Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Express 1500, 2500 or 3500 and GMC Savana 1500, 2500 or 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

No. The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are listed as a universal application. However, you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle to mount the brackets correctly.
The O-MEGA II includes: one 33" or 95" aluminum extrusion (silver or black), four step pads, four end caps, 18 square head screws (5/16"-18 X 1"), 18 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18), and 24 tek screws (#8-18 X 1/2"). The specific extrusion length and colour depend on your order. Verify all parts are present before starting installation.
The MEGA Steps include: one 36" or 98" step assembly, six mounting brackets (left front, right front, two centre, rear), two 3/8"-16 X 5" hex bolts, two 3/8"-16 X 1-3/4" hex bolts, six 3/8"-16 serrated flange nuts, four multi-thread U-nuts, one 5/8" flat washer, two 3/8" flat washers, two cap plugs, two rubber washers, one spacer washer, 16 square head bolts (5/16"-18 X 1"), and 16 hex flange nuts (5/16"-18). Verify all parts are present before starting installation.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" pilot holes through the step pad into the step plate. Use the holes in the step pad as a guide. Repeat this for all four step pads. The pilot holes are then used to attach the step pads with the provided tek screws.
Yes. You must remove the factory body mounting bolts from both the left and right sides of the vehicle. The bolts, steel washers, and rubber cushions are reused in the installation. You must also remove the nut and washer from the front spring shackle bolt on the rear bracket side.
The front and centre mounting brackets must be tightened to 65 lb. ft. The rear spring shackle bolt must also be tightened to 65 lb. ft. The step plate bolts (square head screws) must be tightened to 19 foot pounds of torque after the step is aligned.
The end caps must be tightened to 5 lb. ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws must be tightened to 19 lb. ft.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centred front to rear on the vehicle. The step pads should be placed on top of the step plates before attachment.
After positioning the MEGA steps on the mounting brackets with the square head screws in the bracket slots and the step centred front to rear, align the step plate with the bottom of the body sheet metal. The top of the step should be approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel. Measure from the bottom of the body flange down to the bottom of the mounting brackets to ensure all brackets are at the same height before final tightening.
Install a 3/8"-16 serrated flange nut on the hex bolt with the flange facing toward the end of the bolt and turn on just short of the head. Screw the bolt into the U-nut. When it comes through the other side, start another flange nut facing the same direction as the first nut. Turn the nut on until there is 3/4" protruding from the face of the nut. Install a 3/8" flat washer and the rubber washer into the end of the bolt. Adjust the load reaction bolt assembly so that the rubber cushion is snug against the frame and tighten down the outside flange nut.
The U-nut hole selection depends on your van model. For 1500 vans, install the multi-thread U-nut in the top hole. For 2500 and 3500 vans, install the multi-thread U-nut in the bottom hole.
Five 1/8" pilot holes are drilled through each step pad into the step plate using the holes in the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with five #8-18 X 1/2" tek screws (stainless steel, zinc plated) provided in the kit.
The required number of square head bolts (5/16"-18 X 1") are installed into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. The exact number depends on the step length and bracket configuration for your vehicle.
Four square head bolts (5/16"-18 X 1") are installed in the front track of the step plates. These bolts are then used to position the step on the mounting brackets.
No. After positioning the MEGA steps on the mounting brackets, the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws should be finger tightened only. The step must then be aligned with the bottom of the body sheet metal before the bolts are tightened to 19 foot pounds of torque.
The rubber washer dimensions are .354 X 1.00 X .748 inches.
The spacer washer is 1/8" thick by 1-3/4" in diameter.
