Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are universal vehicle steps manufactured by Curt in six model variants (583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, 584088). They are mounted to vehicle-specific brackets and provide a step platform for easier entry and exit. The steps feature an oval profile and are available in silver and black finishes.

Yes. The steps must be mounted to brackets using a separate bracket package that is vehicle-specific. You must follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle before attaching the O-MEGA steps.
Each kit includes: 2 step extrusions (aluminium, 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0" depending on model, available in silver or black), 4 step pads (aluminium, black), 4 end caps (plastic, 2.95 × 6.70), 24 square head bolts (5/16-18 × 1"), 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18, stainless steel), and 20 tek screws (#8-18 × 1/2", stainless steel). Verify all parts are on hand before starting installation.
The manual specifies that you will need a drill to create 1/8" holes for the step pad attachment. A torque wrench is required to tighten the end cap nuts to 5 lb-ft and the serrated flange nuts to 19 lb-ft. The manual does not list other specific tools required.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand. Then follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle. Do not attach the O-MEGA steps to the brackets until the brackets are properly installed.
1. Mount the vehicle-specific brackets to your vehicle using the bracket package instructions. 2. Position and attach the step pads to the step plates using 1/8" holes and tek screws. 3. Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 4. Install end caps and tighten nuts to 5 lb-ft. 5. Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets with square head screws in the bracket slots, centred front to rear. 6. Install serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" holes per step pad using the step pad as a guide. These holes are used to attach the step pads to the step plates with tek screws. Drilling is required for each step pad before the steps are mounted to the brackets.
The end cap nuts must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts that secure the O-MEGA step to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
Five 1/8" holes must be drilled per step pad using the step pad as a guide. These holes are used to attach the step pads to the step plates with #8-18 × 1/2" tek screws.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on Sheet 2 to position the step pads for your particular vehicle. The guide provides specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations for each vehicle model listed. Note that these locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. Position the pads before drilling the 1/8" attachment holes.

Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centred front to rear on the vehicle. Then install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Square head bolts (Item #4, 5/16-18 × 1") are installed into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. These bolts are then secured with 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5, stainless steel) that are tightened to 19 lb-ft. The square head screws must be located in the slots of the mounting brackets.
Five #8-18 × 1/2" tek screws (Item #6, stainless steel) per step pad are used to attach the step pads to the step plates. The holes for these screws are drilled using the step pad as a guide.
Four step pads (aluminium, black) are included. Before attaching the O-MEGA steps to the brackets, place the step pads on top of the step plates. Use the Step Pad Location Guide to position each pad for your vehicle. Drill five 1/8" holes per pad using the pad as a guide, then attach with five #8-18 × 1/2" tek screws. Repeat for all step pads.
Four end caps (plastic, 2.95 × 6.70) are included. They are installed as shown in Figure 1 and the nuts are tightened to 5 lb-ft.
