LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel steps are the perfect side steps for offroad trucks and work trucks alike. They feature an aggressive look, highly functional step pads, a non-corrosive construction and a vehicle-specific fit. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are truly modern side steps for modern trucks. With their oval-shaped board profile, rounded end caps and angular step pads, they provide an aggressive look. The step pads also feature a unique cutout pattern and raised circular treads for an unmistakable accent. O-Mega II side steps are not only built for style, but they offer superior safety every time you climb into the cab. The step pads are made from aluminum to outlast the harsh elements and ensure maximum traction and wear resistance for the raised treads. These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. They?re perfect for accessing a truck tool box, headache rack, 5th wheel hitch or cargo in the truck bed. To ensure that LUVERNE O-Mega II oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are able to withstand anything the road or trail throws your way, they are constructed from aluminum alloy. Aluminum supplies dependable strength and rigidity, while maintaining unparalleled corrosion resistance and a lightweight design. These side steps and the step pads are also protected in a durable powder coat finish. The boards are available in your choice of carbide black or chrome powder coat. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes. If you are mounting the steps on a 1500 model pickup, you must attach bracket 551571 (90 degree, 3 holes) to brackets 551902 and 551905 (center mounting brackets) in order to use the load reaction stud. This bracket is included in the parts list (item #23).
No. Regular cab applications use only the front and center mounting brackets (items #2, #3, #4, #5). The rear cab mounting bracket assembly is not used on regular cab pickups.
The O-MEGA II steps include: 24 square head bolts 5/16-18 x 1" (item #4), 24 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (item #5), and 20 tek screws #8-18 x 1/2" stainless steel (item #6) for attaching step pads. End caps (item #3) are also provided. The step pads (item #2) and extrusions (item #1) are included depending on your model selection.
The 571117 bracket kit includes: 16 square head screws 5/16-18 UNC (item #11), 16 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 UNC (item #12), 6 rubber washers (item #13), 12 flat washers 3/8" (item #14), 24 serrated flange nuts 3/8-16 (item #15), 6 double-ended studs 3/8-16 x 4.50" (item #16), 6 bolts 3/8-16 x 1.00" (item #17), 2 hex head bolts 3/8-16 x 2.00" (item #18), 4 flat washers 3/8" (item #19), 4 flat washers 1/2" (item #20), 2 nylock nuts 3/8-16 (item #21), 2 flat washers (item #22), and 2 angle brackets 551571 for 1500 models (item #23).
The manual requires a drill with a 1/8" bit to drill five holes in each step pad. A wrench or socket set is needed to tighten the fasteners to the specified torque values (5 lb ft for end cap nuts, 19 lb ft for step mounting nuts). The manual does not specify other tools or whether a lift or jack is required.
The manual requires wrenches or sockets to remove and reinstall factory body mount bolts, loosen the spring hanger bolt, and tighten all fasteners to specification. A torque wrench is needed to tighten fasteners to 19 lb ft. The manual does not specify whether a lift, jack, or additional tools are required.
Read the complete instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand before starting. You must also follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle.
Read the complete instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand before starting. Be aware that you will need to remove factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) and loosen the spring hanger bolt during installation.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" holes in each step pad using the step pad as a guide. These holes are used to attach the step pads to the step plates with tek screws.
Before attaching the O-MEGA steps to the brackets, place the step pads on top of the step plates. Use the Step Pad Location Guide table on sheet #2 to position the step pad for your particular vehicle. The table provides specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations for each vehicle model. The note states these are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
After positioning the step pad using the location guide, drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. Attach the pad with five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (item #6) provided. Repeat this process for all step pads.
Install the end caps (item #3) as shown in figure 1, tightening the nuts to 5 lb ft.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
1. On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #16), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to the bottom of the thread. 2. Install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #14) and rubber cushion washer (item #13) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 3. On the long threaded end of the stud, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame side) through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the body brackets that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a black flange nut (item #15) on the outboard end of the stud finger tight only. The load reaction stud assemblies attach to the body mounting brackets as shown in the figures.
Remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts one side of the vehicle at a time. Install the front mounting bracket (items #2 and #3) to the front cab mount and leave these fasteners finger tight. Install the center mounting bracket (items #4 and #5) to the center cab mount and leave these fasteners finger tight. Do not fully tighten until all brackets are installed.
For extended cab only: Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #8) and washer (item #22) to the rear cab mount and leave finger tight. Install the rear outboard cab mounting bracket (items #6 and #7) to the rear inboard bracket using 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (item #17), washers (item #14), and serrated flange nuts (item #15). The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard bracket (towards the rear of the vehicle). Use the bottom single hole and bottom double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put bolts through the front side so serrated flange nuts are on the back side for frame clearance. Torque bolts to 19 lb ft.
For crew cab only: Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #8) and washer (item #22) to the rear cab mount and leave finger tight. Use the bottom single hole and top double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put bolts through the front side so serrated flange nuts are on the back side for frame clearance. Torque bolts to 19 lb ft.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #10) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. Position the inboard bracket behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #9) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket using 3/8" zinc plated bolt, washers, 1/2" washers, and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nut (items #18-#21). Leave fasteners finger tight.
Insert four 5/16" square head screws (item #11) in the center slot on the underside of the step (or three if using cab length boards). Position the step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the center two slots of the brackets and the front of the step is about even with the rear metallic flange of the front wheel well. Locate the step in and out as desired and install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #12) on the square head screws. Tighten the nuts to 19 lb ft.
The end cap nuts must be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
The 3/8" black zinc plated bolts connecting the rear outboard and rear inboard mounting brackets must be torqued to 19 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
All remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
After the step is mounted, tighten the body mount bolts per manufacturer specs, tighten the spring hanger bolt per manufacturer specs, and tighten all remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts to 19 lb ft.
