Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured bla ck powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Express 2500 or Express 3500 and GMC Savana 2500 or Savana 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

Yes. When installing step pads on the step plates, you must drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The pads are then attached with five #8-18 X 1/2" tek screws provided in the kit. This drilling is required for all step pads.
Step pad positioning varies by vehicle model. Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 as a reference. The guide provides specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B positions for each vehicle type (Silverado/Sierra double/extended/crew cab, Express/Savana van, Ram quad/crew/mega cab, Ford F150 and Super Duty variants). Note that these are suggestions and pads may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. For vehicles with short boxes, mount the box step pad first approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly.
1. Position step pads on step plates using the location guide for your vehicle, drill five 1/8" holes per pad using the pad as a guide, and attach with five #8-18 X 1/2" tek screws. 2. Install the required number of square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 3. Install end caps as shown in figure 1, tightening nuts to 5 lb ft. 4. Position the step on mounting brackets so square head screws are in bracket slots and step is centered front to rear. 5. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
Installation is performed on both left and right sides simultaneously. Left side: (1) Remove front body mounting bolt, reusing bolt, washer, and rubber cushion. (2) Install multi-thread U-nut on front mounting bracket (top hole for 1500 vans; bottom hole for 2500/3500 vans). (3) Install front bracket with washer and cushion, tighten to 65 lb ft. (4) Install load reaction bolt assembly with 3/8"-16 X 5" hex bolt, serrated flange nuts, flat washer, and rubber washer; adjust so rubber cushion is snug against frame. (5-8) Repeat for second mounting bracket using 3/8"-16 X 1-3/4" hex bolt. (9) Repeat for third bracket. (10) Measure from body flange to bottom of brackets to ensure alignment. (11) Install rear bracket on spring shackle bolt using spacer washer, bracket, flat washer, and factory nut; tighten to 65 lb ft. (12) Repeat all steps on right side. (13-16) Install four square head screws in front track, position step centered on brackets, finger tighten nuts, align step plate 2-1/2" from body panel bottom, then tighten to 19 lb ft.
End cap nuts must be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
The factory body mounting bolts for front and center mounting brackets must be tightened to 65 lb ft. This applies to both left and right sides of the vehicle.
The rear mounting bracket, installed on the spring shackle bolt, must be tightened to 65 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws must be tightened to 19 lb ft. Initially, these nuts should be finger tightened only, then the step plate should be aligned 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel before final torque is applied.
When assembling the load reaction bolt with the 3/8"-16 X 5" hex bolt, install the second serrated flange nut so that 3/4" protrudes from the face of the nut. Then install the 3/8" flat washer and rubber washer into the end of the bolt.
The top of the step plate should be approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel. After positioning the step on the mounting brackets with square head screws in the bracket slots and the step centered front to rear, finger tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts. Align the step plate with the bottom of the body sheet metal to achieve the 2-1/2" clearance, then tighten the step plate bolts to 19 lb ft.
After mounting the first, second, and third brackets, measure from the bottom of the body flange down to the bottom of the mounting brackets to ensure they are the same height. When installing the third bracket, adjust it to match this dimension before tightening the bolts.
Yes. The factory body mounting bolts, steel washers, and rubber cushions are removed and reused when installing the front and center mounting brackets. The factory nut from the spring shackle bolt is also removed and reused when installing the rear mounting bracket.
The primary difference is U-nut placement on the mounting brackets. For 1500 vans, install the U-nut in the top hole of the front and second mounting brackets. For 2500 and 3500 vans, install the U-nut in the bottom hole of the front and second mounting brackets. For the third bracket, install the U-nut in the top hole for 2500 and 3500 vans only.
The load reaction bolt assembly transfers the load from the step to the vehicle frame. It consists of a hex bolt, serrated flange nuts, flat washer, and rubber washer. The rubber washer must be snug against the frame to properly cushion and distribute the load. The assembly is installed through the U-nut on each mounting bracket.
The .364 X .625 vinyl cap plug is installed onto the end of the U-nut on the second and third mounting brackets. It serves to cap the U-nut opening after the load reaction bolt assembly is installed.
The rubber cushion, which is part of the factory body mounting assembly, must be snug against the frame when the mounting bracket is tightened. This cushion helps absorb vibration and load, protecting the vehicle body and extending the life of the installation. The load reaction bolt assembly is adjusted to ensure the rubber cushion remains properly seated.

Yes. You must remove the factory body mounting bolts and spring shackle bolts, but these fasteners and their washers and cushions are reused in the installation. The factory nut from the spring shackle bolt is also reused.

The step plate top should be approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel. Mounting brackets must be level with each other. Finger tighten step plate bolts first, align the step, then tighten to 19 lb ft.
Measure from the bottom of the body flange down to the bottom of each mounting bracket. If measurements differ, loosen the bolts on the bracket that is out of alignment and adjust it vertically until it matches the height of the other brackets. Then retighten the bolts to 65 lb ft.
The top of the step plate should be approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel. If the height is incorrect after initial positioning, loosen the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws (which should have been finger tightened only), reposition the step plate to achieve the correct clearance, and then tighten the nuts to 19 lb ft.
The rubber cushion must be snug against the frame for proper load distribution. Loosen the outer serrated flange nut on the load reaction bolt assembly, adjust the bolt assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the frame, and then retighten the outer flange nut. Ensure the rubber washer remains properly seated in the end of the bolt.
