LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel steps are the perfect side steps for offroad trucks and work trucks alike. They feature an aggressive look, highly functional step pads, a non-corrosive construction and a vehicle-specific fit. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are truly modern side steps for modern trucks. With their oval-shaped board profile, rounded end caps and angular step pads, they provide an aggressive look. The step pads also feature a unique cutout pattern and raised circular treads for an unmistakable accent. O-Mega II side steps are not only built for style, but they offer superior safety every time you climb into the cab. The step pads are made from aluminum to outlast the harsh elements and ensure maximum traction and wear resistance for the raised treads. These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. They?re perfect for accessing a truck tool box, headache rack, 5th wheel hitch or cargo in the truck bed. To ensure that LUVERNE O-Mega II oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are able to withstand anything the road or trail throws your way, they are constructed from aluminum alloy. Aluminum supplies dependable strength and rigidity, while maintaining unparalleled corrosion resistance and a lightweight design. These side steps and the step pads are also protected in a durable powder coat finish. The boards are available in your choice of carbide black or chrome powder coat. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Model 571117 is designed for 2011 and newer 1500, 2500, and 3500 Series Chevrolet and GMC Regular, Extended, and Crew Cab Pickups. The O-MEGA II 6" OVAL STEPS (models 583098, 583102, 583108, 583114, 583125, 584098, 584102, 584114, 584125) are universal application. Confirm your truck model year and cab style match the 571117 application before purchasing.
Yes. The manual states you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle to mount the brackets. The W2W MEGA STEP (571117) is designed for 2011+ Chevrolet and GMC 1500/2500/3500 Series trucks. The O-MEGA II steps are universal but require vehicle-specific brackets. Contact the manufacturer or your retailer to confirm you have the correct bracket package for your truck model, year, and cab style.
The O-MEGA II kit includes: 2 extrusions (aluminum, silver or black, in various lengths), 6 step pads, 4 end caps, 28 square head screws (5/16-18 x 1"), 28 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 30 TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). Verify all parts are present before starting installation by checking against the Service Parts List on the manual.
The 571117 bracket kit includes: front, center, and rear mounting brackets (left and right); spring hanger mounting brackets; load reaction studs and hardware (serrated flange nuts, flat washers, rubber cushion washers); square head screws; serrated flange nuts; 3/8" bolts and washers; and nylock nuts. The step board assembly is sold separately. Verify all parts against the Service Parts List before installation.
No. The step board assembly (Item #1) is sold separately. The length varies depending on the application. You must purchase the appropriate step board separately and confirm it is compatible with your truck model.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) to install the mounting brackets. The manual notes that 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra vehicles have excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area—use caution when removing these bolts to avoid damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
Yes. You must loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket up behind the flange of the bolt. The bracket is then positioned behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. After installation, the spring hanger bolt must be retightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
Yes, but with an additional requirement. For 1500 model pickups, you must attach bracket 551571 (90-degree, 3-hole bracket) to brackets 551902 (center left) and 551905 (center right) in order to use the load reaction stud. This is not required for 2500 or 3500 models.
No. Regular Cab applications use only the front and center mounting brackets (Items #2, #3, #4, #5). The rear cab mounting bracket assembly is not used for Regular Cab trucks.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on page 2 of the manual to position the pads for your specific vehicle model. The guide provides measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations. Note that due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first, approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly. Pad locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Place the step pads (Item #2) on top of the step plates. Using the step pad as a guide, drill five (5) 1/8" holes. Attach with five (5) 8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws (Item #6) provided. Repeat for all step pads.
Tighten the end cap nuts to 5 lb ft.
Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (Item #16), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #15) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a black 3/8" flat washer (Item #14) and rubber cushion washer (Item #13) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame side) through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the body bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a black flange nut (Item #15) on the outboard end of the stud (finger tight only). The rubber washer must be recessed approximately 3/16" into the stud.
Install the front mounting bracket (Items #2 and #3) to the front cab mount and the center mounting bracket (Items #4 and #5) to the center cab mount as shown in the figures. Leave all fasteners finger tight during initial installation. These will be tightened to manufacturer specifications after the step is positioned and secured.
Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (Item #8) and washer (Item #22) to the rear cab mount (finger tight). Then install the rear outboard bracket (Items #6 and #7) to the rear inboard bracket using 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (Item #17), washers (Item #14), and serrated flange nuts (Item #15). The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard bracket (towards the rear of the vehicle). Use the bottom single hole and bottom double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put bolts through the front side so serrated flange nuts are on the back side for frame clearance. Torque bolts to 19 lb ft.
Use the bottom single hole and top double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put bolts through the front side so serrated flange nuts are on the back side for frame clearance. Torque bolts to 19 lb ft.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item #10) up behind the flange of the bolt. Position it behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger bracket (Item #9) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using 3/8" zinc plated bolt, washers, 1/2" washers, and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nut (Items #18-#21). Leave fasteners finger tight initially.
Insert four (4) square head screws (Item #11) in the center slot on the underside of the step (three if using cab length boards). Position the step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the center two slots of the brackets and the front of the step is about even with the rear metallic flange of the front wheel well. Locate the step in and out as desired and install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #12) on the square head screws. Tighten the nuts to 19 lb ft.
Rear outboard to rear inboard bracket bolts: 19 lb ft. Step mounting nuts (5/16" serrated flange): 19 lb ft. All remaining 3/8" bolts/nuts: 19 lb ft. Body mount bolts and spring hanger bolt: tighten per manufacturer specifications. O-MEGA II end cap nuts: 5 lb ft. O-MEGA II step mounting nuts: 19 lb ft.
Yes. You must drill five (5) 1/8" holes in the step plate using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with five (5) 8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws provided.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
After positioning the step and installing the step mounting nuts (tightened to 19 lb ft), tighten the body mount bolts per manufacturer specifications, then tighten the spring hanger bolt per manufacturer specifications, and finally tighten all remaining 3/8" bolts/nuts to 19 lb ft.
