LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality. They have 5" wide treads that extend the full length of the side steps, and they feature a strong, lightweight aluminum core with a stainless steel trim for a bright, clean accent. MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the Curt 571632 step bracket kit is designed for 2009 and newer Dodge Ram 1500 Quad and Crew Cab pickups. However, 2009–2012 models without obround holes in the pinchweld will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket to achieve proper mounting location.
Yes, the Curt 571632 step bracket kit is compatible with 2010 and newer Dodge Ram HD Crew Cab and Mega Cab pickups, as well as chassis cabs.
No. The 571632 kit works on trucks with or without threaded inserts. Trucks with threaded inserts use a simpler installation method (steps 2.1–2.4). Trucks without threaded inserts require T-bolt weldments (steps 2.5–2.10). Some 2009–2012 models may also require drilling 5/16" holes in the pinchweld.
The kit includes: 2 front/middle left-hand brackets (553006), 2 front/middle right-hand brackets (553007), 1 rear left-hand bracket (553008), 1 rear right-hand bracket (553009), 12 carriage bolts 1/4-20 × 1" (101320), 12 flat washers 1/4" (101370), 12 flange nuts 1/4-20 (102366), 12 hex head screws M8 × 25mm (102549), 12 flat washers 5/16" (100034), 6 hex flange nuts M8 (105859), 6 T-bolt weldments (553012), and 6 plastic bolt retainers (101572). The T-bolts and retainers are only needed for trucks without threaded inserts.
Drilling is required only on 2009–2012 Dodge Ram trucks that do not have obround holes in the pinchweld. These models require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. Newer trucks with factory obround holes or threaded inserts do not require drilling.
Install the brackets in this order: front bracket (Item #1), middle bracket (Item #2), and rear bracket (Item #3). Each bracket is attached to the pinchweld using two carriage bolts on the lower mounting flange and one screw through the upper mounting flange. All fasteners should be left finger-tight during initial assembly.
The passenger side installation is a mirror image of the driver's side. Use Item #2 (front bracket), Item #1 (middle bracket), and Item #4 (rear bracket). Follow the same fastening procedure as the driver's side, leaving all fasteners finger-tight initially.
Use two 1/4-20 × 1" carriage bolts (Item #5) inserted through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld. Secure each bolt with a 1/4" flat washer (Item #6) and a 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #7). Leave finger-tight until all brackets and step plates are installed and adjusted.
Use one M8 × 25mm hex head screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) inserted through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. Leave finger-tight until all brackets and step plates are installed and adjusted.
Insert the T-bolt weldment (Item #11) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel with the nut end first, leaving the threaded stud sticking out. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #12) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. Then place a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) and M8 flange nut (Item #10) on the threaded stud, leaving finger-tight.
Rotate the T-bolt so that the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. Then insert the M8 × 25mm screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) through the slotted hole, leaving finger-tight.
Position the bracket in place against the pinchweld. Mark the pinchweld through the two rectangular holes in the lower mounting flange. Drill two 5/16" holes at the marked locations. The manual does not provide additional drilling details such as drill speed, bit type, or safety precautions beyond the marking procedure.
The manual instructs to install the step plates and adjust the brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners. However, the manual does not specify final torque values or provide detailed adjustment procedures.
Yes, the 571632 fits 2009+ Dodge Ram 1500 Quad/Crew Cabs and 2010+ Ram HD Crew/Mega Cabs and chassis cabs. 2009–2012 models without factory obround holes will require drilling.
The kit includes mounting brackets, carriage bolts, washers, flange nuts, hex head screws, T-bolt weldments (for trucks without threaded inserts), and plastic bolt retainers. See the Service Parts List for complete part numbers and quantities.
