Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Dodge Sprinter 2500 or 3500, Freightliner Sprinter 2500 or 3500 and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 or 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The O-MEGA II 6" oval steps are available as models 583100 and 584100. Both are universal application steps that come with either silver or black aluminum extrusions.
The CURT 570744 MEGA/OMEGA steps are designed for 2007-newer Sprinter vans. Installation instructions are specific to this vehicle platform and include detailed bracket mounting procedures for the rocker panel and pinch weld.
The O-MEGA II steps include: 18 square head screws (5/16-18 x 1", part 106880), 18 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18, part 102680), and 24 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2", part 107958) for attaching step pads. Four end caps (part 107956) are also included.
The 570744 Sprinter bracket package includes: 5/16-18 U-nuts (part 105541), 5/16" self-tapping screws (part 105537), 5/16-18 hex head cap screws (part 106997), 5/16" washers (parts 100034 and 100647), 5/16-18 hex head screws (part 100647), and 5/16-18 hex flange nuts (part 100178). Spacer brackets, retainer plates, and mounting brackets are also supplied.
Yes. The manual states you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle. The O-MEGA II steps are universal application, but the bracket package must be selected for your particular vehicle. For 2007-newer Sprinter vans, use the 570744 bracket package with the detailed Sprinter-specific installation instructions.
Place the step pads (item 3) on top of the step plates. Using the holes in the step pad as a guide, drill five 1/8" pilot holes. Attach the pads with five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (item 7). Repeat this process for all step pads.
Tighten the end cap nuts to 5 lb ft.
Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item 6) on the square head screws (item 5) and tighten to 19 lb ft. These fasteners secure the step to the mounting brackets.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (item 5) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle.
Yes. Drilling is required at multiple locations. For the front bracket, you must drill a 7/16" hole (if no rear A/C) or a 7/32" hole (if rear A/C is present), and two 11/32" holes into the pinch weld. For the rear brackets on the passenger side, you must drill 7/16" holes at body plug locations and 11/32" holes into the pinch weld. Undercoating must be scraped away before drilling.
It depends on whether your Sprinter has rear A/C. If the truck does not have rear A/C, you must remove the body plug at the front bracket location (9-1/2" back from the front of the mud flap) and drill a 7/16" hole 1/2" to the front of the body plug hole. If the truck has rear A/C, you do not remove the plug; instead, you mark and drill a 7/32" hole through the existing plug location. For the passenger side rear brackets, body plugs at 48-1/2", 68-1/2", and 88-1/2" back from the mud flap must be removed and 7/16" holes drilled.
Measure approximately 9-1/2" back from the front of the mud flap on the back side of the rocker panel. This is where the front bracket should be installed.
Measure approximately 27 1/2" back from the front of the mud flap on the back side of the rocker panel. This is where the second (rear) bracket will be installed on the driver side.
You will need: a 7/16" drill bit (for body plug holes on driver side front and passenger side rear), a 7/32" drill bit (for the front bracket on vehicles with rear A/C and for the rear bracket top slot on driver side), and an 11/32" drill bit (for the two lower bracket mount holes into the pinch weld on both sides).
Preassemble the brackets (item 1 for driver side, items 1 and 3 for passenger side) with spacer brackets (item 8), using the 5/16-18 bolts with 5/16" washers and flange nuts (items 2, 10, and 11). Finger tighten only at this time; do not fully tighten until all drilling and positioning is complete.
Measure the height of the first (front) bracket from the top of the bracket to the bottom of the floor board. Use this measurement to help position the rear bracket at the same height, ensuring the brackets are level.
A 5/16" self-tapping screw (item 5) is used to secure the top slot of the bracket. For the driver side front bracket without rear A/C, a 5/16-18 U-nut (item 4) is installed first. For vehicles with rear A/C or for the rear bracket, the self-tapping screw is installed directly after drilling a 7/32" hole.
Two 5/16-18 black bolts with 5/16" washers (items 2 and 10) are installed through the drilled holes in the lower bracket mount. On the back side of the pinch weld, a retainer plate (item 9) is placed over the bolts and secured with flange nuts (item 11).
The body plug locations used for the passenger side rear brackets are at 48-1/2", 68-1/2", and 88-1/2" back from the front of the mud flap. These are the second, fourth, and sixth body plug locations. All three must have the plugs removed and 7/16" holes drilled.
Yes. The installation of the front two brackets on the passenger side follows the same procedure as the driver side (steps 2 through 3 of the driver side installation).
After the brackets are installed and all fasteners are tightened, attach the step assembly. Review the installation instructions included with your specific step assembly for detailed attachment procedures.
Yes, the 570744 MEGA/OMEGA steps are designed specifically for 2007-newer Sprinter vans. Installation requires drilling into the rocker panel and pinch weld, and procedures differ based on whether the van has rear A/C.
Yes. Installation requires drilling multiple holes: 7/16" holes at body plug locations, 7/32" holes for bracket top slots (on vehicles with rear A/C), and 11/32" holes into the pinch weld. Undercoating must be scraped away before drilling.
Tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws to 19 lb ft. End cap nuts should be tightened to 5 lb ft.
Yes. Step pads must be attached to the step plates before the steps are mounted to the brackets. Drill five 1/8" pilot holes using the step pad holes as a guide, then attach with five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws.
Read the instructions completely and verify that all required parts listed in the service parts list are on hand before starting installation. For Sprinter vans, confirm whether your vehicle has rear A/C, as this affects drilling procedures.
You will need 7/16", 7/32", and 11/32" drill bits. The 7/16" bit is used for body plug holes, the 7/32" bit for bracket top slots, and the 11/32" bit for pinch weld mounting holes.
