LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel steps are the perfect side steps for offroad trucks and work trucks alike. They feature an aggressive look, highly functional step pads, a non-corrosive construction and a vehicle-specific fit. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are truly modern side steps for modern trucks. With their oval-shaped board profile, rounded end caps and angular step pads, they provide an aggressive look. The step pads also feature a unique cutout pattern and raised circular treads for an unmistakable accent. O-Mega II side steps are not only built for style, but they offer superior safety every time you climb into the cab. The step pads are made from aluminum to outlast the harsh elements and ensure maximum traction and wear resistance for the raised treads. These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. They?re perfect for accessing a truck tool box, headache rack, 5th wheel hitch or cargo in the truck bed. To ensure that LUVERNE O-Mega II oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are able to withstand anything the road or trail throws your way, they are constructed from aluminum alloy. Aluminum supplies dependable strength and rigidity, while maintaining unparalleled corrosion resistance and a lightweight design. These side steps and the step pads are also protected in a durable powder coat finish. The boards are available in your choice of carbide black or chrome powder coat. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

No. The MEGA STEP bracket model 571747 is specifically designed for 2015+ GM 2500/3500HD pickups with gas or diesel engines. It is not compatible with other GM truck models. If you have a 1500 pickup, you must attach the small 90° bracket (item #14) to the front brackets as part of the installation.
The manual does not explicitly state whether the MEGA STEP bracket (571747) is compatible with 1500 pickups. However, it does note that if installing on a 1500 pickup, you must attach the small 90° bracket (item #14) to the front brackets. Contact the manufacturer or your installer to confirm 1500 compatibility before purchasing.
The O-MEGA II step assembly includes: two aluminum extrusions (available in silver or black, in lengths 95.0", 99.0", 105.0", 111.0", or 122.0"), six step pads (item #107957), four plastic end caps (item #107956), 28 square head screws 5/16-18 x 1" (item #106880), 28 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (item #102680), and 30 tek screws #8-18 x 1/2" (item #107958). The specific extrusion length depends on your vehicle model.
The MEGA STEP bracket assembly includes: front mounting brackets (LH and RH), center mounting bracket, rear mounting brackets (inboard and outboard), spring hanger mounting brackets (inboard and outboard), load reaction studs, rubber cushion washers, flat washers, serrated flange nuts, hex head screws, self-locking nuts, and a 90° bracket for 1500 applications. See the Service Parts List on page 4 for complete part numbers and quantities.
No. The MEGA STEP bracket model 571747 is a no-drill application for 2015+ GM 2500/3500HD pickups. The brackets mount to existing factory body mount and spring hanger bolt locations without requiring any drilling.
Yes. When installing the step pads (item #2) on the O-MEGA II step plates, you must drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The pads are then attached with five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (item #6). This drilling is required for each step pad.
The manual does not specify the complete list of tools required. Based on the fasteners used, you will need a drill with a 1/8" bit for step pad attachment, wrenches or sockets for 5/16" and 3/8" fasteners, and a torque wrench. Consult the bracket package instructions for additional tools required for bracket mounting.
The manual does not specify the complete list of tools required. Based on the fasteners used, you will need a torque wrench, wrenches or sockets for 3/8" fasteners, and a drill (if modifications are needed). You will also need to remove and reinstall factory body mount bolts and loosen spring hanger bolts.
Yes. Step 5 requires you to remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts. The mounting brackets are then installed to these same locations. The manual notes that excessive thread locker is present in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra, so use caution when removing these bolts.
Yes. Step 6 requires you to loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so that the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #16) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. The bolt is not removed, only loosened.
1. Read instructions and verify all parts are on hand. 2. Follow the bracket package instructions to mount brackets to your vehicle. 3. Attach step pads (item #2) to the step plates by drilling five 1/8" holes per pad and securing with five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (item #6). Position pads using the location guide on page 2 for your vehicle model. 4. Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 5. Install end caps (item #3) and tighten nuts to 5 lb ft. 6. Position the step on the mounting brackets with square head screws in the bracket slots, centered front to rear. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws (item #4) and tighten to 19 lb ft.
The manual provides a Step Pad Location Guide on page 2 with specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B positions for each vehicle model. For example, Silverado/Sierra double cab uses 14-3/4" for Pad A and 46-3/4" for Pad B. However, the manual notes that these locations are suggestions only and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. For vehicles like Chevrolet Express/GMC Savana van and generic Ford applications, only Pad A is used (no Pad B).
Due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first, approximately 1/2" from the end cap, and then mount the middle step pad accordingly.
1. Read instructions and verify all parts are on hand. 2. On the left side, preassemble the front bracket (items #2, 4) using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washer, and 3/8" flange nuts, torqued to 19 lb ft. For 1500 pickups, attach the small 90° bracket (item #14) to the front brackets. 3. Assemble load reaction studs with hardware as specified. 4. Attach load reaction stud assemblies to mounting brackets. 5. Remove factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts and install mounting brackets (leave fasteners finger tight). 6. Attach spring hanger mounting brackets. 7. Install step boards per their instructions. 8. Position load reaction bolt assembly and tighten flange nuts to 19 lb ft. 9. Repeat steps 1-7 for the right side.
On the left side of the vehicle, assemble the front bracket (items #2, 4) using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washer, and 3/8" flange nuts (items #13, 19, 11). Torque to 19 lb ft. If installing on a 1500 pickup, you must also attach the small 90° bracket (item #14) to the front brackets.
1. On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #12), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a 3/8" flat washer (item #19) and rubber cushion washer (item #10) tight up against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 2. On the long threaded end of the stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard or frame side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) on the outboard end of the stud, finger tight only at this stage.
After removing the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts: 1. Install the front mounting bracket (items #2, 4) to the front body mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. 2. Install the center mounting bracket (item #5) to the center body mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. 3. Install the rear mounting bracket (item #9) and washer (item #15) to the rear body mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. 4. Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (item #7) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #9) using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (items #13, 19, 11), torqued to 19 lb ft. The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard bracket (towards the rear of the vehicle).
1. Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so that the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #16) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. Position the inboard bracket behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. 2. Using a 3/8"-16 bolt, 3/8" washer, 1/2" washer, and 3/8" lock nut (items #19-21), install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #17) so that the inboard vertical portion of the bracket fits inside the channel shape of the inboard spring hanger bracket. Leave these fasteners finger tight at this time.
Most fasteners are left finger tight during initial assembly. Final tightening occurs after the step boards are installed: position the load reaction bolt assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame, then tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb ft. The body mount fasteners must be torqued to manufacturer specifications after the mounting brackets are in place.
The nuts on the end caps (item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws (item #4) must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
The three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washer, and 3/8" flange nuts used to preassemble the front bracket (items #2, 4) must be torqued to 19 lb ft.
The three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts used to attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (item #7) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #9) must be torqued to 19 lb ft.
The 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the load reaction stud assembly must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
The body mount fasteners must be torqued to manufacturer specifications. The manual does not provide specific torque values for these fasteners.
Use caution when removing the body mount bolts on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra trucks. Excessive thread locker is present in the body mount bolt area, which may make removal difficult.
Ensure that the mounting brackets do not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing. After installation, torque the body mount fasteners to manufacturer specifications.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
