Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are universal mounting steps available in models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, and 584088. Each step assembly includes extrusion-aluminum step plates in silver or black, step pads, end caps, square head bolts, serrated flange nuts, and TEK screws for pad attachment. The specific extrusion length (69.0", 75.0", or 85.0") varies by model.
The 571632 SES Mega/Omega Step Bracket Kit fits 2009 and later Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab and Crew Cab Pickups, and 2010 and later Dodge Ram HD Crew Cab Pickups, Mega Cab Pickups, and Chassis Cabs. If your truck is not in this list, you will need a different bracket package.
The step pad location guide provides suggested positioning measurements (Pad A and Pad B distances) for mounting the step pads on the step plates for specific vehicle models including Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, Ram, Dodge Dakota, Durango, Ford F150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma. However, the manual notes that these are only suggestions and pads may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
The O-MEGA II step assembly includes: 24 square head bolts 5/16-18 X 1" (Item #4), 24 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (Item #5), and 20 TEK screws #8-18 X 1/2" stainless steel (Item #6) for attaching the step pads. Additionally, 4 plastic end caps (Item #3) are included.
The 571632 bracket kit includes: 12 carriage bolts 1/4-20 X 1" stainless steel (Item #5), 12 flat washers 1/4" (Item #6), 12 flange nuts 1/4-20 stainless steel (Item #7), 12 hex head screws M8 X 25mm (Item #8), 12 flat washers 5/16" (Item #9), 6 hex flange nuts M8 X 1.25 (Item #10), 6 T-bolt weldments (Item #11), and 6 plastic bolt retainers 8mm (Item #12).
Before starting installation, read the instructions completely and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand. You will also need to follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle, as the O-MEGA II steps are universal but require vehicle-specific brackets for mounting.
Yes. The O-MEGA II steps are universal, but you must use the specific bracket package designed for your vehicle. The manual requires you to follow the instructions included with your bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle before attaching the steps.
Yes. When installing the step pads on the steps, you must drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with 5 TEK screws #8-18 X 1/2" (Item #6) provided in the kit. This process is repeated for all step pads.
Yes. 2009 to 2012 Ram trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld and will require drilling 2 holes of 5/16" diameter for each bracket. To locate the drilling position, follow step 2.5 (install the T-bolt weldment), then mark the pinch weld for drilling with the bracket in place, then proceed with steps 2.7 and 2.8.
No. Ram trucks with threaded inserts in the rocker panel do not require drilling. The brackets attach using carriage bolts through the pinch weld obround holes and M8 screws through the upper mounting flange slots. Trucks without threaded inserts use T-bolt weldments instead, and 2009-2012 trucks without obround holes in the pinch weld require drilling 2 holes of 5/16" diameter for each bracket.
The nuts on the end caps (Item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws (Item #4) must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
1. Position step pads on the step plates using the location guide for your vehicle. 2. Drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter using the step pad as a guide and attach with 5 TEK screws #8-18 X 1/2". 3. Install the required number of square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 4. Install the end caps and tighten the nuts to 5 lb ft. 5. Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are in the bracket slots and the step is centered front to rear. 6. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
1. Place the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) against the pinch weld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 2. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinch weld. 3. Insert two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (Item #5) through the lower mounting flange and pinch weld. 4. Place a 1/4" flat washer (Item #6) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #7) on each carriage bolt and leave finger-tight. 5. Insert an M8 X 25mm screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) through the slots on the upper mounting flange and leave finger-tight. 6. Repeat for the middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets. 7. For the passenger side, use Item #2 for the front bracket, Item #1 for the middle bracket, and Item #4 for the rear bracket.
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (Item #11) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel vertical wall, inserting the nut end first and leaving the threaded stud sticking out. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #12) to the threaded stud to prevent it from falling into the rocker panel. 2. Place the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) against the pinch weld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 3. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinch weld. 4. Insert two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (Item #5) through the lower mounting flange and pinch weld. 5. Place a 1/4" flat washer (Item #6) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #7) on each carriage bolt and leave finger-tight. 6. Place a flat washer (Item #9) and M8 flange nut (Item #10) on the T-bolt threaded stud and leave finger-tight. 7. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 8. Insert an M8 X 25mm screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) and leave finger-tight. 9. Repeat for the middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets. 10. For the passenger side, use Item #2 for the front bracket, Item #1 for the middle bracket, and Item #4 for the rear bracket.
You should leave all fasteners finger-tight during bracket installation. The manual states to install the step plates and adjust brackets and boards before tightening all the fasteners. This allows for proper alignment and positioning of the steps on the brackets before final tightening.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. This ensures proper alignment before the 5/16" serrated flange nuts are installed and tightened to 19 lb ft.
When installing the T-bolt weldment (Item #11) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel, be careful not to drop it inside the rocker panel. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #12) to the threaded stud of the T-bolt to keep it from falling into the rocker panel.
The 571632 kit fits 2009+ Dodge Ram 1500 Quad/Crew Cab Pickups and 2010+ Dodge Ram HD Crew/Mega Cab Pickups and Chassis Cabs only. Check your truck model and year against the application list.
Yes, you must drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter in each step pad location using the step pad as a guide. Additionally, 2009-2012 Dodge Ram trucks without obround holes in the pinch weld require drilling 2 holes of 5/16" diameter for each bracket.
Tighten end cap nuts to 5 lb ft and square head screw flange nuts to 19 lb ft on the O-MEGA II steps. Final torque specifications for the 571632 bracket kit fasteners are not provided in the manual.
Read the instructions completely, verify all required parts are on hand using the service parts list, and obtain the specific bracket package instructions for your vehicle. Leave all fasteners finger-tight during assembly until after the steps are positioned and aligned.
Use the step pad location guide on sheet 2 to position Pad A and Pad B for your specific vehicle model. The guide provides suggested distances, but pads may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. Drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter using the step pad as a guide and attach with 5 TEK screws #8-18 X 1/2".
Be careful not to drop the T-bolt weldment inside the rocker panel. Attach the plastic bolt retainer to the threaded stud immediately to prevent it from falling into the rocker panel.
