Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are universal-application side steps available in models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, and 584088. Each step assembly includes two extrusion-aluminum step plates (available in silver or black, in three length options: 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0"), step pads, end caps, mounting hardware (square head bolts, serrated flange nuts, and TEK screws), and fasteners. The steps attach to vehicle-specific mounting brackets via square head screws that slot into the bracket mounting points.
The 571632 SES Mega/Omega Step Bracket Kit fits 2009 and newer Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab and Crew Cab Pickups, and 2010 and newer Dodge Ram HD Crew Cab Pickups, Mega Cab Pickups, and Chassis Cabs. If your truck is an earlier model year or a different cab style, this bracket kit will not fit.
Step pad positioning varies by vehicle model and cab style. The manual provides specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations for Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, Ram, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma models. Consult the Step Pad Location Guide on page 2 for your specific vehicle. Note: these are suggestions only and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.

The specific bracket kit (such as 571632) includes additional fasteners: carriage bolts, flat washers, flange nuts, hex head screws, T-bolt weldments, and plastic bolt retainers as detailed in the service parts list.
Yes. The manual states to follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle. The O-MEGA II steps themselves are universal, but the mounting brackets are vehicle-specific. For Dodge Ram trucks, the 571632 bracket kit is required. Other vehicles require their corresponding bracket package.
1. Install step pads (Item #2) on top of step plates using the vehicle-specific pad location guide, drilling five 1/8" holes and securing with five #8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws. 2. Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 3. Install end caps (Item #3) and tighten nuts to 5 lb-ft. 4. Position the O-MEGA step on mounting brackets so square head screws are located in the bracket slots and the step is centered front to rear. 5. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Yes. When installing step pads on the step plates, you must drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The step pad is then attached with five #8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws (Item #6) provided. This drilling is required for each step pad.
Yes. 2009 to 2012 Dodge Ram trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld. They require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the drilling points, follow step 2.5 (install the T-bolt weldment), then skip to steps 2.7 and 2.8. With the bracket in place, mark the pinch weld for drilling the two 5/16" holes.
End cap nuts (Item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws (Item #4) must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
1. Place the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) against the pinch weld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. Align the two rectangular holes with the obround holes in the pinch weld. 2. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (Item #5) through the lower mounting flange and pinch weld. Add a 1/4" flat washer (Item #6) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #7); leave finger-tight. 3. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) through the upper mounting flange slots; leave finger-tight. 4. Repeat for middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets. 5. For the passenger side, use Item #2 as the front bracket, Item #1 as the middle bracket, and Item #4 as the rear bracket.
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (Item #11) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel vertical wall, nut end first, leaving the threaded stud protruding. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #12) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. 2. Place the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) against the pinch weld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (Item #5) through the lower mounting flange and pinch weld. Add a 1/4" flat washer (Item #6) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #7); leave finger-tight. 3. Place a flat washer (Item #9) and M8 flange nut (Item #10) on the T-bolt threaded stud; leave finger-tight. 4. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9); leave finger-tight. 5. Repeat for middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets. 6. For the passenger side, use Item #2 as the front bracket, Item #1 as the middle bracket, and Item #4 as the rear bracket.
No. During bracket installation, all fasteners must be left finger-tight. The manual states: "INSTALL THE STEP PLATES, AND ADJUST BRACKETS, AND BOARDS BEFORE TIGHTENING ALL THE FASTENERS." This allows you to position and align the brackets and step plates correctly before final tightening.
