LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel steps are the perfect side steps for offroad trucks and work trucks alike. They feature an aggressive look, highly functional step pads, a non-corrosive construction and a vehicle-specific fit. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are truly modern side steps for modern trucks. With their oval-shaped board profile, rounded end caps and angular step pads, they provide an aggressive look. The step pads also feature a unique cutout pattern and raised circular treads for an unmistakable accent. O-Mega II side steps are not only built for style, but they offer superior safety every time you climb into the cab. The step pads are made from aluminum to outlast the harsh elements and ensure maximum traction and wear resistance for the raised treads. These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. They?re perfect for accessing a truck tool box, headache rack, 5th wheel hitch or cargo in the truck bed. To ensure that LUVERNE O-Mega II oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are able to withstand anything the road or trail throws your way, they are constructed from aluminum alloy. Aluminum supplies dependable strength and rigidity, while maintaining unparalleled corrosion resistance and a lightweight design. These side steps and the step pads are also protected in a durable powder coat finish. The boards are available in your choice of carbide black or chrome powder coat. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Curt Manufacturing offers six O-MEGA II 6" Oval Step models: 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, and 584088. These are universal application steps. The specific model suitable for your vehicle depends on your vehicle type and the bracket package you select. Consult the bracket package instructions for your vehicle to determine which step model is compatible.
The W2W Mega Step Bracket model 571117 is designed for 2011 and newer Chevrolet and GMC 1500, 2500, and 3500 Series pickups in regular, extended, and crew cab configurations. If your truck is a 2011 or newer model in one of these series and cab styles, the bracket is compatible. For other vehicles or model years, you will need a different bracket package.
The step pad location guide covers the following vehicles: Silverado/Sierra (double cab, extended cab, crew cab), Colorado/Canyon (extended cab, crew cab), Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon XL, Tahoe, Yukon, RAM (quad cab, crew cab, mega cab), Dodge Dakota quad cab, Dodge Durango, Ford F-150 (super cab, super crew cab), Ford Super Duty (super cab, crew cab), and Toyota Tundra and Tacoma (various cab styles). The guide provides specific pad positioning measurements for each model.
The O-MEGA II step package includes: two extrusion assemblies (available in silver or black, in three length options: 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0"), four aluminum step pads (part 552970), four plastic end caps (part 107956), 24 square head screws 5/16-18 x 1" (part 106880), 24 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (part 102680), and 20 tek screws #8-18 x 1/2" stainless steel (part 107958). The specific extrusion length depends on your vehicle model.
The W2W Mega Step Bracket 571117 includes mounting brackets for front, center, and rear cab positions; spring hanger mounting brackets; load reaction studs with hardware; square head screws; serrated flange nuts; bolts; washers; and nylock nuts. Specific quantities and part numbers are listed in the service parts list. The mega step board assembly is sold separately. For regular cab applications, only front and center brackets are used; extended and crew cabs use all bracket positions.
Yes. The W2W Mega Step Bracket installation requires removal of the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) to install the mounting brackets. The manual notes that 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra vehicles have excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area, so use caution during removal to avoid damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
Yes. Regular cab applications use only the front and center mounting brackets (items 2, 3, 4, 5) and do not use the rear cab mounting bracket assembly. Extended cab and crew cab applications use front, center, and rear mounting brackets. Additionally, the rear outboard bracket attachment differs between extended cab and crew cab: extended cab uses the bottom single hole and bottom double holes of the rear inboard bracket, while crew cab uses the bottom single hole and top double holes. Both are torqued to 19 lb-ft.
The load reaction stud assembly (items 13–16) is required for 1500 model pickups. For 1500 models, you must also attach bracket 551571 to brackets 551902 to use the load reaction stud. The manual does not explicitly state whether the load reaction stud is required for 2500 and 3500 series trucks, so consult the bracket package instructions for your specific model.
Before attaching the O-MEGA steps to the brackets, place the step pads on top of the step plates. Use the Step Pad Location Guide table on page 2 to find the correct positioning for your vehicle model. The table lists two pad positions (Pad A and Pad B) with specific measurements in inches from a reference point. Pad locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Yes. When installing the step pads on the O-MEGA II steps, you must drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The pads are then attached with five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (part 107958) provided in the kit. This process is repeated for all step pads.
The end caps (item 3) should be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws (item 4) should be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item 12) on the square head screws (item 11) should be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (item 17) connecting the rear outboard cab mounting bracket to the rear inboard cab mounting bracket should be torqued to 19 lb-ft. This applies to both extended cab and crew cab installations.
All remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts on the W2W Mega Step Bracket should be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The load reaction stud assembly uses 3/8" serrated flange nuts (item 15). The nuts on the short threaded end are installed backwards to the bottom of the thread, and the nuts on the long threaded end are installed backwards to near the bottom of the threads. The manual does not specify a torque value for these nuts; they are installed finger tight during assembly and then the outboard flange nut is installed finger tight during bracket attachment (step 3.1).
For cab length boards, install three (3) 5/16" square head screws (item 11) in the center slot on the underside of the step. For longer boards, install four (4) screws.
Position the step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the center two (2) slots of the brackets and the front of the step is about even with the rear metallic flange of the front wheel well. You can then locate the step in and out as desired before final tightening.
After positioning the step and installing the serrated flange nuts on the square head screws, tighten in this order: (1) tighten the square head screw nuts to 19 lb-ft, (2) tighten the body mount bolts per manufacturer specs, (3) tighten the spring hanger bolt per manufacturer specs, and (4) tighten all remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts to 19 lb-ft.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item 16), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item 15) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a black 3/8" flat washer (item 14) and rubber cushion washer (item 13) tight against the serrated flange nut, with the stud end recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item 10) up behind the flange of the bolt. Position it behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item 9) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using 3/8" zinc plated bolts, washers, 1/2" washers, and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nuts (items 18–21). Leave fasteners finger tight until final tightening.
Curt Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007–2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
Yes, if your truck is a 2011 or newer Chevrolet or GMC 1500, 2500, or 3500 Series pickup in regular, extended, or crew cab configuration. Other vehicles require a different bracket package.
You will need a drill with a 1/8" bit for the step pad holes, a torque wrench for tightening fasteners to specification, and standard hand tools. The bracket package instructions will specify any additional tools required for your vehicle.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side at a time). Use caution on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra to avoid damaging threaded inserts due to excessive thread locker.
Yes. Drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide, then attach with five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws provided.
O-MEGA II: end caps 5 lb-ft, square head screw nuts 19 lb-ft. W2W Mega Step Bracket: square head screw nuts 19 lb-ft, rear outboard bracket bolts 19 lb-ft, all remaining 3/8" bolts 19 lb-ft. Factory body mount and spring hanger bolts must be torqued per manufacturer specs.
Yes. Use the Step Pad Location Guide table on page 2 to find the correct Pad A and Pad B positions for your specific vehicle model. Positions vary by cab style and vehicle type.
No. Regular cab uses only front and center brackets. Extended and crew cabs use front, center, and rear brackets, with different rear bracket hole configurations. Consult steps 4.3.1 (extended cab) and 4.3.2 (crew cab) for your cab style.
The 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra has excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area. Use caution when removing these bolts to reduce the risk of causing damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle. If resistance is encountered, apply penetrating oil and allow time for it to soak before attempting removal again. Do not force the bolts, as this may strip the threaded inserts.
