Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Express 1500, 2500 or 3500 and GMC Savana 1500, 2500 or 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

The MEGA Steps Model 570340 are designed for 2003 and newer Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans with 135" or 155" wheelbase cab lengths.
The manual does not specify which vehicles the O-MEGA II models 583036 and 584036 fit. Installation requires a separate bracket package specific to your vehicle; you must follow the instructions included with that bracket package to mount the brackets correctly.
The O-MEGA II includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (33.00" OMEGA, available in silver or black), 2 step pads, 4 end caps, 16 square head screws (5/16"-18 x 1"), 16 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18), and 10 TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). Additional mounting brackets are required and must be ordered separately.
The MEGA Steps include: 1 step assembly (36.00"), 4 mounting brackets (2 front, 2 rear, left and right), 2 hex head screws (3/8"-16 x 1-1/4"), 2 double-end studs (3/8"-16 x 5"), 6 serrated flange nuts (3/8"-16), 4 U-nuts (multi-thread, 3/8"-16), 2 rubber washers (.354 x 1.00 x .748), 8 square head bolts (5/16"-18 x 1"), and 8 hex flange nuts (5/16"-18).
Yes. You must remove the front body mounting bolt on the left side of the vehicle (the bolt, steel washer, and rubber cushion will be reused). You must also remove the second body mounting bolt. Repeat this process on the right side of the vehicle. These factory fasteners and cushions are reused as part of the mounting bracket installation.
Yes. You must drill 5 pilot holes (1/8" diameter) in each step pad using the holes in the step pad as a guide. These pilot holes are then used to attach the step pads to the step plates with TEK screws.
No drilling is required for the MEGA Steps. Installation involves removing factory body mounting bolts, installing mounting brackets with load reaction bolt assemblies, and attaching the step assembly with square head screws and serrated flange nuts.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws (Item #4) that attach the step plates to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The serrated nuts (Item #5) that attach the end caps (Item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The front and second body mounting bolts on the MEGA Steps must be tightened to 65 lb-ft. These bolts secure the mounting brackets to the vehicle body.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #20) on the square head screws (Item #19) that attach the step plates to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
1. Follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle. 2. Place step pads on the step plates and drill 5 pilot holes (1/8") using the step pad holes as a guide. 3. Attach step pads with 5 TEK screws (8-18 x 1/2"). 4. Install square head screws into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 5. Install end caps and tighten serrated nuts to 5 lb-ft. 6. Position the step on the mounting brackets with square head screws in the bracket slots, centered front to rear. 7. Install serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
1. Remove the left front body mounting bolt (reuse the bolt, washer, and rubber cushion). 2. Install a multi-thread U-nut on the front mounting bracket and assemble the 3/8"-16 x 5 stud, serrated flange nut, and rubber washer into the U-nut. 3. Install the front mounting bracket to the front body mount with the washer and rubber cushion between bracket and body. Tighten to 65 lb-ft and adjust the load reaction bolt assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the frame. 4. Remove the second body mounting bolt (reuse fasteners and cushion). 5. Install a multi-thread U-nut on the second mounting bracket (top hole for 1500 vans, bottom hole for 2500 & 3500 vans) and assemble the 3/8"-16 x 1-1/4" screw and serrated flange nut. 6. Install the second mounting bracket, tighten to 65 lb-ft, and adjust the load reaction bolt assembly. 7. Repeat steps 1-6 on the right side. 8. Install four square head screws in the front track of the step plates. 9. Position the step on the mounting brackets with screws in the bracket slots, centered front to rear. Finger tighten the serrated flange nuts only. 10. Align the step plate with the bottom of the body sheet metal; the top of the step should be approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel. 11. Tighten the step plate bolts to 19 lb-ft.
The load reaction bolt assembly (consisting of a U-nut, stud or screw, serrated flange nut, and rubber washer) is installed on the mounting brackets to distribute load and provide proper mounting. The rubber washer must be snug against the frame after the body mounting bolt is tightened to 65 lb-ft.
Use the top hole on 1500 vans and the bottom hole on 2500 & 3500 vans when installing the multi-thread U-nut on the second mounting bracket (Item #5).
The top of the step should be approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel. The step plate should be aligned with the bottom of the body sheet metal. Finger tighten the serrated flange nuts first, then align the step before final tightening to 19 lb-ft.
No. When positioning the MEGA Steps on the mounting brackets, finger tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts only. After aligning the step plate with the bottom of the body sheet metal (with the top of the step approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel), then tighten the step plate bolts to 19 lb-ft.
Position the O-MEGA II step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Then install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
The MEGA Steps Model 570340 fit 2003 and newer Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans with 135" or 155" wheelbase cab lengths. For O-MEGA II models 583036 and 584036, check the bracket package instructions for your specific vehicle.
For O-MEGA II steps, you need a drill with a 1/8" bit for pilot holes. For MEGA Steps, you need a torque wrench (to 65 lb-ft and 19 lb-ft) and standard wrenches or sockets for 3/8"-16 and 5/16"-18 fasteners. A socket set and adjustable wrench are recommended.
Drilling is required only for O-MEGA II steps: you must drill 5 pilot holes (1/8" diameter) in each step pad. MEGA Steps require no drilling.
