LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel steps are the perfect side steps for offroad trucks and work trucks alike. They feature an aggressive look, highly functional step pads, a non-corrosive construction and a vehicle-specific fit. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are truly modern side steps for modern trucks. With their oval-shaped board profile, rounded end caps and angular step pads, they provide an aggressive look. The step pads also feature a unique cutout pattern and raised circular treads for an unmistakable accent. O-Mega II side steps are not only built for style, but they offer superior safety every time you climb into the cab. The step pads are made from aluminum to outlast the harsh elements and ensure maximum traction and wear resistance for the raised treads. These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. They?re perfect for accessing a truck tool box, headache rack, 5th wheel hitch or cargo in the truck bed. To ensure that LUVERNE O-Mega II oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are able to withstand anything the road or trail throws your way, they are constructed from aluminum alloy. Aluminum supplies dependable strength and rigidity, while maintaining unparalleled corrosion resistance and a lightweight design. These side steps and the step pads are also protected in a durable powder coat finish. The boards are available in your choice of carbide black or chrome powder coat. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are side-entry step assemblies available in models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, and 584088. Each kit includes two step extrusions (available in silver or black aluminum), step pads, end caps, square head bolts, serrated flange nuts, and TEK screws. The exact extrusion length varies by model (69.0", 75.0", or 85.0"). Installation requires a compatible bracket package, which is sold separately and includes its own installation instructions.
The MEGA STEP Brackets (model 571447) are designed for 2014 and newer GM 1500 Pickups with gas engines, and 2015 GM 2500/3500HD Pickups with gas engines. They mount to the rocker panel using a no-drill application. The brackets are not compatible with diesel engines or other vehicle makes and models.
The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are listed as a universal application. However, they must be paired with a vehicle-specific bracket package. The step pads must be positioned according to a vehicle-specific location guide provided in the manual, which includes measurements for Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, RAM, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F-150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma models. The bracket package instructions must be followed for proper fitment to your specific vehicle.
The O-MEGA II kit includes: (5) 8-18×1/2" TEK screws (stainless steel, zinc-plated) to attach step pads to the step plates; (24) 5/16"-18 square head bolts to install into the step plate slots; and (24) 5/16" serrated flange nuts to secure the steps to the mounting brackets. The kit also includes (4) plastic end caps. All fasteners are provided; no additional hardware is required for step assembly.
The MEGA STEP Brackets kit includes: (6) 5/16"-18 U-nuts; (6) 5/16"-18×1.0" hex bolts; (6) 5/16" flat washers; (6) black M8-1.25×30 mm hex bolts; (6) M8-1.25 serrated flange nuts; (6) pinch weld support brackets; (2) 3/8"-16×2" hex head bolts; (4) 3/8" flat washers; (4) 1/2" flat washers; and (2) 3/8"-16 self-locking nuts. These fasteners are for rocker panel and spring hanger mounting. Additional fasteners may be required for the step board itself, which are included with the step board assembly.
No. The MEGA STEP Brackets are a no-drill application. The brackets mount to existing holes on the rocker panel's vertical wall and pinch weld. However, the hole configuration may vary depending on your vehicle. The manual notes that fasteners are provided for all applications, so the correct fasteners for your specific vehicle configuration are included in the kit.
Before starting installation, verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are present. The bracket package must be installed first according to its own instructions (included with the bracket package). Do not attach the O-MEGA steps to the brackets until the step pads have been positioned and attached to the step plates. Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 to determine the correct pad positions for your specific vehicle model and cab style.
Yes, drilling is required for the O-MEGA II steps. You must drill (5) 1/8" holes through the step plates using the step pads as a guide. These holes are used to attach the step pads to the step plates with 8-18×1/2" TEK screws. The drilling is done after positioning the step pads according to your vehicle's specifications from the Step Pad Location Guide. The bracket installation itself may or may not require drilling, depending on the specific bracket package used.
The end cap nuts must be tightened to 5 lb-ft. The end caps (part 107956) are plastic caps measuring 2.95×6.70 inches and are installed as shown in Figure 1 of the manual.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item 5) that secure the square head screws (item 4) to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. The step should be centered front to rear on the vehicle before final tightening.
