Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Express 2500 or Express 3500 and GMC Savana 2500 or Savana 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

The MEGA Steps model 571346 is designed for 2003 and newer 155" wheelbase Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans only. It is compatible with 1500, 2500, and 3500 models, but the installation procedure differs slightly between them: the U-nut hole selection varies by model (top hole for 1500 vans; bottom hole for 2500 & 3500 vans). Confirm your van's wheelbase and model year before purchasing.
The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps (models 583098, 583102, 583108, 583114, 583125, 584098, 584102, 584114, 584125) are listed as a universal application. However, the installation requires a specific bracket package for your vehicle, and step pad positioning varies by model. Consult the bracket package instructions included with your purchase to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle.
The O-MEGA II kit includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (available in silver or black, in lengths 95.0", 99.0", 105.0", 111.0", or 122.0"), 6 aluminum step pads, 4 plastic end caps, 28 square head screws (5/16"-18 X 1"), 28 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18), and 30 tek screws (#8-18 X 1/2"). Verify all parts are present before starting installation.
The MEGA Steps kit includes: 1 step assembly (114.00"), 3 mounting brackets (front LH, front RH, and 2 center brackets per side), 2 rear mounting brackets, 4 hex washer head screws (3/8"-16 X 1-3/4"), 2 hex head cap screws (3/8"-16 X 5"), 8 serrated flange nuts (3/8"-16), 6 multi-thread U-nuts (3/8"-16), 2 flat washers (5/8"), 4 cap plugs, 2 rubber washers, 2 spacer washers, 16 square head bolts (5/16"-18 X 1"), 16 hex flange nuts (5/16"-18), and 2 flat washers (3/8"). Verify all parts are present before starting installation.

Yes. When attaching the step pads to the step plates, you must drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then secured with five #8-18 X 1/2" tek screws. This drilling is required for all step pads on the installation.
No drilling is required for the MEGA Steps installation. The mounting brackets attach to existing factory body mounting bolts and spring shackle bolts, which are reused. The step assembly itself mounts to the brackets using square head bolts and serrated flange nuts.
The end caps (item #3) should be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws (item #4) should be tightened to 19 lb ft.
Step pad positioning varies by vehicle model. Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 to determine the correct distance from the end of the step for Pad A and Pad B. The guide covers Silverado/Sierra (double, extended, and crew cabs), Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans, RAM (quad, crew, and mega cabs), and Ford F150 and Super Duty models. Note: Due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first, approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly. Pad locations are suggestions only and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
The front mounting bracket (item #2) should be tightened to 65 lb ft. This applies to both the left and right side front brackets.
The step plate bolts (5/16" serrated flange nuts on square head screws) should be tightened to 19 foot pounds of torque.
Position the MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and finger tighten only at this time. Then align the step plate with the bottom of the body sheet metal—the top of the step should be approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel. Finally, tighten the step plate bolts to 19 foot pounds of torque.
The top of the MEGA step should be approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel. This alignment should be checked after positioning the step on the mounting brackets and before final tightening of the step plate bolts.
Yes. The MEGA Steps installation reuses factory components: the front and rear body mounting bolts (with their steel washers and rubber cushions) are removed and reinstalled with the mounting brackets, and the factory nuts from the spring shackle bolts are reused. This reduces the number of new fasteners required.
The main difference is U-nut hole selection: for 1500 vans, install the U-nut in the top hole of the mounting bracket; for 2500 and 3500 vans, install the U-nut in the bottom hole. Additionally, when installing the third (rear) bracket on 2500 and 3500 vans, install the U-nut in the top hole of that bracket. All other installation steps and torque specifications remain the same.
For the front load reaction bolt: Install a 3/8"-16 serrated flange nut on the 3/8"-16 X 5" hex bolt with the flange facing toward the end of the bolt, and turn on just short of the head. Screw the bolt into the U-nut. When it comes through the other side, start another flange nut facing the same direction as the first. Turn the nut on until there is 3/4" protruding from the face of the nut. Install a 3/8" flat washer and the .354 X 1.00 X .748 rubber washer into the end of the bolt. Adjust the load reaction bolt assembly so that the rubber cushion is snug against the frame and tighten down the outside flange nut. For the second and third load reaction bolts, follow the same procedure using the 3/8"-16 X 1-3/4" hex bolt instead, and adjust so the rubber plug is snug against the frame.
Remove the nut and washer from the front spring shackle bolt and save the nut for reuse. Install the black spacer washer (item #15), mounting bracket (item #6), 5/8" flat washer (item #12), and the factory nut onto the spring shackle bolt in that order. Adjust the height and tighten to 65 lb ft. Repeat this process on the right side of the vehicle.
After mounting the first, second, and third brackets, measure from the bottom of the body flange down to the bottom of the mounting brackets to make sure they are the same height. When installing the third bracket, adjust it to match this dimension before tightening the bolts. This ensures proper alignment across all mounting points.
Install the step pads before attaching the O-MEGA steps to the brackets. Place the step pads on top of the step plates, position them according to the vehicle-specific guide, drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide, and attach with five #8-18 X 1/2" tek screws. Repeat for all step pads. Only after this is complete should you position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets.
After installation, verify that the top of the step is approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel. Ensure all mounting brackets are aligned at the same height by measuring from the bottom of the body flange to the bottom of each bracket. Confirm that all bolts and nuts are tightened to their specified torque values: 65 lb ft for mounting bracket bolts, 19 foot pounds for step plate bolts, and that the rubber cushions in the load reaction bolt assemblies are snug against the frame.
