Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and t hey are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

No. Heavy duty pickups with the diesel engine will not use the center load reaction stud. Only the front and rear load reaction studs are installed on diesel models.
No. The orientation of the rear bracket differs between Quad/Crew Cab pickups and Mega Cab pickups. If installing on a Quad/Crew Cab pickup, refer to Figure 2. If installing on a Mega Cab pickup, refer to Figure 3.
The O-MEGA II steps include: 24 square head bolts 5/16-18 x 1" (Item #4), 24 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (Item #5), and 20 tek screws #8-18 x 1/2" stainless steel (Item #6) for attaching step pads. The step pads (Item #2) and end caps (Item #3) are also included.
The SES/GRIP brackets include: 6 M12 hex head bolts 110mm (Item #9), 2 M12 hex head bolts 160mm for heavy duty pickups (Item #10), 4 2.0" washers (Item #11), 6 rubber cushion washers (Item #12), 12 3/8" flat washers (Item #13), 24 3/8-16 serrated flange nuts (Item #14), 4 3/8-16 x 3" studs (Item #15), 2 3/8-16 x 4" double-ended studs (Item #16), 6 3/8-16 x 1" hex head screws (Item #17), and 2 1/2" flat washers (Item #18).

Before attaching the O-MEGA II steps to the brackets, place the step pads (Item #2) on top of the step plates. Use the Step Pad Location Guide table on Sheet #2 to position the pads for your particular vehicle. The table provides specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations for each vehicle model. Note that these locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Yes. When installing the pads on the steps, drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter using the step pad as a guide. Attach the pads with 5 tek screws #8-18 x 1/2" (Item #6) provided. Repeat this process for all step pads.
Install the end caps (Item #3) as shown in Figure 1, tightening the nuts to 5 lb ft.
Position the O-MEGA II step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws (Item #4) and tighten to 19 lb ft.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (Item #15, 16, or 19), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #14) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a 3/8" flat washer (Item #13) and rubber cushion washer (Item #12) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #14) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard or frame side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a flange nut (Item #14) on the outboard end of the stud (finger tight only). After positioning the load reaction stud assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame, tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb ft.
Remove the factory front body mount bolt on the right side of the vehicle (this will not be reused). Using an M12 – 110mm bolt (Item #9) and a 2.0" washer (Item #11), install the front mounting bracket (Item #1 or #2, depending on SES or GRIP model) to the front body mount. Leave these fasteners finger tight until all brackets are installed.
Remove the factory center body mount bolt on the right side of the vehicle (this will not be reused). Using an M12 – 110mm bolt (Item #9) and a 2.0" washer (Item #11), install the center mounting bracket (Item #3 or #4, depending on SES or GRIP model) to the center body mount. Leave these fasteners finger tight until all brackets are installed.
Remove the factory rear body mount bolt on the right side of the vehicle (this will not be reused). For 1500 pickups, if there is a cast iron dampener on the rear body mount, remove it (this will not be reused). Using an M12 – 110mm bolt (Item #9) for light duty pickups or an M12 – 160mm bolt (Item #10) for heavy duty pickups, along with a 1/2" flat washer (Item #18), install the rear mounting bracket (Item #5 or #6, depending on SES or GRIP model) to the rear body mount. Leave these fasteners finger tight. Note: rear bracket orientation differs between Quad/Crew Cab and Mega Cab pickups—refer to Figure 2 for Quad/Crew Cab or Figure 3 for Mega Cab.
Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (Item #7 or #8, depending on SES or GRIP model) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (Item #5 or #6) using three 3/8-16 x 1.0 screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (Items #17, #13, #14). For light duty pickups, install in the lower hole locations. For heavy duty pickups, install in the upper hole locations. Refer to Figure 1.
Tighten the end cap nuts to 5 lb ft.
Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws (Item #4) and tighten to 19 lb ft.
Tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the load reaction stud bracket to 19 lb ft.
Use a 4" stud (Item #16) for the front bracket and a 3" stud (Item #15) for the rear brackets.
The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16".
