This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. The O-MEGA II 6" OVAL STEPS are side-entry step assemblies available in nine models: 583098, 583102, 583108, 583114, 583125, 584098, 584102, 584114, and 584125. They are designed for universal application and are mounted to vehicle brackets using square head bolts and serrated flange nuts. The steps feature aluminum extrusions in silver or black finish, with step pads and end caps included.
Model 571447 MEGA STEP BRACKETS fit 2014+ GM 1500 pickups (gas) and 2015 GM 2500/3500HD pickups (gas) only. The brackets mount to the rocker panel using a no-drill application. No. Model 571447 is a no-drill application. The brackets mount to existing holes on the rocker panel's vertical wall and pinch weld. On the left side, you remove plastic body plugs and insert U-nuts into the vertical wall of the rocker panel. The holes on the bracket line up with holes on the inside wall of the rocker panel. Fasteners are provided for all applications.
Yes. When installing step pads on the O-MEGA II steps, you must drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. These holes are used to attach the step pads to the step plates with 8-18 X 1/2" tek screws. However, the steps themselves mount to pre-existing bracket slots using square head bolts and serrated flange nuts, which does not require drilling.
Follow this sequence: (1) Read instructions and verify all parts are present. (2) Follow the specific bracket package instructions to mount brackets to your vehicle. (3) Position step pads on step plates using the vehicle-specific pad location guide on page 2, drill five 1/8" holes per pad using the pad as a guide, and attach with 8-18 X 1/2" tek screws. (4) Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. (5) Install end caps and tighten nuts to 5 lb-ft. (6) Position the step on the mounting brackets with square head screws in the bracket slots, center the step front to rear, install 5/16" serrated flange nuts, and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Follow this sequence: (1) Read instructions and verify all parts are present. (2) On the left side, remove plastic body plugs from the rocker panel's vertical wall and insert 5/16"-18 U-nuts; if threaded inserts are present in the upper location, use M8-1.25 X 30mm bolts instead. (3) Position mounting brackets so holes line up with rocker panel inside wall holes; install 5/16"-18 X 1.0" hex bolts and 5/16" flat washers finger tight. (4) Install M8-1.25 X 30mm hex bolts, 5/16" flat washers, and pinch weld support through the hole and install M8-1.25 nuts finger tight on the back. (5) Repeat steps 3-4 for remaining brackets. (6) Attach spring hanger mounting brackets: loosen the spring hanger bolt, slide the inboard bracket behind the flange, and install the outboard bracket with 3/8"-16 bolts, washers, and lock nuts finger tight. (7) Install step board per its instructions. (8) Press step down and back, tighten mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft starting with bottom bolts then top bolts. (9) Repeat steps 2-8 for the right side.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on page 2 to find your vehicle model and cab style. The guide provides measurements for Pad A (distance from the front end cap) and Pad B (distance from the front end cap) for each vehicle. For example, Silverado/Sierra double cab uses 14-3/4" for Pad A and 46-3/4" for Pad B. Some vehicles (Chevrolet Express Van, GMC Savana Van, and Ford) show only Pad A with no Pad B. Note: due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly. The pad locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
The end cap nuts must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
After pressing the step down and back, tighten the mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with the bottom bolts followed by the top bolts.
Step pads are attached using five 8-18 X 1/2" tek screws (part 107958) per pad. Drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide, then attach the screws through the pad into the step plate.
The O-MEGA II steps mount to brackets using 5/16" square head screws (part 106880) that fit into the slots of the mounting brackets, secured with 5/16" serrated flange nuts (part 102680). Twenty-eight of each fastener are provided in the kit.
Two types of fasteners are used depending on the location: (1) For the vertical wall of the rocker panel: 5/16"-18 X 1.0" hex bolts (part 100647) with 5/16" flat washers (part 106998), secured with 5/16"-18 U-nuts (part 105541). (2) For the pinch weld: M8-1.25 X 30mm hex bolts (part 100180) with 5/16" flat washers (part 106998) and pinch weld support brackets (part 551666), secured with M8-1.25 serrated flange nuts (part 105859). If threaded inserts are present in the upper location, use the M8-1.25 X 30mm bolts instead of U-nuts.
Spring hanger mounting brackets are attached using 3/8"-16 X 2" hex bolts (part 101326), 3/8" flat washers (part 100062), 1/2" flat washers (part 100118), and 3/8"-16 self-locking nuts (part 102381). These fasteners are initially left finger tight during installation and are tightened after the step board is installed and pressed down.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
