This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. The Model 571447 MEGA STEP bracket is designed for 2014+ GM 1500 Pickups (gas) and 2015 GM 2500/3500HD Pickups (gas) only. It mounts to the rocker panel and spring hanger. If your vehicle is not listed, this bracket will not fit. Consult the bracket package instructions or contact CURT for compatibility with other vehicles.
The O-MEGA II 6" oval steps (models 583098, 583102, 583108, 583114, 583125, 584098, 584102, 584114, 584125) are universal application steps. They attach to vehicle-specific bracket packages, which must be purchased separately. The step pad location guide on page 2 provides positioning for Silverado/Sierra (double, extended, crew cab), Chevrolet Express/GMC Savana van, RAM (quad, crew, mega cab), Ford F150 (super cab, super crew cab), and Ford Super Duty (super cab, crew cab). For other vehicles, consult the appropriate bracket package instructions.
Each O-MEGA II step kit includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (length varies by model), 6 step pads (part 107957), 4 plastic end caps (part 107956), 28 square head bolts 5/16-18 x 1" (part 106880), 28 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (part 102680), and 30 TEK screws #8-18 x 1/2" stainless steel (part 107958). Verify all parts are present before installation. The specific extrusion length depends on your model number.
The Model 571447 bracket kit includes: 3 left-side mounting brackets (part 552628), 3 right-side mounting brackets (part 552627), 12 5/16" flat washers (part 106998), 6 5/16"-18 x 1.00" hex bolts (part 100647), 6 M8-1.25 serrated flange nuts (part 105859), 6 5/16"-18 U-nuts (part 105541), 6 pinch weld support brackets (part 551666), 12 M8-1.25 x 30 mm hex bolts (part 100180), 2 inboard spring hanger mounting brackets (part 551806), 2 outboard spring hanger mounting brackets (part 552717), 2 3/8"-16 x 2" hex bolts (part 101326), 4 3/8" flat washers (part 100062), 4 1/2" flat washers (part 100118), and 2 3/8"-16 self-locking nuts (part 102381). Verify all parts before installation.
No. The Model 571447 is a no-drill application. It mounts to existing holes on the rocker panel pinch weld and vertical wall. On the left side, you remove plastic body plugs and insert U-nuts into the rocker panel vertical wall. Fasteners are provided for all hole configurations.
1. Place step pads (part 107957) on top of the step plates. 2. Use the Step Pad Location Guide on page 2 to position pads for your vehicle model. 3. Drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. 4. Attach with five 8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws (part 107958). 5. For short boxes, mount the box step pad first approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly. Repeat for all step pads.
Position the O-MEGA step so that the square head screws (part 106880) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (part 102680) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
1. Remove plastic body plugs on the left rocker panel vertical wall and insert 5/16"-18 U-nuts (part 105541). 2. Position mounting brackets (part 552628 left, 552627 right) and install 5/16"-18 x 1.0" hex bolts with 5/16" flat washers (parts 100647, 106998) finger tight. 3. Install M8-1.25 x 30 mm hex bolts (part 100180) with 5/16" flat washers and pinch weld support brackets (part 551666) finger tight. 4. Attach spring hanger mounting brackets (parts 551806, 551807) by loosening the spring hanger bolt, sliding the inboard bracket behind the flange, and installing the outboard bracket with 3/8"-16 bolts, washers, and lock nuts (parts 101326, 100062, 100118, 102381) finger tight. 5. Install step board per included instructions. 6. Press step down and back, then tighten all mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with bottom bolts followed by top bolts. 7. Repeat for the right side.
Finger tight means to tighten fasteners by hand only, without tools, until snug but not fully torqued. This is done during the initial positioning steps (steps 3-4 and 6.2) to allow for bracket alignment. Final tightening to 19 lb-ft torque is performed in step 8 after the step board is installed and positioned.
Tighten the nuts on the end caps (part 107956) to 5 lb-ft.
Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (part 102680) on the square head screws (part 106880) and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Tighten all mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft. Start with the bottom bolts followed by the top bolts. This is done after the step board is installed and pressed down and back.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle. This applies because the bracket mounts to the spring hanger.
Yes. The O-MEGA II steps attach to vehicle-specific bracket packages. You must follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle first. Only after the brackets are installed should you proceed with attaching the O-MEGA steps to the brackets.
Yes. The manual explicitly requires you to read the instructions completely and check that all required parts listed on the Service Parts List are on hand before starting installation. This applies to both the O-MEGA II steps and the Model 571447 bracket.
Install the end caps (part 107956) as shown in figure 1 on the step assembly. Tighten the nuts to 5 lb-ft. The manual references figure 1 for proper positioning.
Install the required number of square head bolts (part 106880) into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. The exact number depends on your step model. These bolts will later be inserted into the slots of the mounting brackets.
The Step Pad Location Guide on page 2 provides suggested positions for specific vehicle models. However, the manual notes that these locations are only suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. You may adjust pad positions as needed for your application.
For short boxes, mount the box step pad first approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly. This ensures proper spacing on shorter step plates.
1. Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (part 551806) up behind the flange of the bolt. 2. Position the inboard bracket behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. 3. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (part 552717) using a 3/8"-16 bolt, 3/8" washer, 1/2" washer, and 3/8" lock nut (parts 101326, 100062, 100118, 102381) so that the inboard vertical portion of the outboard bracket fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket. 4. Leave these fasteners finger tight until final tightening in step 8.
1. On the left side, remove plastic body plugs on the vertical wall of the rocker panel and insert 5/16"-18 U-nuts (part 105541). 2. Position the mounting brackets (part 552628 for left, 552627 for right) so holes line up with holes on the inside wall of the rocker panel. 3. Install a 5/16"-18 x 1.0" hex bolt and 5/16" flat washer (parts 100647, 106998) finger tight. 4. Install a M8-1.25 x 30 mm hex bolt (part 100180), 5/16" flat washer, and pinch weld support bracket (part 551666) through the hole and install a M8-1.25 nut (part 105859) finger tight on the back. 5. Repeat for remaining brackets. 6. Repeat steps 2-4 for the right side.
The Model 571447 fits 2014+ GM 1500 Pickups (gas) and 2015 GM 2500/3500HD Pickups (gas) only. For other vehicles, you need a different bracket package.
