/8-16×1.0" screws (item 17), 2 ½" flat washers (item 18), and mounting brackets for front, center, and rear positions. The step plate assembly is sold separately and includes its own instructions.
No. The kit includes replacement M12–110mm bolts (item 9) for standard pickups and M12–160mm bolts (item 10) for heavy duty pickups. The factory body mount bolts will be removed and not reused.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts on the right side of the vehicle. These factory bolts will not be reused. Install the new M12 bolts (items 9 or 10) supplied in the kit in their place.
If you have a 1500 pickup, check the rear body mount for a cast iron dampener. If present, remove it—it will not be reused. Heavy duty pickups may not have this dampener.
1. On the short threaded end of the stud (item 15, 16, or 19), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item 14) backwards to the bottom of the thread. 2. Install a 3/8" flat washer (item 13) and rubber cushion washer (item 12) tight against the serrated flange nut. The stud end must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 3. On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item 14) backwards near the bottom of the threads. Use a 4" stud (item 16) for the front bracket and 3" studs (item 15) for the rear brackets.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that allows the rubber washer to seat firmly against the frame side wall. Install a flange nut (item 14) on the outboard end of the stud, finger tight only. Do not fully tighten until step 6.
No. Leave all body mount bolts finger tight during initial installation. Install the front bracket (items 1 or 2) using M12–110mm bolts (item 9) and 2.0" washers (item 11) finger tight. Install the center bracket (items 3 or 4) using M12–110mm bolts (item 9) and 2.0" washers (item 11) finger tight. Install the rear bracket (items 5 or 6) using M12–110mm bolts (item 9 for standard, item 10 for heavy duty) and washers finger tight. Tighten all fasteners only after the step plate is attached and the load reaction studs are positioned.
Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (item 7 or 8) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (item 5 or 6) using three 3/8-16×1.0" screws (item 17), 3/8" flat washers (item 13), and 3/8" flange nuts (item 14). For light duty pickups, install in the lower hole locations. For heavy duty pickups, install in the upper hole locations. Refer to Figure 1 for hole location details.
Attach the step plate per the instructions included with your step plate assembly. After the step plate is installed, position the load reaction stud assemblies so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame. Then tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb-ft.
Tighten the 3/8" flange nuts (item 14) on either side of the load reaction stud bracket to 19 lb-ft. This is done after the step plate is attached and the rubber cushion is positioned snug against the frame side wall.
Both the front and center body mounts use M12–110mm bolts (item 9) with 2.0" washers (item 11). These are the same size for all pickup types.
Standard (light duty) pickups use M12–110mm bolts (item 9) with ½" flat washers (item 18) at the rear body mount. Heavy duty pickups use M12–160mm bolts (item 10) with ½" flat washers (item 18). The longer bolt accommodates the additional frame thickness on heavy duty models.
The rubber cushion washers (item 12) are 0.354" inner diameter × 1.00" outer diameter × 0.75" thick. The stud end must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16".
The manual lists both SES and GRIP versions (part numbers 571032 and 401032). The brackets are designed for the same vehicle applications and use the same installation procedure, but the part numbers and bracket part numbers differ. Confirm which version you have ordered before installation.
Yes. The step plate assembly has its own separate instructions that must be followed. The bracket installation instructions cover only the mounting brackets and load reaction studs. Attach the step plate per the instructions included with your step plate assembly.