The rocker panel mounting bolts (5/16"-18×1.0" hex bolts and M8-1.25×30 mm hex bolts) must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. These fasteners should be installed finger tight initially, then tightened to final specification after the step is pressed down and back. Start with the bottom bolts, then tighten the top bolts.
Follow this sequence: (1) Install the bracket package according to its instructions. (2) Position the step pads on the step plates using the Step Pad Location Guide for your vehicle. (3) Drill (5) 1/8" holes using the step pads as a guide. (4) Attach the step pads with (5) 8-18×1/2" TEK screws. (5) Install the required square head bolts into the step plate slots. (6) Install the end caps and tighten the nuts to 5 lb-ft. (7) Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets with the square head screws in the bracket slots, centered front to rear. (8) Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Follow this sequence: (1) Remove plastic body plugs from the rocker panel vertical wall on the left side and insert 5/16"-18 U-nuts (or use black M8-1.25×30 mm bolts if threaded inserts are present). (2) Position the mounting brackets so holes align with rocker panel holes. Install 5/16"-18×1.0" hex bolts and flat washers finger tight. (3) Install black M8-1.25×30 mm hex bolts, flat washers, and pinch weld support brackets finger tight. (4) Attach spring hanger mounting brackets: loosen the spring hanger bolt, slide the inboard bracket behind the flange, and install the outboard bracket with 3/8"-16 bolts, washers, and lock nuts finger tight. (5) Install the step board per its instructions. (6) Press the step down and back, then tighten all mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft (bottom bolts first, then top bolts). (7) Repeat steps 1-6 for the right side.
Fasteners are installed finger tight initially to allow for positioning and alignment of all components. The rocker panel mounting bolts, spring hanger mounting bolts, and all other fasteners remain finger tight until after the step board is installed and pressed down and back into its final position. Only then are all mounting bolts tightened to their final specification of 19 lb-ft. This ensures proper alignment and fit of the entire assembly.
Step pads must be positioned according to the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 of the manual. The guide provides specific measurements for Pad A (distance from the front) and Pad B (distance from the front) for each vehicle model and cab style. For example, Silverado/Sierra Double Cab requires Pad A at 14-3/4" and Pad B at 46-3/4". The note states these are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion, but the provided measurements are the recommended positions for optimal step placement.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values on the leaf spring bolts may result in damage to the vehicle. This maintenance is critical for the safe operation of the vehicle.
The MEGA STEP Brackets fit 2014+ GM 1500 Pickups (gas) and 2015 GM 2500/3500HD Pickups (gas) only. They are not compatible with diesel engines or other vehicle makes.
No, the MEGA STEP Brackets are a no-drill application. They mount to existing holes on the rocker panel and pinch weld.
Both the O-MEGA II steps and MEGA STEP Brackets mounting bolts must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. The O-MEGA II end cap nuts are tightened to 5 lb-ft.
Verify all parts are present, install the bracket package first per its instructions, and position the step pads using the vehicle-specific Step Pad Location Guide before attaching them to the step plates.
The manual specifies fastener sizes but does not list required tools. You will need a drill with a 1/8" bit for the step pad holes, and wrenches or sockets for the specified fasteners (5/16" and 1/8" sizes). Consult the bracket package instructions for additional tool requirements.
Install all fasteners finger tight initially. Tighten them to 19 lb-ft only after the step board is installed and pressed down and back into final position, starting with bottom bolts then top bolts.
Before tightening the 5/16" serrated flange nuts to 19 lb-ft, reposition the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Once properly centered, then install and tighten the serrated flange nuts to 19 lb-ft.
The manual notes that the hole configuration may change depending on the vehicle. Verify that you are using the correct bracket package for your specific vehicle model and year. If the holes do not align, check that the mounting brackets (items 2 and 3) are positioned so that the holes on the bracket line up with the holes on the inside wall of the rocker panel. If alignment issues persist, consult the bracket package instructions or contact the manufacturer to confirm you have the correct brackets for your vehicle.
